Ichigo was nervous... he had just joined and there was a training mission already? Well he guessed that it was only to test your skill and would be kind of easy. Although nobody knows anymore. "Best to be prepared " Ichigo said to himself. He went into the Training grounds and saluted the officer standing guard then went to the main desk. " May I have the uniform required?" Ichigo asked. "Here you go... don't wreck them too much!" The desk lady said.

Ichigo went to the Men's change room. It seemed that no one was here yet. Am I early? or are they late... Ichigo wondered... But he then found a locker and changed. After changing he went to the facility and sat on a bench. I wonder when they'll get here...

1st I'm nervous now I'm impatient... whats going on with me today?

As Ichigo was thinking someone told him that it was about to start! Ichigo rushed off to the briefing area. Then as he ran around the corners he started to do more of a power walk. no running in the halls eh? Ichigo was almost there... As he opened the door he found it was quite early. He found his seat and said. "Yes! It's going to start soon! I can't wait!" Ichigo said to himself as he waited for the meeting to start.

[OOC: From the 'Shooting Range']

Sayaka was wondering what is to be expected from this training, since all that was told was a 'some kind of hostage situation where counter-terrorists are always required'. Walking into the main office, she briefly saluted the personnel in charge, before making checks on what she would probably need. She personally checks on the required battle fatigue and other similar equipment she will be using for this round of training. She is not being sure of what she will be doing, but to be on the safe side, she will go with the flow for now. Giving a nod to the female officer in charge, she heads to her next destination...one she feared the most.

Entering the women's locker room located next to the Training Grounds, she looked around to make sure that basically no one else would be there. If there is something that annoys her to an extent, she never likes to undress herself in front of others, even if they are females. The thing is, she got a thing with the girls making 'comparisons' with each other in terms of their physical figures, which she is already been beaten down by the rest in terms of height...without any more thoughts, she undresses herself down to only her underclothes, and takes out the battle fatigue.

Quickly changing to the full battle fatigue, she puts on some protective gear, and grabs several items like the mask and related equipment, and keeps the rifle in the locker along with her clothes, before making her way out of the locker room after locking the locker.

Arriving at the briefing area, she notices only the Lieutenant and another person was there...she saluted them, before standing aside and waits...

"If you don't have nothing to do then why don't we go to the shooting range now."

"Actually I received orders for a combat training exercise from my superior officer a while ago. Why don't we go into the facility premises so we could get briefed already?", Sieg told them.

"Hey guys, follow me!"

As they went in through the facilities doors they went into the training ground area. There he went straight to the information counter. He the asked the attending officer.

"Uhm, excuse me, were here for the combat training, per orders from First Lieutenant Amherst."

"Yes Sir, please proceed to the locker rooms and get changed into your protective gear. Then please proceed to the briefing area. 1st Lt. Amherst would be waiting for you there."

"Ok, Thanks."

He then proceeded to the locker rooms to get changed, with Jase and NeoG in tow. After getting into their protective gear he waited for them outside the locker room to get to the briefing area.

"Better get dressed quick guys! We wouldn't want to be late!"

After a short while, upon seeing Jase and JM line up behind him he went into the briefing room. Trailed by both of his commrades in single file stood as First Lieutenant Amherst greeted them into the entrance.

"Seargeant Correa, together with Leading Private Mendoza and Private Trusdale, reporting for duty Sir!",

"Yes Sir, please proceed to the locker rooms and get changed into your protective gear. Then please proceed to the briefing area. 1st Lt. Amherst would be waiting for you there."

Jase had wanted to get started as soon as possible walking into the locker he took a bench to the left and started to assemble his protective gear.Putting on the heavy shirts and a vest which gave room to breathe without sacrificing the need for protection.

"Hmm I wonder what type of training exercise they got cooked up for us to day?"Jase thought to himself."Maybe its hostage training "he just imagined the old medieval movies where the knight rode in to save the damsel in distress then he gave a slight laugh."Wait what if they put me as the hostage aw darn"said as he pictured himself in on of those old damsel dresses.

Jase had noticed that Sieg had already finished and left through the door to the briefing room.

He slipped his other items into one of the lockers and finished my slipping his shades into his pocket.Walking out he saw Sieg and 1st Lt.Amherst also the lady that had been in the other car Sgt.Sayaka Nakano with some unknown men. walked up to him.

"Just JM and were ready good hope were on the same team. Also thats the driver from the other car Sieg the Sgt. over there"whispered to Sieg while he was trying to hide what he was saying Jase cracked one of his famous smiles.

"Actually I received orders for a combat training exercise from my superior officer a while ago. Why don't we go into the facility premises so we could get briefed already?", JM heared Sieg say to them. He then mentioned for them to go inside.

"Hey guys, follow me!"

"Yes Sir!", JM said, with a wry little smile across his face. Half of it was jokingly about the response he had to what Sieg said. He didn't thought that he would be referring to his friend as a superior officer. Half of the smile was from being excited for the training. His first real activity as an official FREE FORCES soldier, who wouldn't be excited with that.

JM and Jase followed Sieg as he went inside the training facility. Entering the lobby JM noticed Sieg go straight to the front desk. Looking by his side as Jase was also gazing around the area they followed the Sergeant to the information counter.

JM followed Sieg's lead into the locker rooms so they can all change to their protective gear. He knows for a fact that Sieg would always prefer to wear his casual, fashionista attire even if they were in the warfield so he knows Sieg ain't to comfortable with what he was wearing, but Sieg really had no choice.

"Better get dressed quick guys! We wouldn't want to be late!"

"Hmm, why do I smell a bit of bitterness in that remark Sieg? Ain't too comfortable in your outfit, eh?, JM kidded Sieg a bit, waiting for a response.

"Oh, and I'm ready and waiting."

Sieg then signalled for them to file into a single line as they entered the briefing room. As Sieg announced their entrance and saluted the official JM followed Sieg's lead as they saluted.

[OOC: Sorry about the delay, let's get things started.  Please edit your posts appropriately to get your characters at the staging area. ]

Demetrius patiently stood to the side as the team slowly milled in.  First was Private Ichigo and then Sergeant Nakano, who gave him a brief salute, which he returned in kind.  Then Sergeant Correa hurried over, followed by Privates Mendoza and Truesdale.  Demetrius knew that these privates were relatively 'green' and reminded himself to brief them clearly.  Then a Private running as a courier jogged up to Demetrius, saluted, and handed him a thin folder.  Demetrius returned the salute and silently dismissed the courier.  He opened the folder and nodded as there were two maps of the current layout inside.  He taped one large map to the board while he kept the other smaller map.

"Take your seats, everyone," Demetrius called out.  After everyone sat down and brought their attention to him, he began the briefing.

"Today's exercise will be a standard anti-terrorist operation that will take place in an elementary school," he said without preamble.  He then pointed at the map, "As you can see from the layout, you will be able to enter through three possible locations," while pointing at the three blue arrows, "and the terrorists' approximate locations are designated with the red dots.  However, these locations are not necessarily 100% accurate."

"You will use paintball guns that are designed to look and feel like our standard issue armaments.  The targets will be stationary dummies and will not fire back.  Because of this, you will be observed for your speed and accuracy.  There will be other numerous dummies located throughout the building that will be designated as hostages.  Obviously any civilian injuries or fatalities will count against you," Demetrius explained in the hope that none of them will become careless or complacent.

He frowned and said apologetically as he glanced at Sergeant Nakano, "This exercise's simple set up doesn't allow the usage of sniper support."

"Though we have cameras installed throughout this facility, I will be monitoring this exercise as well via the catwalks mounted above the simulation setup.  If any of you have any questions, feel free to ask.  Now, Sergeant Correa, you will be responsible for your team.  You will need to create a plan to complete this exercise in the most efficient manner possible," Demetrius said as he stepped aside to let the Sergeant do his part.

"Take your seats, everyone,", said 1st Lt. Demetrius.

The Sergeant lowered his salute, which was followed by Private Trusdale and Private Mendoza. Taking their respective seats Sergeant Correa listened to the mission briefing very attentively, taking down notes on the important details of the mission. He scribbled these in a little notepad he retrieved from his back pocket.

type: anti-terrorist operation...

setting: elementary school...

"...As you can see from the layout, you will be able to enter through three possible locations,..."

Siegfred looked at the map posted on the board in front for all to see. He made a mental note of the locations of the terrorists and the entry points in the North, South East and South West areas of the simulated school.

"You will use paint ball guns that are designed to look and feel like our standard issue armaments.  The tatrgets will be stationary dummies and will not fire back.  Because of this, you will be observed for your speed and accuracy.  There will be other numerous dummies located throughout the building that will be designated as hostages.  Obviously any civilian injuries or fatalities will count against you."

"Now that's a thought. I'd be in deep shmucks when I screw that detail up.", Sieg thought to himself.

Then a comedic shot was dealt to Sergeant Nakano, indicating that she specialized to be a sniper.

"That would be handy for future engagements... Better take note of that as well...", Sieg said as he scribbled the said note.

"Though we have cameras installed throughout this facility, I will be monitoring this exercise as well via the catwalks mounted above the simulation setup.  If any of you have any questions, feel free to ask.  Now, Sergeant Correa, you will be responsible for your team.  You will need to create a plan to complete this exercise in the most efficient manner possible,"

Seeing that Lt. Demetrius stepped aside, it was now this Sergeant's turn on the limelight.

"Out of the frying pan and into the fire... Here goes nothing..", Sieg told himself as he stood up and took the spot Lt. Demetrius occupied a while ago.

"Ok. Let me get straight to the point. I'm going to discuss my view of the situation. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or contradictions so as to help us in tackling the situation."

Siegfred scanned the room as he told this. He looked straight at each of his squad's eyes sternly so as to make sure that each of them has the air of him being all committed to the ensuing exercise.

"From how I see it we split into 2 teams, one with 3 members and one with two. We enter the facility from the Northern entrance. Upon reaching the junction the squad shall split into two teams of two. One member of the squad shall cover the junction and wait for hostages to arrive from the two teams. This said member shall escort the hostages out of the facility before returning to stand guard at the junction. Each team shall sweep each room that they go by until they reach the or a hostages. Once a room containing a hostage is secured one member must handle a hostage while at the other member shall keep the escape route open. Hostages are to be taken out through the North entrance. Once all rooms are cleared and all hostages are accounted for the squad shall rendezvous at the junction before escorting the hostages to the extraction point."

Then looking back at his team Sieg asked:

"That's my game plan. Some suggestion guys?"

Like the rest of the military personnel inside the room, Sayaka herself took a seat right near where the map of where they are going to have their exercise today laid out, taped onto the board, in clear so that everyone will have at least a view of what is to be expected in the situation. She then give her attention to the briefing.

According to what has been told to her, the type of operation they are going to have today is a counter-terrorist operation at what is to be 'a setting based on an elementary school'. Although they are full-fledged military personnel, and these sort of tasks, that is, the usual types of hostage situation in which is handled by usually elite police squads, these sort of training are required for them 'to learn to operate in a small environment'. Hostage situations are not all too common at all around Orb, at least, since there has been a very low number of such cases, and at most, these cases are quickly resolved as soon as possible not to create a big mess, not only for the figureheads of Orb, also, into a large dent of Orb's supposedly safe reputation.

Going back into the briefing, the Lieutenant noted that there are about three locations in which they can enter the school from. Doing that would probably be a piece of cake for most people, however, the problem is to manage to actually enter the school without being seen by the terrorists, even if the are inside the rooms.

"You will use paintball guns that are designed to look and feel like our standard issue armaments.  The targets will be stationary dummies and will not fire back.  Because of this, you will be observed for your speed and accuracy.  There will be other numerous dummies located throughout the building that will be designated as hostages.  Obviously any civilian injuries or fatalities will count against you," she continued listening to the briefing by the Lieutenant about how they are going to handle the situation, when the focus of the Lieutenant turns to the girl...

"This exercise's simple set up doesn't allow the usage of sniper support."

The man said, supposedly taking a slight jab of sorts at her. Probably it was the sight of a girl firing a rather large rifle got everyone surprised.

Expected...meh. She smirks, and makes a mental note to herself about that, as she continued listening to the briefing. That is when the person who will be leading them, Sergeant Correa, takes the stage from the Lieutenant. He is the one who will be in charge of their team. The Sergeant proceeds to give his own briefing over what they are going to do.

"That's my game plan. Some suggestion guys?"

It was then she think something is not that right with the plan, and raises her hand up.

"Question," the girl then proceeds to ask in a tone that demands for serious attention from the Sergeant. "If we were to gather the hostages at one point before taking them out, wouldn't this actually take more time, and space? Not to forget that hostages do get restless, you know..."

Ichigo in the conference room heard the briefing for the training. Though it seemed fine another soldier raised quite a interesting point. It is quite true that they are reckless and might do something strange. Ichigo wondered of he would notice any errors. Because he was new to the military he doubted it. They had more experience and knew how to handle things.

Though it seemed that it was useless for him to ask he guessed that it would be better if he asked... Even if it was a stupid question. Ichigo couldn't really think of one. He wished he would, but the ideas of questions just wouldn't come... Then it hit him...

"Is there a time limit to this mission? If so how much time do we have?" Ichigo asked.

Demetrius waved to them to answer the Private's questions.

"Forgive me, Sergeant.  I forgot to mention this particular point," he said, mentally reprimanding himself.

He noticed Sergeant Nakano's smirk at the mention of the lack of a sniper role.  He already knew about her specialty but it wasn't exactly something someone would advertise outright.

"You do not need to 'escort' the hostages out.  They will be stationary target dummies in the rooms, so it would be difficult to drag them out.  Your primary objective is to supress the terrorists with the least amount of collateral 'damage.'  From the start, you will have ten minutes to complete the operation.  But I believe most teams can get it done in about half the time," Demetrius explained.

Standing at attention after telling his game plan, Sergeant Correa waited for his squad mates' responses. He kept his composure, albeit he knows its his first time to lead a squad into a mission. First one to ask was fellow Sergeant

"Question, if we were to gather the hostages at one point before taking them out, wouldn't this actually take more time, and space? Not to forget that hostages do get restless, you know...", the Sergeant said in a very serious and demanding voice.

Knowing that she was a fellow Sergeant the tone of her voice was justifiable. Though this may sound like a taunt for him to answer this query well. Before he had time to answer a Private shot a question at him as well.

"Is there a time limit to this mission? If so how much time do we have?"

The question came from Private Ichigo. The Private seemed uneasy when he asked the question, perhaps he was a fresh recruit. Nevertheless he was about to answer the two points raised. He started to move a bit forward and start to answer when 1st. Lt. Demetrius went in, yet again hindering Sgt. Correa from making a response.

"Forgive me, Sergeant.  I forgot to mention this particular point, You do not need to 'escort' the hostages out.  They will be stationary target dummies in the rooms, so it would be difficult to drag them out.  Your primary objective is to suppress the terrorists with the least amount of collateral 'damage.'  From the start, you will have ten minutes to complete the operation.  But I believe most teams can get it done in about half the time."

"So I see... Good thing, it would be a pain in the ass to drag the hostages out of there...", Sieg told himself.

Shifting his look towards 1st. Lt. Demetrius, the time limit seemed to be a challenged thrown to his team.

"Five minutes should be enough Sir, given that we wouldn't have to escort the hostages anymore. I'm confident that the team would be able to finish the mission within that time."

Sieg now turned toward his team, particularly at Sgt. Nakano.

"Sniper girl... So be it, I'd like to see the look on her face when I call her that next time...", Sieg told himself, hiding his thoughts from being projected out for them to see. Straightening himself in front of his squad he answered the fellow Sergeant's question.

"Even if we were required to extract the hostages the main role of the 5th member of the squad is to bring hostages taken to him or her by the 2 teams back to the "safe zone" outside the engagement area. Perhaps in a real life situation this would be a truck or shielded barricade wherein they would be contained and treated before they are sent to a hospital."

Sieg's eyes gazed at each of his squad mate's eyes as he told this, reassuring them of his plan for the mission.

"Perhaps you were confused by the term 'extraction' I used at the end of my plan a while ago, Sgt. Nakano. I must say that perhaps I have wrongly worded my last sentence a while ago. It should have been that once all rooms are cleared by the teams we shall all rendezvous at the junction with the 5th member of the squad and return to the 'safe zone', and then we shall help in escorting them to anywhere they should be treated, granted that this is as close to real life as our simulation would be."

Sgt. Correa turned his gaze towards Private Trusdale and Leading Private Mendoza.

"Any suggestions from you guys?", Sieg asked them. Though they may have kept themselves attentive and contented themselves with just listening to the other squad mates he would've liked for them to respond as well.

Then Sieg once again stood at attention, going off a bit to the side while he waited for further responses.

Uh oh they notice I was being to quite Jase thought finding it humorous as in his school days he was always scolded for talking way to much. The explanation was slightly vague so far leading Jase into asking a question.

"Excuse me but I don't quite understand how we would suppress dummies who as you said won't be shooting at us?"Said as Jase as he looked at the map of the school.

"Also about the extraction method how would we go by clearing the room will the terrorist dummies be upright and looked to be made as there ready to shoot or will they just have a label to show its a terrorist and be dressed the same as the hostage dummies?"Said Jase as he thought of any other possible questions.

Demetrius smiled at Sergeant Correa's response when he mentioned the time limit.

"Confident, but not cocky.  That's good," he thought as he let the Sergeant continue the session.

Then when the Sergeant allowed for further questions and suggestions, Demetrius had to step up to answer Private Truesdale's questions.

"You need to shoot fast and accurately at your targets.  Shoot to kill.  Points will be tallied based on your accuracy but there will be some point deductions if you take too long to take down a target or if you harm a civilian," Demetrius explained as he composed himself to answer the Private's next question.

"The dummies will be dressed accordingly.  The terrorist targets will be wearing masks and paramilitary uniforms and there will be 1:1 scale pictures of a variety of weapons placed on them.  Civilians will be varied but will still wear typical clothing.  Like with real situations, not all targets stand straight up to defend themselves," he answered.

Still somewhat ill at ease with his relatively new rank, he took a breath before making one more point, "This exercise is intended to hone your teamwork skills as well as your marksmenship.  The same mentality you need to perform well here is required when you're in actual combat, regardless of whether it's being fought man to man or with mobile suits.  If you have any other questions feel free to ask.  Any suggestions should be brought to Sergeant Correa."

Sieg waited for the team to respond after 1st Lt. Amherst spoke.

"A test of teamwork... Oh boy, I better NOT screw this up...", Sieg told himself.

Seeing that the team mostly kept silent, he stepped forward and went to ask.

"If there are no more matters to be raised, I would like to ask you guys on how we would form the teams."

Sieg then looked at 'sniper girl'.

"Seeing that we have to Sergeants in the team I propose that Sgt. Nakano and I lead the 2 teams. I leave it to you guys which of us to pick as sub-teammates. Is that ok?"

Sieg then waited for the team's response, gazing upon the eyes of each of his teammates as he waited.

He's probably right on all counts...she sighed, while seemingly 'enjoying' the endless wait for everything to start, which is not something she usually expected at this rate. Rather, the wait is beginning to bore her to the maximum, if there is anything she would do, that is, charge with guns blazing all over the place. But of course, imagination is not the reality.

This would be the first time the team was assembled, and there is a pair of Sergeants, that is herself and Sergeant Correa. She got a feeling that he is not being happy at being questioned that way, but it was more of her curiosity. As she was about to laze off...

"Eeeeeeehhhhhhhh?" the girl then replied in surprise hearing that, she never expected to be asked to take a leading role.

Maybe because she prefer background work.

Janus was only just informed of the training session and immediately ran towards the training grounds facility. She began panting after eight or so minutes, the trip was much longer than what seemed.

grrr I’m late,’ she thought, taking a quick glance at her watch.’ Damn it! I can’t miss it!

Janus ran faster even though the building by then was less a hundred metres away.

The officer at the desk was quietly working at her little workstation when the doors to the entrance lobby busted open. In rushed a girl, breathless, but making every attempt to speak.

“…training… session… someone… said…” Janus breathed.

The lady caught on straight away and placed a tightly wrapped package with keys on the counter “You should get change first, but the briefing has already…”

‘Get changed’, was all that Janus caught. She was already around the corner of the corridor before the officer could finish her sentence. In amidst her train of thoughts realised she hadn’t been here before. Panic arose but as she swivelled around her eyesight landed on a sign that hung from the ceiling. The words were all blurred. ‘Augh why didn’t I put my contacts on before?’ she queried herself. She took a few quick steps towards the sign and skim read down. ‘Briefing room, training grounds, men’s lockers, women’s lockers… straight ahead!’ Janus dashed straight down the hall and rammed into the women’s locker.

Still breathing heavily, Janus fumbled with the keys and soon found the locker she was assigned. She quickly got changed into the gear and although she looked a bit untidy in the end she passed it with a grin. Janus was just about to lock the locker door when she remembered ‘tags…’ Hastily, she opened the locker again and sifted through clothing for her trouser pockets. Finally feeling the familiar touch of the metal but silenced dogtags of her father’s she somewhat loosened a bit. None the less she hurried herself in slamming the door and locking it with a metallic click. She left the locker room with the door wide open but slowly closing.

Halfway to the briefing room she halted and considered whether she should go back for her contacts or not. Quickly she brushed off the thought muttering a simple “I don't have time for it.” and continued her run for the briefing room.

Almost there’ Janus thought as the door came into sight. Upon arrival at the door she slammed it open with no second thought. Bad idea, eyes shot daggers at her like light coming in contact with her face. ‘ Oh shit, what the hell did I just do?’ Janus stood frozen as she looked face to face with each of the unfamiliar faces seated. Finding enough courage to, she took a quick glance towards the front of the room and came in eye contact with the supposedly commanding officer. Like a bolt of lightning, Janus stood straight in an utmost rigid salute and blurted out “Sir, sorry I’m late Sir!”

Demetrius grinned inwardly at Sergeant Nakano's reaction.  Though he knew she preferred independent or background action, it was also a given that she'd have to actually have to learn how to use her rank sooner or later.  Before he could comment, a young female Private burst into the meeting area in full gear.  Her face seemed to have frozen in shock as she realized what she did was rather improper for military decorum.  Then she suddenly stood ramrod straight, saluted, and blurted out, "Sir, sorry I’m late Sir!”

The Lieutenant raised an eyebrow and was a little confused, considering that he thought everyone in the roster was already present.  "Looks like last-minute orders...I'll have to talk to whoever did that," he thought to himself with a sigh.

Not wanting to let the Private stand there indefinitely, he returned her salute and replied, "At ease, Private.  Take a seat even though we've nearly finished the briefing.  Sergeant Correa here is in charge of the actual exercise, so please check with him for the battle plan.  And do you have your orders with you, Private...?"

He then realized he didn't know her name.  Most likely she just got out of basic training not too long ago.  He mentally chastised himself for not keeping up, though admittedly there have been more and more new recruits lately.

"Eeeeeeehhhhhhhh?"

Sieg was looking at his teammates when 'Sniper Girl' suddenly reacted. His eyes darted towards the Asian girl. Frankly Sieg was surprised with her reaction. Based upon her reactions just a while ago he sensed that the Sergeant would've preferred being hands-on the operation but just now she all seems reluctant.

Sieg raised his right eyebrow, showing his surprise about what has just happened. Just as he was about to ask a question a loud bang reverberated inside the briefing room. Sieg would've ducked and taken out his service firearm if it wasn't for the fact that they were in a military installation.

Standing at the door was a Private, who was in shock. Perhaps she just stood there, thinking how she got herself into such an awkward situation. She suddenly stood up straight and greeted 1st. Lt. Amherst.

“Sir, sorry I’m late Sir!”

"Whoah.. Someone really got her papers messed-up. Its either that or she just woke up extremely late this morning...", Sieg told himself.

1st. Lt. Amherst ushered the Private in and let her take a seat with the team. Sieg noticed that the Private was really in a hurry going here. Her uniform looked sloppy, indicating that she didn't have time to fix herself.

"...And do you have your orders with you, Private...?", 1st. Lt. Amherst asked the newcomer.

"Good thing he asked her first. I was just about to ask that question myself. Anyways, I gotta' know this person first before I start briefing her."

After her abrupt and most disrespectful entrance she knew not what to expect from the senior ranks in the room. Even in the few moments she stood in salute position she dared not to look at any entity. Until to her relief, a kind but strict voice relived her of her pose and anxiety.

"At ease, Private.  Take a seat even though we've nearly finished the briefing.  Sergeant Correa here is in charge of the actual exercise, so please check with him for the battle plan...."

At this, Janus saluted the black haired Sergeant. The surprised face Sergeant Correa had on would've made Janus chuckle if she was not the one placed in the awkward situation.

"…And do you have your orders with you, Private...?"

Immediately she scrambled her memory for the location she'd place the papers. 'Arg! Where did I put them?!' She'd been in such a hurry that she knew she could've probably even left them in the lockers. Fortunately, when she reached for her back pockets, a place where she normally placed pieces of paper and other flat materials, what she sought was found. Janus withdrew the slightly crinkled papers and carefully unfolded it while bravely taking steps through the side gap. She made an attempt at reading the board whilst walking but the text drawn was blurred. ‘Maybe I should go back for them after all, being training practice I can’t go into it not seeing anything clearly.’ She always dreaded asking others for help and even during the time when she’d re-entered school her marks suffered further from her inability to see the board. Her reluctance to ask for assistance didn’t help either.

Before she knew it she was already only a step away from the officer whom she now recognized to be a first lieutenant. Janus’ handing of her papers to the lieutenant became much more rigid than what she would have liked, but knowing that she’d made a fool of herself in front of at least one lieutenant and sergeant she couldn’t help it. There and then she decided on pushing herself to her limits this exercise. Bearing this in mind Janus said in a much more confident tone “These are the orders I received just half an hour ago Sir.”

Demetrius let the Private stand there as he took the papers and looked over them briefly.  He wished that Command would be a little more stringent over such matters but it wouldn't do any good to raise this issue with his superiors now.  He grinned slightly at the Private's statement because of her increasing confidence.

"Very well, Private...Matsuo," Demetrius said as he handed the orders over to Sergeant Correa.

"Sergeant, finish your briefing and give a brief review to Private Matsuo.  I'd like you to start soon," he said matter-of-factly to the Sergeant.  He also knew that Sergeant Correa would also have to deal with Sergeant Nakano's role in the exercise as well, so he decided to observe to see how this would be handled.
