The South African Union (SAU) is the smallest faction of the Earth Alliance, but is still seen as an important power. The SAU controls the greater part of Africa, with small tribal groups both neutral and ZAFT aligned control the remainder.  While mostly strung along by the other 3 nations, the SAU plays a vital role in the Earth Alliances space operations; as it is in possession of the Victoria Mass Driver.
