F.A.I.T.H 0
I'm a casual drinker...But sometimes having an affinity with alcohol isn't good, however slight it may be. I've been thinking about drowning my sorrows in them last time, but now I'm slightly wiser than that. Besides, it's expensive.
lynnks 0
have they ever asked for your id when you buy? have yet to try buying yet
F.A.I.T.H 0
Nah not really. The 7-Elevens don't ask me, that's for sure, and I've only been to the bar once or twice. I reckon they believe that you wouldn't buy it if you're not old enough, anyway.
Valiant 96
Weird thing is... I don't get checked for buying liquor. I get checked for watching NC 16 show. .>" title="" /> Abstinence is the best
F.A.I.T.H 0
That's the most hilarious part about entering a cinema...It's when the personnel asks to check your IC for NC-16 movies and not just simply bringing it out. Geez... If it's M18 or R21, it's understandable...But NC16? For the love of God...Use some common sense. I guess they tend to be a little picky about movies and stuff, considering that there should be more people watching movies in comparison to consuming liquor. I don't know about the strictness of checking of the ages of cigarettes though. I don't smoke.
Valiant 96
Yeah I get checked for NC 16 but not M18 .>" title="" /> No chance to watch R21 yet I doubt they are very strict with regards to smoking.
lynnks 0
ciggies are smelly xP and they're so expensive, you can buy at least 3 plates of chicken rice with those! and chips too!
hannahkiki 0
I hate smokers! I dun understand why people. It's not cool, even more when girls do it. They are expensive, and you are polluting the air by smoking. AND you are harming all the people around you because second hand smoke is worse than smoking. Haven't has a chance to watch M18 shows though XP NC 16 shows they checked. Even if you are in school uniform with two other classes of students taking General Paper AND your teacher present. hannahkiki 0
That time for General Paper we went to watch Syriana, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365737/, which was NC 16. Our teacher brought us there with all her GP classes. We were in JC uniform for goodness sake, and our teacher were there! Of course we were at least 16 '''
lynnks 0
haha, maybe that person at the counter doesn't recognise sr uniform? they didn't check us last time when we went to watch silent hill. there was someone younger than 16 in our group though. hannahkiki 0
Anyway some places they don't bother checking, like Yishun. But honestly, why would people want to sneak into movies they can't watch? You can always get the VCD or DVD.
lynnks 0
the place i went was the cathay bahh.. are even half of the shops there opened yet?
hannahkiki 0
Don't think so. There's nothing to shop there, I rather buy the tickets and go Plaza Sinagpura to walk.
hannahkiki 0
Since Liyin and I are talking about this on MSN, and it's something that can be discussed, might as well bring it here and increase our posts. I AM ANTI SHARK FIN! I hate the idea of eating shark fins. It seems so cruel XS
lynnks 0
But what to do when they serve it to you? It's nice anyway, refusing it would just let it end up in another person's stomach. must enjoy!

hannahkiki 0
I WILL NEVER WANT TO HAVE IT IN MY WEDDING DINNER IF I EVER HAVE ONE. Shark fins are bad!
lynnks 0
they've got no taste the soup is nice! with lots of vinegar and pepper.
hannahkiki 0
But there are many other nice tasting soups too! Why shark fins?
F.A.I.T.H 0
I'm guessing it's more of a tradition issue than taste. I've noticed that trend in chinese wedding dinners, especially.
lynnks 0
cause you can feel it when you bite into chunks of the fin. perhaps the soup doesn't go with anything else. i think it's made from chicken and seafood stock. Or maybe it's just man's fascination with conquering the beast you know.. how some people have bigggg egos and they just want to dominate all
