With enough time, anyone should get used to adverse conditions. Or at least, that’s what she kept telling herself. Over, and over, her tiny capsule tumbled. She clenched her eyes and squeezed them shut tightly. “Please, oh please! Somebody please find my distress signal!” her prayer was much louder than it had the first few dozen times before.

Normally she felt confident about herself, about a lot of things in her life. But in that exact moment she felt meek, helpless really. A round ball softly bounced into her and the girl reached out to grab the object. It twirled around in her grasp and fluttered some as the two red eye gazed at their master. “Cheer up! Cheer up!”

“Oh Haro!” She gulped as she felt tears welling in her eyes. Clutching the machine closely she grimaced as she began to cry. Despair was now fully taking over. She was stuck in an escape pod with nothing to do besides wait and hope she didn’t breath too much before any help could arrive.

A loud metallic clank echoed through the pod, and the girl felt herself hitting the walls of the capsule. “Oh Haro! Are we saved?” The little robot shifted in her hands and flapped open its’ wings, “Rescued! Rescued!”

A few more agonizing moments later and the hatch popped open to her escape pod. She squinted as she tried to gaze out at her saviors. “Oh! Hello sir! Thank you so very much for rescuing me! My name is Lacus Clyne!” the stumbled out of the pod and tried to steady herself for a bow of sorts, which was hard to do in zero gravity.

Before her stood a young boy, a teenager really, with his hands on his hips, tools in hand. The blonde haired kid scoffed at her remark, “Clyne you say? Hey wait are you the famous singer?!”

“Oh my! You’ve heard of me then?”

The boy grew a toothy smile, “I think everyone’s heard of you Lacus! But where are my manners?” He tucked the tools away on his belt and reached out with a gloved hand, “My name is Jonathan Locke!”

Lacus smiled at the offer and shook his hand, she looked around the empty looking shuttle she was aboard. Reading her expression, he nodded, “Yup its just me and you! This is fortunate circumstances; I was on my way to the Plants. Maybe now they’ll accept me if I help take you home!”

“Accept you?” she asked curiously. Jonathan smiled as he returned back to the controls. “Yeah! You see I was in the middle of…” he scratched his chin to think of the right word, “well… I was fleeing my father… to try and immigrate to the Plants.”

She cautiously followed and took the seat next to him, “Oh my! Why are you fleeing your father Mr. Locke?”

Jonathan smirked some at her politeness but continued instead of trying to correct her. “He’s an Admiral for the Earth Alliance. Let’s just say we don’t see eye to eye… on account of me being a coordinator, much like yourself!” He gave her a friendly smile at the end of his declaration, and she returned the gesture. “Just sit tight Ms. Clyne and I’ll get you back home as soon as I can!”

The singer lit up at his promise, “We would very much appreciate that Mr. Locke! And I’ll do everything in my power to make sure you’re welcome in your new homeland!”

Jonathan smiled back at her, “I can’t thank you enough!”

“What do you fear the most Ms. Clyne?”

The pink hair girl cocked her head at the boys question. Putting a finger to her chin she tapped her delicate features as she considered the question. They duo had been flying for many hours and were only half way to the plants. Naturally they two had resorted to conversation to keep themselves entertained.

Lacus found herself intrigued by the strange boy, if not flattered by his own politeness. It was evident that they shared a kindred nature of sort, so she found it easy to talk to him openly. “I must admit Mr. Locke… I was terrified that no body would find my capsule… more scared than I had been in a long time.”

Jonathan nodded somberly, “yeah I imagine that would be terrifying, being stuck in a cage like that… left to the mercy of endless space…” he stared blankly at the stars in front of him. It was clear that he harbored a similar fear though he didn’t elaborate.

“And what about you Mr. Locke?”

Jonathan scoffed and looked around, almost as if making sure they were really alone. “I’m terrified of my dad… of the Alliance, or rather Blue Cosmos. I had to hide my abilities from nearly everyone.” His words trailed off and he cocked his head. “At night I’d lay in my bed and look out my window to gaze at the moon and the stars. On good nights I could see the constellation of the plants. I’d listen to you… to your kind voice… Who would have imagined that some day I could repay the selfless songstress of the stars herself? The voice that would carry my hopes themselves to these very stars?” He gave her a toothy grin as he waved a hand to the man-made constellations in front of them. He caught her fair features blush at his complement and he immediately felt self conscious of himself, settling back into his chair.

A long moment of silence passed before he worked the nerve to speak, “I’m sorry I…”

This time Lacus laughed, “you’re far too kind Mr. Locke! Don’t feel sorry! I for one am glad to see you reaching the stars!” She flashed him an inviting smile and Jonathan returned the look.

They spent many more hours just talking and getting to know each other prior. Turns out Lacus was much more approachable than celebrities were often made out to be. Jonathan genuinely felt a connection to the young woman, a real sense of appreciation. Likewise, she grew to appreciate the young man who was venturing out to try and make it on his own.

Things went as well as could be expected when they made contact with ZAFT forces. Soon as they had docked, Lacus immediately took him under her protection. The media buzzed around the two, the Superstar being rescued by a strange boy was no small headline. The impromptu fame was almost as overwhelming as the camera flashes as the two got into her personal car and departed for her home.

Siegel was just as kind hearted as his daughter and agreed to board Jonathan in their estate until the boy could get his bearings and take care of himself. The chairmen likewise took an interest in Jonathan, one night during dinner Siegel Clyne asked, “so what were you hoping to do here in the plants Jonathan?”

The boy was dressed in some nice clothes the Clynes had graciously provided him. He paused as he dipped his fork into a chunk of meat, “Well… I’m a little embarrassed to admit it… but… I’ve always been fascinated with the GINN. I don’t suppose there could be any way I could join the military to train to be a pilot could I?”

Siegel gulped down his food and paused to study the boy then Lacus who merely nodded her approval. “I’ll see what I can do for you Jonathan, after all it’s the least I can do for you.”

Jonathan beamed at the promise, after all if the chairman couldn’t get him into the military then who could? “I promise I wont you let you down sir! Or you Ms. Clyne!”

It was invigorating, not having to hide his true potential. At first it was unnerving shooting at mobile armors and jets, craft he always considered friendly; but he got used to it. Each simulation got progressively more challenging, yet Jonathan didn’t shy from the tests.

“How is he doing?” A ZAFT officer asked the technician running the simulator. The tech seemed so engrossed by the performance he didn’t look for a moment and only responded when he sensed the gaze of the officer on his back. “Oh – uh- wel- well he’s incredible. He’s definitely one of the better coordinators we’ve seen tested here. It goes without saying that he would do very well in any assignment you could give him.”

The officer nodded thoughtfully as he studied the kid work the fake controls as convincing as any redcoat he’d seen in action. “Well, he’s being vouched for by the chairman himself. Let’s stick him in a real GINN and see what he can do?”

Jonathan kept looking at himself in his green uniform. Because of the chairman they were able to speed him along to skip the trainee class and immediately join the ranks. He was going to be tasked with being the adjunct of an officer for a few weeks to really see how his potential would come through.

It was true he had scored well on all his aptitude tests, a feat that impressed the coordinators in the military even. Any skepticism regarding his appointment were quashed by his talent, and officers were already plotting with what they could do with such a promising recruit.

“you certainly look the part well enough.” Said an angelic voice. Startled, Jonathan looked around to spot Lacus standing in the doorway of his room, Haro cradled in her hands. Her look was less than thrilled.

The boy offered a smile at her to try and soothe her over. He walked over and offered his hands to the girl, which she accepted. Mr.Pink flew off bouncing merrily into his room.

“You don’t want me to be a soldier… I get it.”

She looked away uncomfortably as if just realizing that they were holding hands. “I just want to know why you want to be a soldier Mr-“

“Please just call me Jonathan…. Lacus….”

She looked at him as he interrupted and offered a sheepish smile. Nodding she continued., “why Jonathan?”

The boy kept his relaxed smile on his face, “it’s because I have a choice. I made a choice coming here… and now that I see the beauty of this land…” even as he mentioned beauty his eyes didn’t leave the pop star, making her blush despite herself. “I couldn’t bare to see it set asunder… I don’t want to hurt people I just want to protect the people who have been so kind to me.”

She slowly nodded as she accepted his words, indeed Jonathan seemed more selfless in his motivation.

“Why does Athrun do it?”

His words snapped her back to reality and she let her fingers slip from the boy’s hands, suddenly mindful of her fiancé. “I – well I don’t think it’s my place to tell you… I am glad that you’re doing it out of the kindness of your heart. I’m just worried that those intentions will get lost once you’re in the military.”

Jonathan reached to lift her chin up, gently making her meet his eyes. “I promise… I’ll cling to my ideals. My father and many other good people are on the other side… I don’t want to hurt them.”

As she stared at him, she realized that she believed him. “In that case, let my songs give you strength enough to stand by your ideals Jonathan…” her words melted away as he leaned in to kiss her. She didn’t immediately pull away but eventually relented, “I- I shouldn’t Jonathan…”

Jonathan grimaced at his mistake but nodded, “I can tell you aren’t in love with him…”

The songstress said nothing and only kept looking away as if ashamed. Jonathan continued, “you’re only marrying him because of your parents aren’t you?”

Lacus still couldn’t meet his gaze, “it’s complicated….”

Oddly enough Jonathan began to chuckle, “guess that’s means I’ll have to simplify it!” he announced cheerily. His tone caused her to look up at his broad smile which in turn made her grin despite the situation. She felt like asking him just what he meant but stopped herself, almost afraid of the answer.

“I’ll do my best for you Lacus.” He added somberly just as he began to walk away. “thank you for everything you have done for me.”

“Clyne you say?” Rau mused as he talked to Patrick Zala over the phone. Rau and his team had just docked at the plants for some debriefing and leave. Of course it was more than amusing to see the princess they had been tasked with finding being rescued by an unknown boy. The same boy would then use his new leverage with Siegel to get placed into the military.

“Well if that’s the case then I suppose he is worth looking into… very well I’ll take his assignment.” Rau paused to listen to Zala but was hardly pay attention as he mused at the idea of Lacus’ savior being stationed with her fiancé. That alone would prove to be interesting, though such trivial matters usually didn’t concern Rau himself. Still such coincidences could prove to be potentially useful in the future. He ended the call then went to his medicine cabinet to retrieve his stash of pills and take a dose.

“Jonathan M. Locke reporting for duty sir!”

The boy’s mannerisms were impeccable, his posture perfect as was his salute. “At ease.” Rau commanded as he saluted back from his desk. “It’s my understanding that you performed admirably in the simulations and come highly regarded by Chairmen Clyne himself.”

Jonathan stood like a statue not reacting and letting the commander talk. Indeed the boy seemed cut from the right material to be serving in a military. Though it would be odd having an Adjutant wearing green to be serving under him while he had numerous red coats under his command, Rau didn’t mind peculiarities.

A thought crept into Rau’s mind and he grinned, “So you want to pilot a mobile suit?”

Jonathan flashed the commander an questioning look as if the answer should have been obvious but nodded, “that’s right sir.”

“Well as it turns out we were just delivered a repaired machine that was meant for one of our fallen comrades. It’s been tuned for a greater performance but it’s nothing special compared to the G weapons we recently acquired. I will assign you this unit, since it’s the only GINN we will have onboard our ship.”

Despite himself a smile crept on Locke’s face, “thank you very much sir! I’ll do my best!”

Rau took a moment to study the boy before smiling, “that’ll be all then. I suggest you get familiar with the unit in the hangar. We will be launching soon for patrol duties and performance testing. Dismissed.”

Locke snapped into another salute before leaving the office. Rau took time reviewing Locke’s files, his smile never leaving his face. Indeed this new recruit had much potential, and something else about him that Rau felt could prove to be important later on. “This set of circumstances could be most fortunate indeed.”

The machine assigned to Locke looked as audacious, if not ugly, with the orangish yellow paint scheme. It didn’t take him long to track down the chief mechanic to beg for a new paint job. The best he could get from the man was a “maybe” so Jonathan had to live with that.

The boy drifted to the cockpit of the machine and quickly went about familiarizing himself with the controls and customized settings. He was happily toggling various switches when he heard a commotion outside the machine.

“Just who the hell gave him permission to pilot that machine!?”

A softer voice tried to reason, “The Commander did!”

“You have to be joking! Where is this newbie?!”

A moment later a red silhouette perched themselves in front of the open cockpit. Jonathan looked up to see a kid with stark white hair glowering at him with a sneer on his face, “just who the hell do you think you are? Taking Miguel’s machine like this?”

“Yzak cut it out!” Another voice trailed behind and soon another person appeared next to Yzak grabbing the angry guy’s shoulder. The newcomer sparked some recognition with Jonathan as he had seen pictures of him before, it was none other than Athrun Zala.

“No I won’t! If this jerk thinks he can waltz in here and take over Miguel’s machine just like that then-“

“Then what?” Jonathan finally spoke up.

“What did you say?” Yzak cried out in a rage. Locke glared back calmly at the hot head and this seemed to startle Yzak just a tiny bit.

“Then what?” Jonathan repeated, “You’ll beat me up? Will this argument be over if you get that out of your system?”

They both looked at Locke quizzically at his nonchalant response, “If that’s the case lets go outside and get this done, I warn you though I won’t take a beating lying down.” It was clear to Jonathan that Yzak was a bigger person, but his confidence seemed to be unnerving the other coordinator enough to make Yzak speechless.

Yzak stared hard at Jonathan and sneered as he pushed himself to float away from the machine. Athrun looked at the retreating Yzak before turning to regard Jonathan. Much to the redcoat’s surprise he saw a hand being outstretched to him. “I don’t believe we’ve had the chance to meet. Lacus told me all about you Athrun.”

Athrun regarded the hand for a moment as if smelling out a trap but relented. “I’m thankful for you rescuing her.” He added quietly, as if uncomfortable taking any sort of ownership over the songstress.

Jonathan smiled and reached out to pat Athrun’s opposite shoulder. “Of course!” He added cheerily before releasing the handshake. Returning to his work he looked back to see Athrun still hovering by the entrance. “Something on your mind sir?”  Jonathan deferred to Athrun’s superior position.

For a long moment the dark haired coordinator peered at Jonathan, still looking like he was trying to make heads or tails of the newcomer. “Nothing, just be mindful about using this unit. Miguel was everyone’s friend and it’ll take some getting used to seeing someone else in his machine.”

Jonathan paused and looked at the concerned Zala, “I understand. I’ll bug the mechanics to repaint it for moral reasons if nothing else. I appreciate the warning Athrun.” Jonathan’s tone was sincere and he went back to work. In reality he just wanted his unofficial rival to leave him alone. Locke may be sweet on Lacus but he wasn’t too keen on being too nice with Athrun himself.

It made sense for them to send him out first. After all a GINN was far more replaceable than any of the G-Units. “Jonathan M. Locke! GINN taking off!” The catapult shot the newly grey and black painted GINN out like a bullet into the void of space. It was unusual for a new pilot to have a custom painted machine but the circumstances of Locke’s employment was anything but normal.

The young coordinator worked the controls to get a feel for the new machine. Indeed, the controls were slightly more responsive than the simulators he was used to but it was hardly anything that special. A few zig and zags and Locke felt like he had a better understanding of his new machine.

The mission was fairly simple; they were to “run the gauntlet” through a debris field with the stolen earth units. By this point ZAFT had thoroughly studied the machines and the last thing command wanted was the real-world numbers from this trial before “releasing” the units for normal combat. Jonathan was meant to basically run out ahead and reconnoiter with his mobile suit. This particular area they were at was known for being a haven for space pirates among other undesirables.

For many minutes nothing exciting happened beyond dodging pieces of a debris. Still Locke remained vigilant as he took his first mission rather seriously. His persistent paid off as he eyed a flicker of movement in the distance.

Jonathan narrowed his eyes as he weighed his options. Licking his lips, he called back to the Vesalius, “Locke here, I got movement on my scopes… I’m moving in to investigate.” He hardly waited for a response from his ship, deciding that fortune would favor the bold. Readying his rifle, he flew out towards the mysterious movement he spied and sure enough as he got closer there was even more flickering from thrusters being fired.

It briefly crossed his mind to hail the unknown units, but he knew the reports well and anything here had to be a liability. Leveling his rifle towards the alien flashes, Jonathan’s eyes grew wide as he got within rifle range. “They’re the same!” He hissed as he juked the GINN to avoid enemy fire from another GINN. The flashes materialized and Locke could make out the silhouette of another ZAFT mobile suit, except it wasn’t. The enemy GINN was painted in different colors and he knew it had to be a pirate.

The two machines traded swathes of bullets as they tried to hit each other. Locke frowned as he kept working his machine to dance closer towards the hostile unit. At this rate they would both have to reload their magazines. “In that case…” He veered his GINN toward a slab of metal that could be used as some cover, sensing that his foe was trying to do something similar as well. Just as he reached his cover, Locke twisted the GINN to move in front of the cover and kicked off the debris hard to drive straight for the enemy.

His gun was nearly out of bullets, so he opted for tossing the rifle and drawing his sword. Locke’s GINN came in hard towards a piece of debris that was housing the enemy and just as they peeped up to find him, Locke slashed hard across the mono eye with his sword. The slice was devastating as it whipped the pirate backwards in a tumble. Locke didn’t waste any time as he swiveled around and thrust his blade into the belly of the enemy, ending the threat.

Even as he ended the enemy unit, Locke didn’t let his guard down. He looked around nervously, his mono eye darting from left to right. There was no way there could only be one enemy. Reaching out he grabbed the newly loaded pirate rifle and wielded it with his left hand, sword in right. He had barely secured the weapon as bullets hailed in from above, a mobile armor shooting at him.

Locke growled loudly as he dove backwards and aimed the rifle up at the inferior unit. He flew past some debris blocking a shot but followed the trajectory correctly for the new enemy and popped him as soon as his GINN cleared the blockage.

Finally feeling his head catch up to the situation Jonathan called back to his ship, “Vesalius! This is Locke, I’ve encountered enemy units! I-“ his words faded in his mouth as yet another GINN came in hard towards him, sword lashing out for his own cockpit. He barely managed to get his sword up to block. There wasn’t time to think of a counter, just react. Locke simply leveled his rifle up and fired point blank at the enemy, bullets riddling the chest and making the pirate GINN explode.

There was radio chatter, but Jonathan could barely think about it as two more mobius came flying in from his right, missiles launching off towards him. His rifle was almost out of bullets, so he knew he had to be quick avoid getting hit by the missiles. Four missiles flew in from various angles and he quickly shot the two outmost ones. Tossing the spent rifle, Locke flared his engines to dive in straight towards the other two threats. The tactic worked as he sliced up with his sword to make one missile explode, and cleanly dodged the other. He didn’t relent his acceleration as he beelined for the two mobile armors. The first to die was the one on his right, his sword slashing down now to great effect. Juking from that attack, Locke rebounded and came in fast behind the other one and thrust in, making yet another explosion.

It was only after that attack did Locke sense some tranquility at last. He breathed heavily, scanning around for more foes, but seeing none. He remained stationary for a long moment and was snapped from his concentration as a red machine came up to him. “Locke are you alright?”

It was Athrun hailing him, nodding Jonathan replied, “I’m fine. Looks like you guys missed the party.”

This time another voice replied, “Yeah you could say that!” It was Dearka, “You just took out five pirates all on your own! And on your first sortie. That’s not too shabby!”

“That was impressive!” Nicol chimmed in. Slowly all the stolen G-Units appeared and surrounded Jonathan.

“Guess we’ll do the performance tests and secure the area. Locke return to the ship and resupply… Good work.” Athrun’s tone was more weary.

Locke grinned as the reality of what happen fully sunk in. “Thanks, I will!” He turned his GINN back to the ship and set course. Not many people could claim what I just pulled off, he pondered as he considered what kind of reward he might get for that action.

“Very impressive.” Rau mused as he looked at the after action report. The tests went off without a hitch and the Vesalius was already on course for their next mission. The Le Cruset team sat in the briefing room, with most of the red coats giving Jonathan a look or two varying from admiration to disgust and everything in between.

Still the commander carried on, “not many pilots have the aptitude to become an ace on their first sortie. I think it’s only fair to give proper recognition to our newest addition to our team.” Nodding to the bashful looking Locke he added, “I’ll be sure to pass on my praise to command when I send our reports back to the homeland. I’m certain the chairman will be pleased with your performance. If you keep this up you may start to get a reputation.”

Jonathan looked down in modesty at the remark but didn’t say anything. Rau smiled briefly before carrying on. “Our next assignment will have us performing an atmospheric entry to the Carpentaria base. There is talk of some major operations in the future. Intel says that there is activity happening it Orb, any conflicts there could have greater impact beyond the tiny country since they also posses a mass driver. Right now command has seemed it fit to station additional troops on standby should the situation escalate.” Rau paused as he studied his team, absorbing in each of their unique silent reactions. Indeed events on earth were bound to get much more interesting soon, “That is all. Dismissed.”

Everything rattled around violently as the drop pod descended into the atmosphere. Jonathan muttered under his breath as he gripped the controls of his GINN tightly. The boy sealed his eyes in a vain attempt to distract himself from the glowing red tint growing on his displays.

It felt like he had only just left the earth, to be heading back so soon felt almost like failure in a round about fashion. Locke kept muttering under his breath, hoping for the crescendo of the rattling to end as gravity pulled them in closer. It wasn’t so much descending as it was simply falling, Locke reasoned with himself. They only called it a “descent” to sound like they had some control over the situation when in reality they were chucking a hunk of metal into the atmosphere, hoping it wouldn’t bounce off or burn up heading down to the planet.

Just as he was about to yell out in frustration the vibrations in the cockpit began to lessen significantly. Jonathan dared to open his eyes to study the whirling clouds and blue sky his displays now showed. His attention soon zeroed in on the radio chatter, “Le Cruset team your approach is nominal, prepare for pod separation in T-minus…” the voice began to count down but Jonathan was hardly focused on it as he flexed his fingers and feet over the controls.

The pod practically fell apart as Locke’s GINN along with the G-Units spilled out of the pod to free fall. His GINN was by no means an aerial unit but his big thrusters would stop him from suffering a horrible death. Faster and faster the ground came to prominence and Jonathan timed his boost to coordinate with his teammates. There was a designated dirt landscape for them and one by one each unit settled down in a cloud of dust.

Locke felt an uneasy smile grow on his face as he studied the machines surrounding him. One of the pilots, Nichol he thought, told him that they were called Gundams; apparently it was an acronym. Jonathan tilted his head as he looked at the Duel in particular and wondered what it would be like to pilot one of those machines. Maybe the Gundams would be the new face of mobile suit warfare and he would in the future.

Shrugging, Locke marched his suit in line with the other weapons. They would park their units in a hangar then head to a debriefing to sort out the current situation. There were rumors even as they were in space that some mobile suits had already been dispatched to Orb. If ZAFT was getting involved then it was a good chance the Le Cruset team would be sent to fight as well. Locke sighed, “not exactly what I imagined I’d be doing, coming back to the earth…” he looked up at the sky, which slowly grew darker. One by one the stars came out, one of which he knew housed Lacus. “Just you wait and see… I’ll change everything!”

      For the Homeland
This will be an Orb centric roleplay that takes an alternate look at the events of Heliopolis, and how that cascades into the politics of the Orb Union on earth. I’m hoping that this will be as much intrigue as it is battles. Although this is going to be Orb focused; by all means feel free to explore characters from other factions so long as it ties in.
      The Story So Far...
This takes place around the beginning of Gundam Seed. Things start out similarly except this time there is an Orb commando team there to take advantage of the deteriorating situation. ZAFT still steals the Aegis, Duel, Buster, and Blitz. However Orb obtains the Archangel, the Strike, and secures all the Astrays that were kept in storage there.
It’s during that chaos that our characters begins to appear, namely Nathaniel, Geneva, and Roane. Nathaniel and Geneva use Gold and Blue frames respectively to fight of the second wave of ZAFT mobile suits but the results are similar to the show with Miguel getting killed, and Heliopolis getting destroyed.
From this point Nathaniel is able to negotiate a cease fire with the ZAFT forces there and they go their separate ways.
On their return home the Orb special forces who stole everything are met with contempt and it flairs up the politics with the Orb council decided to blame Uzumi Atha and looking to elect new leadership. There are politicians who would side with either the earth or ZAFT forces respectively; while others seek ulterior motives (Namely Lord Rondo Sahaku).
A special forces team is organized from various Orb citizens/soldiers and designated as Chromatic Team. To solidify their possession of their own military hardware, the Archangel was sent out to a training island to make reform tests on the Astrays and further develop their natural Operating System. Unbeknownst to Chromatic team Lord Sieran attempted to sell out the captured units to the Earth Alliance to gain favor.
The Astray units fought off the Alliance forces with relative success. They returned home for some leave time during which the Orb leadership underwent a election. The board elected Lord Sahaku as the new chairman for the Orb Union. Lord Sieran was unwilling to accept those results and organized a coup with test pilots loyal to him. It was revealed that he controlled the M1 Astrays and used those units for an insurrection.
currently Chromatic Team is fighting for their lives quelling the rebellion while fending off ambitious ZAFT forces trying to inflict damage on the Homeland.
Please note that initially there will be limited access to mobile suits:
      Gold Frame (Nathaniel) - Damaged
Blue Frame (Geneva) - Destroyed, pilot MIA
Red Frame (Roane) - Damaged likely out of action
Strike Gundam - Modified currently used by Lord Sahaku
      Green Frame (Kieran)
      Mirage Frame (Kalika)
Further on the M1 Astrays will become available as well! Depending on circumstances it could be possible to obtain other mobile suits from other factions too!
    • By Zhane Tan
Zhane was happy today, he had a good day at school, granted still tired after all he has been through with his cancer, and has two more treatment sessions before he was done and to see if he was cancer free after so many years. As he walked, with a cane that he was given, he entered the Gunpla Store and smiled as the attendant waved at him. "Hey Zhane, how ou doing?" he asked.

"Tired," Zhane responded back. "Had a busy day at school," added as he walked to look at the Gunpla.

"What are you looking for," asked the attendant?

"I am looking at upgrading my Prime Gundam and want to work on a Long Ranged one," he said back tot he attendant. "I am thinking of an optional loadout for Prime besides what he has right now," Zhane added.

"What are thinking?" the attendant asked him.

"Melee wide, I have a GN Beam Saber, vulcan guns and a beam rifle. I want to have another weapon or two added to him, but not sure," Zhane states as he picks up three Gunpla, two XXXG-01H2 Gundam Heavyarms Custom Kai, the blue version and the GAT-X102 Duel Gundam, Assault Shroud version.

The attendant looked at Zhane and asked, "You want anything else?

Thinking, Zhane looked and nodded, "Actually yea," he said.  Heading over he picks up four more gunpla, Gundam Deathscythe Hell, Gundam Age-2 Double Bullet, Gundma Barbatos and Blitz Gundam. "I think this will work," Zhane added as he returned to the counter and paid for his purchases, in addition to paint and glue. Zhane exited the store and headed home.

The next day, Zhane was at school and looked a the Gunpla Club and walked in, carring his first suit that he made, the RX-78GP01OP Prime Gundam and the Gunpla he purchased the night before. Zhane looked aroudn the club and spoke, "Hello," he said simply as he saw no one. "Anyone here?" he asked as she looked at the application and sat down. While he filled out the application, a few others entered and stopped hwen they saw him sitting there.

"Hey, who are you?" asked one.

Zhane looked up, "Sorry, my name is Zhane Tan. I would like to Join?" he stated to them.

      "You wanna join?" another asked.

"I would like to yes," Zhane responded as he looked at his near completed applicaiton. "I am filling the application out for membership," he added as he puts his pen down.

They looked at him and one smiled, "What Gunpla do you have?" he was asked.

"I have one I custome built," was Zhane's response as he pulled out his first suit. "I call him the RX-78GP01OP Prime Gundam, or Prime Gundam," and he sat it down.
The group looked at it, "That's all you have?" asked the first.

"Yea. I purchased some the other night to work on, just have not had a chance to yet. Had a long and busy day," he said as he looked at them.

"Well, get that application filled out and than lets battle," one states.

"I am still new to Gunpla Battles. So I am sorry," he commented. "I have not been in the best of health in a long time," Zhane added.

"That's ok. we can teach you." two say a tthe same time, who look like twins.

"Thank you," and Zhane finishes the applicationa nd stands as he walks and places it in a tray. He walked back to the table, getting his Gunpla and looking. "Where to?" he asked simply.....

Ten minutes later, he looked at them. "Sorry," he says as he sits down and gets a drink of juice from his bag and drinks it.

      "You ok?" one asked him.

"Yea, been sick my entire life and close to being cured, still get tired easily," he says to them.

"Should you be doing this? With your condition?" another asks.

"Its the only thing that kept me going," he says. "I am in the final stages of treatment for bone cancer. All the treatments makes me tired real quick, but I still love Gunpla. Prime ther was my first suit I built," he commented on the red and blue gunpla. "I am going to upgrade it, but I need to get better at the GBN first," Zhane added.

"You did good, but we can work on the rest. Welcome to the Gunpla Club Zhane," one says as they offer a hand. "Now what is the gunpla you purchased the other night?" she asked him

"Thank you," Zhane said to them as he put Prime back and pulled out the 7 kits ....

      How Things Could Be…
He didn’t understand why he ate. The food tasted just fine, enjoyable even. But why did he eat? Lounging back in his oversized office chair, Aker called out with a mouthful of food. “8 have you had any luck tracking this Spider creep down?”
The computer screen in front of the Psuedo EL diver flickered to life and the hacked AI replied, “Negative. The best I can determine is he is using some sort of filter when he logs in.”
Aker nodded in agreement; he couldn’t say he was too surprised by that revelation. “He probably logs into his own hellish hacked force nest too I bet. No dice tracking him down there…” he shivered at the memory of their last encounter. He took another bite of his apple as he looked at the screen. Could he get fat? If he kept eating, would he gain weight? He did loose the feeling in his arm before but was that merely a programming glitch or was he fully simulated?
Shaking the thought from his mind Aker leaned back forward to glare at the screen. “Alright… lets send out a message to Creed… Time for him to do a favor for me for a change huh?”
As he rhetorically asked out loud, he was already typing a message to his sponsor of sorts. Satisfied that he had done all he could do at that moment he stood up to walk, or rather float, along the halls of his spaceship to the manufacturing bay.
It still bothered him just how vacant the personal base was. It was after all a battleship of sorts and in theory should have been full to the brim with soldiers milling about. He came to a catwalk that oversaw the production line and he caught the railing to bring himself into a standing position over the silent behemoths in his hangar.
The Noblesse stood prominently in display; floodlights activated all around the machine. Despite the obvious attention the Gundam demanded, he couldn’t help himself as he spotted a darker machine in the corner being nearly completed. Aker narrowed his eyes as he studied the machine, still wondering if it was the best course to explore.
His reverie was interrupted as he got a video call from Marco Creed. Activating the screen, he asked, “So you got my request?” The middle-aged man didn’t look thrilled by the casual attitude the EL diver was giving him, but he still nodded, “Yeah, I did, and it is concerning. In a manner of speaking ZAPP was supposed to have the corner on gaming exploits in 1.8. This Spider fellow, well he isn’t playing by our rules. Needless to say, I’ve been… ‘permitted’ to give you unrestrained support in your current venture.”
The tone in which Marco said “permitted” wasn’t lost on Aker and he slowly nodded his appreciation. He was about to say something else when he felt compelled to ask. “Is… is everything alright?”
The older man looked around uncomfortably and sighed, “The board doesn’t like the freedom you’ve been given, they didn’t appreciate your ‘stunt’ of logging back in after you were here last… The point is… well… they’re worried… they’re worried about what you could expose.”
Marco gulped and nodded, “half of them want to pull the plug on you. Others want to pull your connections after you get knocked out again, study you… A few want to exploit your existence, tell the world and put GBN in a position to fully open 1.8 for the ‘freak show exhibition’.” The man looked disgusted at the choice of words.
Aker frowned and asked, “And what about you? What do you think?”
Marco allowed a soft smile, “I think you deserve your freedom… I’m just at a loss as to how you could secure that.”
Nodding thoughtfully Aker cleared his throat, “You know.. I often wonder about my existence… about why I do the things I do….” His eyes looked blankly ahead as if lost in contemplation, “I wonder why I feel the things I do… why I like the people I do…” a cold sneer grew on his lips, “And then I wonder why…” his voice trailed away as he shook his head. “Look… I need to find this Spider… at any cost…”
Marco gave a sympathetic smile and nodded, “It’s going to be hard to track down a hacker from this side alone… there’s a few new programs I can offer you which might help. If we work together, I think we can fish him out though.”
Aker nodded eagerly, “let’s get started then!”
It felt uneasy switching off his digital “mask” of sort. Part of him felt like he would suddenly be put in an awkward situation that could be dangerous. One option after another, Aker maneuvered his floating pane of settings and toggled the last switch. His entire person shimmered as his clothes changed from his Noblesse uniform to a Phantom Pain uniform he had worn awhile ago. It was still stained with blood on the breast and sleeves and looked smothered in soot and ash.
Despite himself Aker held his breath as he stood in front of his test machine. Together they were out in the middle of a field not far from the main lobby. A cool breeze brushed the grass and played with his dark hair as he looked around in alarm. There were no sirens or sounds of incoming mobile suits. Nothing that told him he was in for a world of hurt. Reluctantly he let out a sigh of relief. Once again, he had simply become Hunter. He went back into his options to dawn his black poncho and matching mask. “Alright… lets find us a Spider….”
A few moments later he was flying to the lobby. It had been months since he had pulled off his so called “Second Bloody Valentine Massacre”. Undoubtedly he would have a lot of players still pissed off at him. Perhaps it was his insecurity, but he swore he felt a few players glower at him as he passed by.
The GBN lobby at times could feel misplaced with time, often appearing to be daylight when he was tired and ready for sleep instead. Despite this, there seemed to constantly be darker corners one could find if they were determined. It was largely debated that some of the best hang out spots were in the darker pubs and clubs that GBN offered in the darker recesses.
Never the social type, Gabriel went to a shady club and walked up to a grungy looking bartender. The gruff figure gave him a once over and smirked, “you lost boy?” Shaking his head, the EL diver tilted his head to look around at some of the shadowy corners. “I’m looking for a man named Spider… know where I could find him?”
A few patrons paused their actions to study Gabriel and see just how serious this outsider was. The barkeep huffed, “Heh! You don’t find Spider, he finds you. If you wa-“
Gabriel was already shaking his head and raised a finger to silence the bartender. “You don’t understand…” he tilted his gaze then added, “Everyone is looking for me. I need to see spider now… otherwise I just might have to lockdown this establishment and wipe everything out.” His tone was matter of fact and he gazed at each patron who was looking at him.
Scrunching his face up the bartender replied, “Not possible kid, are you loony?”
Not missing a beat Gabriel cut him off, “Second Bloody Valentine… Surely no one else has stolen my log in lock trick, have they?” He was referring to an attack he had perpetrated; where him and Marco Creed hacked a Gundam Seed event and prevented anyone from logging out while they destroyed nearly all the gunpla there.
For a long while no one moved, no one said anything as they all studied each other. Gabriel’s mask made it hard for anyone to tell who he was even looking at. Finally, a door in the back of the room popped open, creaking loudly and a voice called out. “Get back here fast!”
“What do you mean you need my protection? What kind of idiot runs one of the most sophisticated hacking attacks in GBN history and not have a fallback plan for when things go bad?”
Shaking his head Gabriel replied, “The kind of idiot who didn’t think it would actually work! Look I didn’t come here to poke fun at myself, can you help me or not?”
The criminal crossed his arms and studied Gabriel for a long while then slowly stated, “what you’re asking for will not come cheap. And I don’t always take cash for my payment… do you understand what I’m suggesting?”
Gabriel nodded eagerly, “Hey you saw what I could do on my own, imagine what we could do together? That aside does that mean you’ll take me in?”
Spider waited a heartbeat before nodding, “Sure, I’ll have you stay at one of my private nests while I figure out a way to mask your log in.” Unceremoniously he brought up his menu and sent Gabriel an invite to transport to a new location. Together they both left the back room of the tavern and emerged moments later in a truly unique location.
Gabriel gawked around; he was begrudgingly impressed. Together the stood on top of an asteroid inside of atmospheric bubble. It was no normal asteroid however, for they were standing on a heavily modified version of A Baoa Qu. The dome they were inside was on top of the Gate of Zedan and prominent inside the dome was a rather large castle, reminding Gabriel of the palace the Zabi family would use on Side 3. Despite whatever criminal background Spider had he did seem to appreciate the finer things GBN had to offer. The next thing he noticed was four towering mobile suits at each corn and or the castle, or were they statues? As the pair got closer to the door, Gabriel could tell they were skinned with a stone texture. Shaking his head, he focused on what he had to do.
“Make yourself at home, have a seat in my lounge and I’ll be back in a few moments.”  Spider offered as he gestured to the couch. Gabriel spoke up, “So, did you get all this by selling hacks like the Venom Drive?”
Spider paused at that comment and spun around to glare at Gabriel, “And…. How do you know about those?”
“How could I not? They’re the hot item right now for anyone wanting to get better at the game fast!”
A smile curled on Spider’s lips as if that notion satisfied him. He nodded then walked on towards the back of the room.
“you’re certain no one can trace me here?”
Spider twisted around to walk backwards and raised his hands up to shrug. “Relax, would you? This is my personal nest. I’ve installed some of the best security credits can buy; not to mention some top-notch hacks.” He turned around and waved a hand dismissively. “You’ll be fine just wait!”
Gabriel frowned as he sat on the comfortable couch and waited a moment to be alone before he brought up his menu. The fist thing he did was active the program he had used all those months ago which prevented anyone from logging out of the area. Then he sent a message to his teammates along with a pass to get them into the nest.
I got him where we want him. Show up ready for a fight. Be advised my handle here is Hunter, so watch the friendly fire. Be ready for anything.
Gabriel closed the menu after he sent the message and leaned back on the sofa putting his hands behind his head. He’d strike when the moment was right, but first he wanted to see this scumbag squirm as everything he worked so hard for crumbled.

Mairéad is a person that has a very determined mind once it gets set. She is one that does not like to lose nor fail at anything and so works hard to do her best, no matter what it is. She has a somewhat laid back personality, but that tends to last little when something gets her upset. She is very outgoing and friendly, but can be cold at times due to what she says or how she acts towards people. A lot of times, due to her hotheaded and hardheadedness, she tends to either rub people the wrong way or push them away. However, she is very friendly and is willing to help those in need.
Additionally, Mairéad is very observant and a thinker, she thinks before she reacts and is calm and cool headed. She will not do something stupidly and fool-hearted, although at times it appears that she is doing just that, sue the Mairéad being a hothead. She uses this all the time and is someone that makes decisions based upon the facts and what she knows or is known. As she learns more about something, her decisions change based on the new information. An intelligent person, but she is not a weakling in a fight. In addition, when she does get into a fight, she can be serious, but also determined to succeed at whatever it is she starts. Even though she does get upset at people, she still has a kind and gentle heart and will not do anything to harm people.
She does not like to sit back and has opinions that are not like her fathers who is in the Atlantic Federation and of the opinion that some her brothers and sisters are against the Coordinators. To her, it does not matter who you are, you all deserve to have a life like everyone else. Additionally, she is protective of people, a caregiver, and will fight to the death to protect those who are unable to and will even break the rules to help people.
      Strengths and Weaknesses
Mairéad has a number of strengths and weaknesses. She is a master swordswoman, trained by some of the best sword masters in Scotland and Ireland. She has specialized in both a Scottish Broadsword and a Scottish claymore, able to dual wield the claymore with ease, and she is not afraid to use when she is near it. Additionally, most bladed weapons are useful to her and she always has a few knifes hidden on herself. She was taught this as her father wanted her to be a fighter and possibly join the Atlantic Federation, plus it would show a strong daughter when the time came for marriage.
Since joining the Junk Guild, Mairéad has been trained to pilot fixed winged and rotorcraft vehicles. She has exceptional skill with helicopters due to salvaging of equipment on Earth and has never been to space. Moreover, she can pilot transport aircraft in the moving of salvage from location to location. Additionally, she can repair various vehicles and has even help in the building of vehicles for the Guild she is with. She always has a toolkit with her and is not afraid to use 'Wrenchy' as a weapon, which is a heavy wrench that when necessary she uses like a club. Usually, when she pulls out Wrenchy, people move away, quickly, especially if she is mad. Moreover, with being in the Junk Guild, there are many things that keeps her distracted and interested in learning about, which can and has gotten her into trouble a few times.
With her family being minor nobles, she has a natural born intelligence with high marks in the areas of History, Mathematics and English. Due to this, she was in the top 2 percent of her class when she graduated and her father hoped she would use that knowledge and skill in what she has learned as school. Additionally, besides reading, writing and speaking Scottish, Mairéad is able to read, write and speak English, German, Irish, Japanese; read and speak Latin.
However, Mairéad also has her flaws, and is a hardheaded young Scottish lady. When she gets set on something, she will not back down. Additionally, she also does not like being wrong and gets upset when she is. To go along with being hardheaded, she is hotheaded as well. Not much sets her off, but when she does get set off, she will lose her cool and talk with a lot of Scottish words. She also tends to hit people with objects when she does not have access to her sword, especially if they have insulted her, her clan, her family or friends.
Moreover, she is combative and very competitive, she does not like to lose a fight. She will stand toe-to-toe with people who may be better than her, but she will go all out and do her best. Still, she is not someone who likes to be rescued and will have heated debates on the roles of strong women in the current world. She will fight to protect people and those who are weak and unable to and if she needs to be rescued, then so be it; just do not expect her being happy about it at first.
Mairéad was raised within the doctrine of the Catholic Church with her family, and even though she does not do a lot of what a Catholic does now a days, she still follows the basic rules and does her best to not hurt people. Although, due to her hotheadedness and hardheadedness, she tends to speak things before she realizes it and then has to do her best to apologize to people and make up for any hurt feelings. Moreover she then feels the need to go to confession about the sins she has done.
One weakness she has, that is more a fear than an annoyance, and she has Acarophobia, a fear of insects that cause itching. Whenever she sees one, she is always trying to run from it and always has anti-itching stuff with her. But this is something that scares her greatly, and if she is itching, then she could fail at whatever task she is doing. To make it even worst for her, with the various races within the Multiverse, she is always looking over her shoulder. With Acarophobia, it is something that she tries to face, and usually, it ends in comical situations of hiding behind people, rather they are taller or shorter than her as she runs for cover. This is even true when is piloting, she is protected, but still has a fear.
Standing at a height of five foot six inches, is a lady who has striking green eyes and long red hair that is braided into a single ponytail and ends where her legs meet her body. She has a B bust and long legged. She is toned due to her training with a sword and working within the Junk Guild. Normally she is in work cloths and on occasion wears a simple sundress that is lavender in color and reaches to her knees, simple shoes and no markings of her Clan or where she is from. Additionally, her hair is not tied back in a ponytail and is loose. The only jewelry you see besides the armlet on her left bicep is a pair of simple green stud earrings. A simple purse is on her shoulder as well.
Born in Torphichen (pronounced Tor-Fikken), Scotland, the daughter of the current chief of Clan Sandilands and a Lieutenant Commander in the Atlantic Federation. Mairéad Grace Sandilands was raised in both the Catholic Church and those of her clan. With her father being a somewhat influential person within the church, although not a deacon. Mairéad grew up learning the ways of the catholic order and doctrine and from her mother, she learned the politics of clan order and how the clan was to be ran. Due to this, she was raised in a very strict household and as she attended school, she did what she could to not to deal with the strictness. While at school, she would have fun in getting into fights, her father used this as a chance for her to learn how to fight with a sword and she enjoyed this. Her mother got her to fall in love with music and got her in both cello and piano lessons. With this, she took the time to learn how to fight using swords and bladed weapons and to play music.
As she got older, her hard work in her classes shown as she progressed towards the top of her class and excelled in History, English and Mathematics. On top of her sword training, which she has mastered and achieved a Swordswoman level of skill and training.  Moreover, he has learned to speak, read and write her Irish, German, English, and Japanese, while speaking and reading of Latin. While in school, another side of her came out much to her father’s unhappiness but her mother was more than content, Mairéad was hotheaded and hardheaded, just like she was. She was calm and cool, but she also did not back down from challenges. Additionally, while at school, she went through vigorous training with swords for close quarters combat and can dual wield the Scottish claymores with ease and she also picked up archery and has exceptional skill with a bow.
Unlike her father, who feels that the Coordinators are trouble and that they need to be controlled, she herself has views that all life should be allowed, rather you are a Natural or a Coordinator to do what you want without worry. Due to this opinion, Mairéad and her father, her brother William and two sisters, Hilde and Elizabeth do not see eye-to-eye, who in her opinion follow their father blindly. Due to being hardheaded, this helped her excel in school with her father, brothers’ and sisters are or were part of the Atlantic Federation, hoping she would join them and at some point become a good wife for an officer within the Atlantic Federation. This is where things change, as Mairéad did not want to join the Atlantic Federation, like her father and older siblings and listening to her mother in letting her decide.
After her school was complete, Mairéad was thinking about going to ORB, a true neutral nation, much against her father's wish and those of her siblings, she left after finishing school and began her own journey with the blessing of her mother and her father, although he tries to get her to join the Atlantic Federation every chance they talk. Plus her brother and sister try to get her to join as well.  When she left her home, she traveled and assisted where she could, but was not liking what she was doing, until she came across a member of the Junk Guild. They talked for hours and she went and became an apprentice.
While doing this, she began to fit in with the others, and worked hard, determined to do her best and as she did, she worked with others, learning more about what was going on in the world than the sheltered life of someone within the Atlantic Federation. Once she completed her Apprenticeship, she joined the Junk Guild and here learned how to build and repair the various equipment and also help in the moving of people to the Orb Union. Here, they taught her to be a good pilot of both rotor-craft and transport craft and she picked this up naturally. She has piloted some mobile suits that have been salvaged, but nothing more than that.
Due to this, she has gained many new skills involving the Junk Guild and out of these, she has become an excellent pilot of both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft for moving salvage equipment, and would love to become a mobile suit pilot more than what she does now, but she is still, as far as the more elder guild members feel, not ready for that.  Additionally, she helps behinds the scenes with moving of people who do not want to be within ZAFT or Atlantic Federation control.  However, things changed. Her father, mother and a brother was at Victoria when the Second Battle of Victoria on February 13 occurred. During the battle, her bother and parents were killed by a ZAFT Mobile Suit.
Mairéad’s oldest brother, Captain James Sandilands Jr., the new Lord Torphichen of her clan, threatened to have her return to the Earth Alliance and to force her to enlist, and will do anything to make that happen, including making her wanted within the Earth Alliance. Furious at this, she yelled at them, telling them no and before any more of the argument could continue, shut off the computer. The Guild Leader overheard as did all of the Guild and offered to help her get away, knowing that this would bring trouble to them. The Guild Leader worked with the other Guilds nearby and they agreed on a plan.
With the help of a few other guilds, they setup to have her craft crash and when her older brother came to take her back, she was piloting a rotorcraft, when the salvage it was carrying shifted, causing damage to the craft and crashing into the ocean. Mairéad was pulled from the crash by a few divers of another guild and the rotorcraft exploded and sunk. However, Mairéad was placed on another ship, surviving, even though her body was never recovered. The Guild Leader told her of the plan and that she would be moved to ORD to work and would need a new name. This is why she took the name Mai, a shorten form of her first name and her mother’s maiden name Ingram.
She was moved to different guilds and finally placed within a Guild who was contracted with Orb.  This is how she arrived at ORB, someone who herself is seeking refuge and a safe place and she does not speak of her past to anyone, with the fear that she could be found. However, she is still working with the Junk Guild as she was before the death of her parents and brother and wishes that this war never started. She always carriers a weapon with her, a sgian dubh, a single-edged knife and her claymore is not far away.

Looking at the Gundam Battle Nexus setup, Zhane blinked and had no idea what to do, "So, I just sit in this and put my gunpla here?" he asks the person at the GBN store as he looked back at them. "That's right," said the worker.  Looking at the machine, he thought for a moment and sat down. "Ok, now what do I do?" he asked as she looked again after placing his Gunpla on the machine. The employee blinked and just looked, shocked more than anything "... you've never done this?" he asked. "My first time," was Zhane's response.  The employee sighed, "You put on the headset, and create an account," and as the employee spoke, Zhane did that. "That's it?" he asked. "Yes," said the employee.
Zhane is odd in this matter, having not been out in public much, except for his trips to the hospital. He has bone cancer and has been going through a lot to try to stop it and fight it of and the Doctors are sure that they are to the point of getting all of it, so he has little experience with anything like this, and thinking, Zhane types in a name, Lucky. The employee looks, "Interesting name," he states. "Yea," Zhane says. "I have been lucky my entire life, and still am so far," he replies as he listens and places his Gunpla on the machine to scan it in. "Interesting suit design," the employee said. "Thank you," he states simply as he closes his eyes and takes a few breaths, kind of tired but opens them. "Here it goes," he comments to himself as he logs in for the first time....

Traveling through the VR of the login, he looks around and smiles, "Totally cool," he states as he wonders, will keep his same appearance or will have a different appearance.

He looks at the screen and thinks as he gets his answer. smiling to himself, he picks an design that he thinks will be cool. "Can I change my appearance later?" he wonders to himself as he picks his normal appearance with simple clothing. Afterwards, he steps through the door and into the GBN.
Arriving in the GBN, he looks around as he sees all the different avatars, "Wow, there's someone dressed as Zechs and another as Char.... and... is that a dogboy?" he says to himself as he walks around the floor and looks completely lost.
