Ishian 0
Christoph folded a white napkin and slowly and correctly removed any food he had around his mouth and on his lips, he slowly put it back neatly folded beside his bowl of food. The probability that there would be any was almost none existing as he always made sure to eat in a proper way and don’t spill on his clothes or slob with his food. He brushed of his leather jacket and adjusted its stiff collar. Just because you where eating didn’t mean that you should look sloppy, a the contrary one of the things that separated mankind from the animals was the use of silverware and clothes. Even tough some around this table had some doubtful table manners Christoph used it all correctly and dined formally. Of course there were exceptions where Christoph ate hamburgers and such with his bare hands but these occasions was quite uncommon if he wasn’t surrounded with his closest circle of friends. Christoph turned his attention towards Asahi while he crossed his arms over his chest, his leather jacket let go a faint classic sound of leather rubbing against each other. The white t-shirt underneath wrinkled and his otherwise quite bulky chest muscles disappeared underneath the white cloth. His ice blue eyes looked Asahi straight into the eyes as some stripes of hair made brown lines across his face. “I am quite comfortable with any high-speed mid-ranged mobilesuit. There are several mobilesuits that I think I could reach my full potential in. There are even classic mobilesuits that I think are underused and could still hold the ZAFT banner high in peace and wartime. I am an excellent mid-ranged marksman that gladly covers friendly units with support fire.” If there was one thing that Christoph avoided during a battle it was close combat, he wasn’t the worst close combat fighter but there was something that made him prefer ranged weapons. It might have something to do with that he got plenty of comments in the academy with his ranged weapons when he got none in the close combat classes. He had plenty of “kills” in the practice scenarios against other students at the academy but still he didn’t get any confirmation from his superior that he did well. He couldn’t put his finger on if Asahi was going to be a good squadron leader or if he might be a bit too friendly to his subordinates. But time would tell and as for now he was quite satisfied with Asahi. After all you can’t judge a person too quickly; you never know what they will accomplish in the future. If it didn’t work out to well Christoph could still see them as being friends and that meant a lot to him.
Asahi 0
"Ok, so I take it the general preferences for mobile suits are going to be ZuOOTs, while Christoph gets the AWACS DINN?" They couldn't blame him for trying. Asahi scanned the faces at the table, with a cheesy grin on his face; he proclaimed they arm up in "superiority deficient" mobile suits. Asahi wanted to make the impression, there and then, that he was not a typical squad leader. He wanted to show them he was down to earth with them, and realistically, Asahi was one of their peers. Then again, being a happy go lucky leader could or would be just another stereotype. He didn't care, as the joke, hopefully, sunk in. Asahi gave it a few seconds, before he tried to rectify the aftermath of his joke. "Just kidding. If you're really fine with what you pilot, I'll make it worth your while in this team. And I take it that both you and Caine have your licenses?" He directed his question at Christoph, although it was a good assumption that he already had a license, what with his piloting skill. Caine however, was a mixed bag, and Asahi made no guess on his license. OOC: Just kidding I know that Ishian has a license and Carpenoctum is on the way. Its just that Asahi had to say this, to make sense out of both of your chars giving him no indication IC: Before he knew it however, there was a waitress behind him, carrying a large, ebony pot, its steaming contents quite inviting. Asahi noticed her, and leaned aside, allowing her to place it on the table. He thanked her, and picked up his chopsticks and spoon immediately. "As for me. Well, I have no idea what i'd use. Sure, old suits have their own perks, but seriously, CE71 MS are severely outclassed. It's all up to the pilot, if they've got a GINN and they're going up against a Fortrestra.", and before he commenced his oral assault on his meal, Asahi added, "I'd want a DINN though. BABI's are shit ugly."
Ishian 0
Christoph looked a bit uncomfortable as he had forgotten to answer one of the main questions Asahi had asked him. A bit embarrassing to be honest, although it didn’t bother him to much as it was quite the casual meeting. “Sorry, Sir Okina, I apologize for my mistake.” Christoph bowed his head gently for a second before he raised it again and looked Asahi in the eyes. “Yes I got my pilot license every single paper is in order.” Christoph noticed that Asahi threw in a joke with the mobilesuit assignments. Asahi seemed to be quite the joyful and playful squadron leader. This was quite uncommon or at least it was quite uncommon with Christoph´s experience with his prior squadron leaders. “Well an AWACS DINN you say? I would rather use a CGUE, as it has space capability and I gained a high amount of experience with it in the academy. But of course an AWACS DINN has it uses to. Christoph paused for a second. “I agree that the BABI aren’t to most beautiful mobilestuit, designed this century. But it serves it purpose quite well.”
carpenoctum 0
"Sir, my license should be in hand very shortly" Caine replied to the CO's question " I should be able to present it to you without much more delay." Caine had finished his meal and an attentive waitress slipped over to collect his dishes and silverware. Never stingy he was happy to give her a tip for having to clean up his mess. As she moved away he continued his conversation with his team. "Myself i don't mind the BABI's look at all. Its a versatile suit for many different combat operations. And you can't really say any of ZAFT's mobile suits could be considered to be beautiful in the artistic sense. Though some like the GOUF and other could be described as impressive more than good looking. I would be willing to pilot just about anything if it had the functionality and combat ability i need." Riku Ishimaru 0
OOC: i was wondering why this topic stopped? if you were waiting for me... i thought it was clear that i need not post since i kinda answered those questions and it seemed right for you guys to talk between each other. That and plus i was getting busy >.
Asahi 0
OOC: Hehe, you read my mind Riku Well, I'm also waiting on Ryo Kazunine. He's accepted my invitation into this team, but he's inactive. I was just hoping he'd get back to us quick Worst comes to worse, we'll have to end this thread without him (ie, your chars not getting to know him) btw, I was also going to post anyway IC: Licenses, mobile suits, piloting. What else could Asahi talk about? His crew of men made him think of them as his friends, although the mob had only met. He had noticed that he was being more open than he ever had been towards strangers. Yet, something inside him said that this was necessary; these boys would become his second family. However, it came to him that he had to get to work. Talk was trivial, compared to being on the front line, with their lives on the line. And to increase their survivability, Asahi had to both improve (in fact, get used to) commanding a squad. "Well, in any case, if it was life over death, predictably, I'd go for that ugly BABI. Hah, what a name too." Hopefully, they wouldn't have noticed he dropped the topic too quickly. Asahi stayed silent for another few seconds, taking the time to eat more of his meal. But as he reminded himself, he had to get to work. Downing his last gulp of food, Asahi said "On another note, I'd like to arrange a training session for us. But the thing is, I want to get this over and done with ASAP, who knows when we grunts are needed. I also want to take the chance to gauge both your abilities to cooperate with each other, and your skills in MS handling and gunnery." Asahi took another spoonful of his meal, breaking his sentence. He swallowed quickly. "However, I haven't decided on specifics yet. Things like location, simulation or real, if there's an objective or not. Y'know." OOC: I'm serious Discuss in character. Or should we start another thread in RP discussion? (Then again, I'm aiming for this to be a really short training mission.)
carpenoctum 0
By this time Caine had finished his meal and set his dishes aside. And smiled broadly at the teams leader. "My thoughts exactly sir, function before beauty." He paused for a moment as his phone chirped at him, Checking the screen he looked up at Asahi "There yah go, my license has been confirmed. Im all set it looks like. A team exercise sounds like a great idea to me, we should all get to know each others fighting methods before any live combat." carpenoctum 0
OOC: so what is going on with this? Are we/did we moving on somewhere else?
Asahi 0
OOC: so what is going on with this? Are we/did we moving on somewhere else? OOC: I'm wondering where the other guys are on this side training topic. Both Ishian and Riku are away (and since neither haven't said anything about leave, I'm assuming somethings happened to both of them). So, until they get back, we're just going to have to sit this out. Naturally, I don't want to start training without them
Riku Ishimaru 0
(OOC: i wasn't away .>" title="" /> i was just having my coliseum battle so i can get my license faster... but i was like waiting for Ishian to reply... well i have school now so maybe i post after i get back...) Riku Ishimaru 0
(OOC: my bad i totally forgot about this...) Riku listened carefully as he had finished his meal and had been rubbing his stomach for the past few minutes. In front of him was a large pile of empty plates that were quickly taken away by the waiters and waitress. Riku was intrigued by the fact of practice before battle. It was always fun to do some team practice, or at least to him, to be on the field and find some action. "How about a paint ball kind of training? We can train with mobile suits or we can train by foot. Heck theres we can even have grenades that blow up paints. This way we can train without costing us lives or available mobile suits," Riku suggested, while looking at what the others think.
Asahi 0
OOC: Once again, we're/i'm still waiting for Ishian and Ryo Kazunine. Now i'm thinking should we even have this training session at all, considering inactivity I'm truly saddened by this (no kidding) IC: For awhile now, Asahi hadn't had a satisfying bowl of Bi Bim Bap, especially from Kombo Kwan. He continued devouring the rice, whilst both Caine and Riku replied on his thoughts about a small training session. Giving a moment's thought after Riku, Asahi spoke to them. "Well, real, team, paintball training seems to be the best option right now. For a multitude of reasons; i'm not just making it up as I go. I'll have to ask for favors in regards to our opponents, but everything else will be set. Thats the MS, paintballs and training environ." He thought for another moment, considering the details and such, specifically terrain and objectives. Asahi felt it best to tell them now "When it comes to the terrain and objectives, I was thinking an escort VIP mission, in an urban based environment, as you'd expect. So tell me, any problems or anything? If there were any disagreements, it was best for him to clarify them there and then. Asahi looked down at his dish and noticed it was almost finished. Either he was a quick eater, or they had decreased the portion. He frowned slightly, and scooped another spoonful of rice and downed it quickly. carpenoctum 0
OOC:Sorry about the recent inactivity, but it looks like we already have something set up in the war games thread Sipping on his drink Caine mulled the idea over in his head for a moment. "Sir what about the war games coming up. They should provide some good training both as a team and with other ZAFT forces" As he finished speaking a busboy came up to the table an began gathering up the empty dishes. The guy was efficient and surreptitious in his movements. Caine continued "We probably wont need individual team training"
Asahi 0
OOC: OMG Well, since there's nothing going on, I think we either end this thread, or you'd like a cup of small chat, that'd go down well too IC: Asahi looked abruptly at Caine, his expression the same as a deer caught in the headlights. "Hmm, and here I was thinking I was the only one who knew about the war games...Well, I guess you have a point. And now that I think of it, we don't even have enough numbers to pull off some worthwhile training." Asahi was quite surprised at Caine, although he lied about not having enough numbers. So long as he could have an environment where he could give orders and observe them, that would've been sufficient training. However, he valued the opinions (or opinion) of his men and felt it was important to keep his squad happy to make them work efficiently. So, he stayed quiet As he finished talking, Asahi noticed that a waiter had started to collect the empty dishes on the table. He finished off his rice dish as fast as he could within several spoonfuls, finishing just on time as the waiter came around. Caine replied promptly, discussing the need (or lack of) any more training, with the war games coming up. Asahi stayed silent however. In his mind, he needed to gauge their skills. Well, at least they had no chance to dying in the war games. Then again, being told off severely and put into second regard by all of ZAFT afterwards was perhaps a fate worse than death. Only time would tell, as Asahi sighed slightly to himself. Edited October 4, 2007 by Guest
