Lulu beating Kira out isn't so surprising to me. What surprising to me is that C.C. beat out Haruhi, even considering the cult-like popularity Haruhi enjoys. o.0

Cult-like? I'm certainly amiable at best about Haruhi, but definitely at least apathetic about what I consider an overhyped popularity about the show and the characters.

 

What did surprise me was why Hinagiku wasn't up there when Hayate is.

@F.A.I.T.H: I just mean that most of the anime listed above are fairly recent (within the past 5 years).  I did not see hardly any what I would consider great anime from before that.  Then again, I shouldn't be surprised considering the voting bloc.  (It's like the reverse of U.S. Presidential elections, where the young ones are the majority voters .>" title="" />)

Yeah I know what you meant. In a generation where the new begets the old, I guess it's understandable if you take animation quality, hype and fandom into consideration. I've got a feeling most voters are going for their favorite anime rather than how good it really is. If Gin Tama can get up there, I don't understand why Serei no Moribito or even Claymore can't.

I'm surprised that Haruhi didn't get first like stated above already o_o;

 

The Haruhism isn't big enough to beat the... C.C-ism.. o_o -shot'd-

 

And I find it awesome that Hayate got it into the top 10 <3 He is adorable~
