  1. Fa squirmed uncomfortably in the seat of her new mobile suit. “New” was a relative term, but it was certainly new to her. A web of sparks occasionally danced out he hull of the Asshimar and she tried once more to hail the enemy base. “Mogedishu base this is Blue Sky 10, I’ve sustained heavy damage and I’m looking for a safe place to land.” Despite herself, her voice trembled, it was one thing to have a plan, it was something else to act it out. Her mind went back to the Archangel and her exchange with Kamille at the foot of this particular Asshimar. “You be careful out there Fa… I … I understand why you’re doing this, but I wont forgive you, or them if you don’t come back safely.” It was about the nicest thing her neighbor ever told her, same as the kiss that her gave her that followed. She blushed at the thought and tried her radio again, finding the determination she needed. “Mogedishu base this is Blue Sky 10, I’m in need of assistance, I’m barely keeping my unit in the air!” She added some urgency to her tone and this time her call was rewarded. “Blue sky 10, we read you five by five. We have a landing strip available in the rear of the base from your current position. Please proceed and we will have the landing crew standing by.” “Affirmative!” Fa called back and smirked as her plan became commitment. She began to see the base on the horizon, marked by the Coastal tower which was tipped with the infamous Noventa Cannon. She started up her second radio and began transmitting data to her allies who weren’t all that far behind her. “Alpha team, I’ve been given clearance. Please note enemy strength as I relay it!” —— Kamille nodded his head excitedly as he heard Fa’s voice. “That’s her!” He said rather stupidly to himself. Nervous, excited, it was hard to tell where exactly his emotions fell in that exact moment. He was sitting in the cockpit of the hobbled together “MKII Strike.” He was told to refrain from activating the power too early. It did little to dampen his eagerness at seeing what this machine, his machine, could do though. He reached up to fix the neck of his flight suit and adjust his helmet before gripping the controls. He had the machine riding in the back of a carrier they had taken from the base. His mobile suit was even poised on top of the base jabber they had acquired too. He had the launcher pack fixated on the back of his suit along with the corresponding cannon, gripped and ready to aim. Finally the back door creaked open letting the wet rain veiled air gush into the cargo hold. “This is Kamille Bidan! MKII Strike launching!” —— Creed looked nervously at his controls once more. He thought of Bael and how it performed last mission. He was anxious for the next battle, he wanted to clean up this big mess. He recalled the enemy Asshimar pilot calling him the White Devil and he shook his head. Bael Let’s show them why you reign over the demons… He thought. The data Fa was feeding them was already proving to be invaluable. They were getting troop location and enemy numbers. She was almost at the appointed position however and it was time to cause some distractions. “I hope you guys are ready for this Alpha Team!” He called out as he leaped out of the back of another carrier plane. Bael caught flight on the moist coastal air, its’ thrusters puffing out the rain behind him. He carried the big mace sword again but wondered how long he’d use the item. He was coming to realize that it was more of a weight than a blessing and in combat that wasn’t a duel, he needed his speed to decimate the ranks quickly. He might have to consider a different mobile suit after this mission. The carrier drifted away from him along with his allies and soon it was just the mobile suits approaching the enemy base. “Watch out for the Noventa cannon! Try to keep moving so it doesn’t get a lock on anyone!” He warned over the team chat. “Try to draw the enemy out towards us and on the edge of the effective range of that weapon. We can do this!” He looked for his allies, determined not to get separated this time. I’ll protect you all!

  2. A rainy afternoon. Raindrops poured from the sky upon the fuselage and wings of the cargo plane, and the sky was overcast. No chances of it stopping anytime soon, thought Aida as the TV in the cargo plane's lounge, tuned to receive the local air channels, showed the same for Mogadishu. In minutes, the team would probably see the same aerial shots for themselves through their window. He walked to the cargo bay, deserted save for the snapshots of a damaged Trinames, a wrecked Comet Dagger, and an armless, deactivated Airbatel. The latter was not being repaired, however. Rather, it was that way on purpose. There were surprises in store for friends and foes alike: not only because of his choice of Mobile Suit for this sortie, but also because of his new appearance. Having ditched the glasses, cap and long Titans uniform (though wishing to find some soon to complete the officer look), Aida had adopted the blue ZAFT uniform he had worn at the Second Bloody Valentine Massacre. It reminded him to never stop looking over his shoulder. Especially in unstable versions of the game like this, even the most peaceful of landscapes could become hellish battlefields. To think that this franchise is all about anti-war messages, but their fans can behave like this… “Man... not again!” For the second time, Kyle hadn’t been able to finish his creation. The Trinames was obviously complete, save for the removal of its shields. However, Kyle was going to bring a new weapon with him, the Dynames’ Torpedo. The resin kit was all together, but the rifle and add on’s basic tan color stuck out. Wish I could’ve painted it. Stupid work. Kyle thought, sliding his visor on. It wasn’t long before the Diver was back inside one of the cargo planes, now looking like his favorite character. Charo excitedly bounced up and down as he saw his owner near the Trinames. “Game time! Game time!” The droid chirped while jumping. Kyle grabbed the machine, noticing a peculiar person in the cargo bay with him. “Yep. We’ll be fighting soon.” He said while staring at what looked to be a ZAFT Soldier, albeit with custom colors. “Excuse me, who are you?” He asked, now seeing ‘Challengers of Diamond’ on his patch. “Wait... Are you Aida or Carter?” For a moment, Aida thought of telling Kyle the truth. But where was the fun in that? He tried to do his best American impression, just to throw him off a little. "Well, howdy pardner! I see you been workin' hard. Mighty fine Mobile Suit you getcha. Looks faster than greased lightning." Carter racked his mind, thinking hard about what he could possibly do to improve his mobile suit. He was fast and hit hard, but he was practically made of glass. If he was taken out right away, he'd be of no help. What could he possibly do to help his chances of surviving a fight? He thought of this while looking at an old bodega store, one with some old kits. Then he saw what he needed. “I’m a genius!” He declared, despite the simplicity of what he did. He attached the Forbidden Gundams backpack on the Buster Dagger. and replaced the railguns with his 350mm Gun Launcher, and the 94mm High energy rifle. He didn’t really have time to properly paint it before logging on, it had just been primed, so it was just a black backpack with a few details. He stepped out, wearing the same outfit but with cool Quattro shades, then looked at the two guys standing and talking to each other, he waved “Yo~” he said, placing his hands in his tekkadan jacket as he approached, he was getting pretty comfy with them now. Kyle watched as the altered Buster Dagger appeared, causing him to notice the Airbatel. “Nice try, cowboy!” He uttered to Aida. “You changed a lot. I like it!” What really caught his attention was his blue haired colleague’s sunglasses, with Carter now heading towards them. “Copycat! Copycat!” Charo yelled out in Kyle’s hands. The Diver bopped the toy on its head. “Sorry about that Carter. I think you have good taste.” Carter chuckled at the Haro’s reaction “Let’s say that I am a copycat, what then?” He joked, waving it off since he didn’t really mind “Don’t worry about it, man, he’s cool” he said “I wish this one could talk, but he’s got plenty of personality” he pointed at his Elemechu. Meanwhile, Aida apologized for the joke. "Sorry, you know I had to do it to you. I'm loving the mods, by the way. Trinames and Dagger look like kicking some ass today! I suppose you're ready for the fray." Carter turned to Aida after the question was posed, nodding with a smirk “Always!” He said confidently, both in himself, and his team. “I’m ready.” Kyle smirked, looking at the Trinames. He tossed his companion up to the cockpit area, watching the toy roll onto the seat. “Kinda gonna have to be a one trick pony today, but the Torpedo will definitely make up for that in the water.” Aida thought it was neat he would be accompanied. "So you're gonna go for a dip too, huh. I'm sure Carter and Isla can have the air covered..." Loud beeps and flashing red lights interrupted them, a signal that they needed to get in their Gunpla as soon as possible. "Time for the air drop, I guess. I'll see you all in the battlefield!" Aida hurriedly got in the armless GM's cockpit, which given the Mobile Suits were hugging the airplane's floor, was given to access. He then talked in the team channel, as black squares represented Carter and Kyle on a side of the screen. Isla, meanwhile, was already prepared to launch, and looked inexpressive as ever with her mask. Carter confidently replied, as he and his Elemechu scurried inside the Comet Dagger's cockpit: “Don’t worry about it, boys, we’ll watch your backs from the air! It’s time to play!” He said excitedly, running over to his machine and sitting in the cockpit, but some doubts arises. “Did i configure the transformation? Can I actually do it…?“ Aida suddenly asked something to his teammates. "Hey, did we establish a motivational motto? Because this'd be the time." Carter's internal thoughts were cut off as he heard the question. “Hmm... We’ll outshine all their skills!” He said, sort of as a suggestion. With Kyle getting in last, Charo jumped into his slot, powering up the Gunpla. Its eyes lit up under the tan googles as the cockpit closed, with the Lockon fanatic getting settled. “I think that’s perfect, just like a Diamond!” Kyle replied, looking at the sonar’s screen. Thankfully, it was a little more hi-tech than the classic radar submarines used. “If things go bad, we may have to get in the water Charo. Hope you packed a swimsuit!” Isla, always fixated on the mission, interrupted them. "Enough chit-chat." The cargo bays of both planes opened to let everyone out. "Mogadishu is on sight and officials are asking the pilot for credentials." Aida saw this as the moment to strike. "You're right. Any more delays and we'll be deploying out of a wreck. Aida, Aquatel GM... Challengers, step up! Let's outshine them!" With this cheesy quote, Aida's GM was the first to throw itself into a free fall. Isla deployed soon after in a new variant of the Variable Gundam, finished in lilac and with a flight mode. After her came a very big Mobile Suit made of The O and Hy-Gogg parts that barely came out of the same cargo bay as Isla. Aida steered the incomplete Aquatel in mid-air towards the big Mobile Suit, which opened to receive it. As both machines docked, Deep Aquatel was formed, seconds before hitting the water. The Trinames jumped out next, flying towards the second plane to grab the Torpedo “Woah.” Kyle stated as he followed suit, looking in awe at the Deep Aquatel and the Variable Flight Gundam. His weapon slid out of the cargo bay and fell at a rapid pace until the Diver grasped it. The resin kit connected to the Trinames, causing the rifle to become much lighter. “Connected! Connected!” Charo chirped while Kyle caught up with the others. Carter looked at his crewmates and their new toys. Looking at the new MS that came down from the skies and created a huge shockwave on impact with the water, the blue haired diver smiled and cheered internally. "We're gonna do great!" He said over the team comms, moving his thumb to a button on his control stick to press it. Then, he flipped a switch, as the backpack went and activated, and the arms holding the boosters to the side spread out, launching the blue MS forward "Woo! it works! Yes!" he cheered. LMV-04F Variable Flight Gundam RGM-86QT-DA Deep Aquatel GM --- "Sir! Planes B1 and B2 have deployed their Mobile Suits! Four contacts coming from 0900: three airborne, one underwater!" Smugly, Mogadishu Base's commanding officer didn't even look at the men that had just informed him. He just ogled the number on his digital wristwatch, made with true Gundanium alloy. "Like clockwork. The ones from the Expo are making their move first. Aziba, Kacooler and Otto are closest to them. Tell their squads to intercept. Oh, and… save six of each underwater type. In case A1 and A2 have underwater types too." Immediately, his aide started contacting the mentioned pilots. In the array of screens in front of everyone inside the command center of the base, one could see the troops springing into action from openings on the island’s rock walls. Ajis Aziba's custom Asshimar, finished in dark green and yellow, led twelve Asshimars against the two air types. Kacricon Kacooler, whose machine sported silver accents, and his Marasai squadron of twelve all boarded Base Jabbers and went after the cheese wave, while Otto was nowhere to be seen at first. Then, the doors to the sub pen opened, and several Cancers and Pisces, all finished in gray, were seen departing its insides and submerging to intercept Aida. Then, something far bigger and sinister was seen departing the island… MA-06S Sub Walo - "Aziba Unit, Kacooler Unit, ready to engage airborne element B! Otto Unit ready to engage underwater element B! Sub Walo deployed! What do we do about the other two planes?" - “The Al-Ajiza assailants get Noin and Une. They should be in range any moment now.” This should buy Kronos enough time to get their stuff together, the commander thought as Noin’s green Aries and Lady Une’s Leo Flight Type led twenty-four gray machines forward. Twelve Aries for Noin, and twelve Leo Flight Types for Une. “Keep those Cancer and Pisces ready!” - “Tallgeese, on catapult and requesting instructions!” - “Marquise stopped Gundam Zero One on his own, and understands Treize’s strategies best. I say unleash him. Give him permission to engage anyone at will, and command of the other squadrons too.” As his aide passed down the orders to Zechs Marquise, who promptly flew off, the base commander grinned, looking at a tactical map with all the present units, allied or not. "Messed with the wrong base", he said as Alpha and Beta bit the bait from opposite points of the same battlefield. --- As Trinames grasped its new weapon, a secret message played on Kyle’s cockpit, left by Quatre in the system. “Lockon-san. I’m sorry i behaved that way today. Or yesterday. You’ll probably see this tomorrow. Right now, I don't really know if I can trust these people. I know you, but something's rubs me the wrong way about Strategist Aida, Meister Isla and this man you called Carter. So I've decided to withhold the real purpose of this mission from them. You can inform the ones you trust individually.” Quatre briefly paused before going to the point. "A prominent OZ scientist has been sighted in this base. Whatever he's doing, we don't know, but it's probably no good for the Earth Sphere. He's left already, but he must have left data behind from whatever he's doing. We need you to infiltrate that base and retrieve the data from the main computer… but watch yourself, yes?" As Kyle was left to wonder whether to tell Beta about it, the banner and objectives finally appeared for both teams. Humans need a higher system than God. Primary Objective Alpha: Recapture Risu Challengers: Destroy Mogadishu Base Secret: Retrieve Red Hard Drive Secondary Objectives Defeat Enemy MA Find the Golden Weapon Photograph an African Starling

  3. Shin did his best to try and center himself. He took in a deep breath and closed his eyes trying to think of what his brother might do, he was a great Gunpla battler but a better team player. Right as Shin could feel his brothers word come to mind there was a sudden jolt. Warning singles as damage was done to his Gunpla. In the midst of trying to be a better team player Shin had lost his focus and didn't even notice the attack coming. His rage began to swell as all he wanted to do was win but if he did it like last time how could he win. It was a team exercise so how can his two opposing ideas on Gunpla battle work together. It was then he heard the pilot over the coms. It was familiar…. It was knockoff Stratos taunting him. The time for indecision was done, the time for action had begun. He could see the MS readying itself for an all out attack now that he had telegraphed and goaded his enemy this was a terrible strategy. Even with the damage his booster and his Ms were reeling and ready for a fight. As if the Astral AGE had yet to even activate the eyes lit up with a bright red glow and the thrusters on the Arise and the Astral ignited with an intense light. With that the Astral was gone. This was space combat, the Astrals home field. With all the thrusters it was made to move as the blast fired his Ms was long gone. While one of his rifles was basically shot that didn't mean it was useless. As the Astral AGE flew overhead of the enemy MS it set the rifle to overload and tossed it before it fully got in range the Astral's other Arm came up shooting it causing a explosion that acted as both a light wall and an obstruction in the enemies light of sight. Shin figured he would be ready for a shot of even his blade so he smiled as he used his rifle to shoot a few pot shots to keep the enemy in around the same place as he tossed a Armor Schneider though the smoke wasn't sure where it would hit but it didn't matter

  4. Risu wandered around GBN’s hub world rather listlessly, for now content to watch the passersby. She’d admit that she was never good at these sorts of games, and often thought about stopping, but Choco said she was going to be around at some point. Even the tutorial for her was difficult. She’d dreaded going into a mission, or especially going up against other players. Still, she at least wanted to get good enough to keep up. Choco was a pretty skilled gamer, and Risu felt… obligated to try and get to that level, especially since she’d dropped 60 000 yen for this. Her experience with other games had told her the best way to get good at something was to jump in! …right? A quest window opened up in front of her, its suddenness causing her to jump. Given her avatar, which she’d made to be some kind of cartoon squirrel, she’d let out an involuntary squeak. - << Gundam Generation >> A randomized, dynamic and innovative campaign which reimagines events of every timeline and mixes them up with each other for a one-of-a-kind experience! That… was alarming, but then she’d remembered that GBN was in beta right now. 5. Carter drew in a breath as he arrived home, he head been out on quite the trip; Visiting someone quite important to him and all that. The male enterred his apartment and look around, it was devoid of any other person right now- which was how he liked it actually, it gave him time to do whatever he wanted and right now what he wanted to do was.. relax, he put his bag down on the couch and passed by the shelf on his way through the kitchen to the bathroom. There was a huge amount of memorabilia from his favourite series: Mobile Suit Gundam, from The original all the way down to Iron Blooded Orphans he had Model kits, Figures, and other assorted pieces of merch as well. He quickly showered and thought hard about what it was he could do. "There's no point in trying to beat the world record in The Psyco Gundam strike" He thought "It's not like I have a new strategy for it or anything" He racked his mind as he stepped out and got dressed, then his eyes locked onto what was currently on his bedroom desk, He approached it and picked it up. It was an old friend so to speak, a Gunpla which he had spent all of his money on back when he first began the hobby. the male smiled softly at it and oriented its Monoeye so it was facing him.. The Zaku 2 High Mobility Type; He called it the "Forerunner". Carter then turned to his console and computer, and that's when it finally hit him. He quickly went over to his console and sat down in front of it, booting it up "Please scan your Gunpla". Those words plastered a small grin on his face, the male looked at his Zaku and pat it on the head "Let's do it" he said, placing the Zaku onto the scanner and logging into the game. Now, he was stood in the lobby of the GBN, looking around the place with a hand on his hip.. the place was empty.. He rolled his eyes and smiled a little bit as he started to walk around, exploring the familiar place.. he had read the patch notes sometime ago already so he knew exactly what he wanted to do. He entered the hangar and then looked up at his machine, standing before it and fixing his hair.. The Zaku's blue was matched by the pilots outfit, he was wearing a replica of Char Aznable's clothing, except in his own colours, blue instead of red and silver replacing gold. The diver looked down and nodded to himself before getting into the cockpit and going straight to the catapult. "Free roam without need to refuel? It's almost like they wanted me back" he said quietly as he prepared to launch "Blue Lightning launching in the Zaku Forerunner!" he called out as he launched, flying through the skies with a small smile on his face, and while he bolted through the skies.. he saw something new pop up on the mission screen - << Gundam Generation >> A randomized, dynamic and innovative campaign which reimagines events of every timeline and mixes them up with each other for a one-of-a-kind experience! This would be the start of something great, and he could feel it he clicked the [Join Party] Button and then noticed a flare shoot up "Nice timing.." He then did a quick flip in his Mobile Suit to reorient himself, blasting off in the direction of the flare, as he got closer he marveled at everyone's customized Mobile suits, he looked at his own Zaku and chuckled a bit; he felt a bit under-dressed. 6. Pitch black darkness. It had been that way for long, but out of the blue, one of the four Gunpla Battle Nexus cabinets sprung to action and bathed the room in light. Somebody had turned it on by flipping one of the switches in the service room, while forgoing the other three cabinets and the micro-injection machine used to "print" out parts and weapons that were given to the players as rewards for clearing certain missions. A figure entered the room, having just treated himself to a grilled cheddar sandwich and some juice, ready for the rumble. A voice reached out to him after he put on his headset and visor. "Please, scan your Gunpla" It sounded human, but it was probably a recording. He still remembered the good old times, when the voice was jarringly robotic and spoke in a very butchered English. He took a 1/144 figure out of a holster in his pants, and put it over the scanner. It was a black and blue kitbash based in the GM III, crafted, painted and even slightly weathered in fine detail. Two rings of light emerged under the GM's feet and at the top of its head. One ascended, the other descended, and when they met halfway through to read the information chip, the name of the machine suddenly appeared in screen. Airbatel GM. Like Dan, the builder, he was pretty proud of the thing. "Are you proud of us too?" The Airbatel simply activated its main camera, more in response to the laser rings than his question. Logging in, which was a pretty straightforward process for such a secretive thing, he dismissed the coincidence and put on his visor, diving into a new world, the world of GBN's Community Update, full of new content to discover… and unsurprisingly devoid of people. The lobby inside the central skyscraper was empty save for an administrator, trying out new test NPDs meant to bolster the number of guides in areas too populated for volunteers to show all beginners around. Uninterested, the Diver by the nickname of Aida checked his context menu and used it to teleport to one of the hangar bays. Airbatel was there, standing tall and mighty above him. The administrator had also logged in with a personal Gunpla, which seemed to be that colorful Mobile Suit a few spaces away. Hobby Marasai. An interesting machine, but its owner was occupied. After a routine check-up of his machine, which was way easier when one was smaller than it and not the other way around, he turned it on and headed for the catapult. Being that he wasn't on a mission, and nobody could hear him anyways, he skipped out on the part where he shouted his name and his machine's out loud, to silently catapult away from the building, and fly away to cruise the game world, which could now be done even outside missions since the 1.79 update. That day, the GM-Defenser had been re-painted silver for a new balance of colors, which meant he couldn't use it until Saturday, when the paint dried out and the detail could be done again. He was using a Hyaku-Shiki's and backpack tonight, which hardly kept him in a continuous flight like those Aida was accustomed to. But one of the good things of Free Roam mode was that no fuel or energy would be consumed at all, so he could fly around carelessly in autopilot with the fuel efficiency tool disabled, while using the context menu to try and see just how many people were free to play that night. Hopeful, he gasped when he took notice of the current player count. There were more people than usual, just dispersed through the game world. Maybe that could be the day he finally got to try out one of those new campaigns he had been eyeing. Landing Airbatel smoothly on a yard located behind a replica of Alfred Izuruha's school, complete with a vendor of 0080 avatar paraphernalia, Aida coursed through the menu until he could find that one campaign he had been eyeing but couldn't play right until that moment, and when he found it, he picked the "Look for Public" option, even though his Gunpla was incomplete that day. After all, it wasn't like he was in any position to get picky, and probably all of the beta testers were decent enough people to get hold of a code from the administration. Then again, "it's not like the code was mine to begin with...", he sighed. - << Gundam Generation >> A randomized, dynamic and innovative campaign which reimagines events of every timeline and mixes them up with each other for a one-of-a-kind experience! You've been occupying a space in the carry inventory for long. It was about time you were of any use...", said Aida while equipping a one-time use flare gun on his Mobile Suit's free hand, and promptly having Airbatel fire it. The custom GM III did a full 180 degree turn in a second, lifted its right arm, and pointed the flare gun at the sky to strike that famous 'Last Shot' pose from Mobile Suit Gundam, before firing. A golden V promptly appeared in the sky above them. The V-Flare signal would last an entire hour before disappearing. But he planned to leave for the night if nobody joined him before the flare was gone. If that were to happen, he would give up trying to find a group of night owls he could fit into the daily schedule, and come back Saturday afternoon to get started once and for all with a regular force… - << Gundam Generation >> Looking for Divers… (Maximum 8 players) 1. 7. The helicopters were soon swarming around the Astrays. It seemed like more and more of them were popping out of the forest and from behind the mountain centered on the island. There were more than enough targets for sure. They couldn’t retreat until they enemies were destroyed. Nathaniel gritted his teeth as a tank shell slammed into the left arm of Gold Frame. He could hear Keiran’s resolve and nodded to himself. Now that he was certain that everyone knew this was live combat he could focus on trying to direct his troops. “Granted Larris! Move in there and take out those tanks!” he barked. He then turned to regard the Blue and Red Frames. Geneva was doing an admirable job fending off missile barrages, “XO!” he called out, “provide air cover for Kerian’ keep those choppers off him!” Nathaniel narrowed his eyes at Red Frame which seemed to be putting a minimal effort into simply defending itself. “It doesn’t matter who they are right now MacMaster, what matters is that you kill them first!” he roared out as he stepped in to shoot one of the choppers with his beam rifle. The pink bolt sounded slightly different from the normal beam rifle, but the effect was no less desirable as a helicopter exploded. It seemed just as one of them was taken out, two more flew in to replace it. The truth was he was running out of Vulcan ammunition, and that there were too many to keep shooting with a beam rifle. To panic fire would drain the power, damn they know what they are doing… Several more helicopters exploded as a mass of training drones flew in towards the enemy helicopters. Nathaniel allowed himself a small smile as the unexpected assistance made a sizable dent in the growing enemy numbers. “We have to secure this position first everyone, take out the enemy, mind you energy levels!” Even as he gave the order his thoughts flew toward the Archangel, to Delphine. I hope you can last without us… he wished. ----- “Good thinking!” Hawthorne called out to Kali as she eyed what the girl was doing. She was about to say something else when the smile on Delphine’s face vanished. It felt like the entire ship rocked as an explosion hit the starboard side. There was a fluttering shared by everyone’s stomach as the Archangel plummeted back into the brine. Everyone rocked violently from the short but suddenly fall. “Ma’am they hit our propulsion! We can’t maintain lift!” Hawthorne rubbed her head as she recovered, her hat scattered on the floor, but she didn’t move to recover it. She hissed a curse under her breath, “It seems they know the ship’s weak points…” “More destroyers, three o’clock!” a different voice called out. “Can we turn the ship about?” Hawthorne asked wearily. There was a pause before an officer called out, “Yes, Ma’am!” Narrowing her eyes, she commanded, “then pull us into a circuit and fire the main cannons, we’ll sweep out the enemy ships like clockwork!” a loud roar echoed through the bridge as a flight of jets flew straight overhead, echoed by blasts on the ship. “use the weapons take out those jets we can’t have them strafe us and take out the cannon!” she cried out. There was a trace of real concern in her voice, she knew her ship could best naval vessels, but the jets might be too fast for her weapons to effectively counter. Either way the Archangel had to make quick work of their enemies or they would be done for. Her thoughts drifted to the Purple Frame in the hangar. Despite herself, her thoughts then drifted to Nathaniel. You better make it… ----- “yes, that’s right!” Yuna squirmed in his seat as he looked up from the floor to look at the approving gaze of his father, Unato. The son held a phone to his head and cradled the device with both hands. “I gave you the position, along with their load out and personnel. Are you certain you can capture the ship?” There was a pause that Unato Seiran found uncomfortable despite himself as he watched his son nod frantically. The older man nearly jumped as his sun cried out, “excellent! Thank you so much! I look forward to working with you again!” the boy hung up the phone and flashed his father a triumphant looking smile. Normally Unato would handle such affairs himself but knew that he needed to maintain a buffer of deniability, and his son needed to learn such statesmanship at some point. “it is done then son?” the old man asked cautiously. The young man nodded enthusiastically, “Yes father! The Earth Alliance sent a task force to capture the Archangel and the Astrays. I’ve been assured that if they can successfully do so then our transgressions will be forgiven in the Alliance’s eyes. There was even mention of possible membership!” Even as Yuna cried out almost hysterically, Unato was waving a hand as if telling the boy to calm down. “good… very good. Let us hope that they can come through and take that blasted ship with the least amount of casualties on both sides. We can’t build a friendship on blood loss… Good job yuna. Keep me informed on what happens.”

  8. Carter's eyes widened as he saw himself get rushed down by the enemy mobile suit "Oh no, Oh no, oh no!" He thought to himself, hastily holstering the only two ranged weapons he had and raising a shield, the distinct sound of a beam saber activating was heard as the blue beam sprung from the handle, as the enemy got close he swung! Falling for the front and watching the Archangel get attacked for it "DAMMIT!" he said to himself, he gave chase, spotting his ally closing in.. he flicked the switch to his Saturn engine on and pulled ahead of the Enemy MS “This ship doesn't have Phase Shift, but physical ammo is the only chance we have! Carter, we don’t have much time, let’s mess this one up before the other one comes in!” he heard over comms "I hear you!" He responded "Switching weapons! Watch for the buckshot!" Carter announced as he grabbed the Anti armor shotgun he was packing, he turned around, and started blasting at the enemy to try and slow it down!

  9. Shin looked up as the Astral AGEs gears, and metal roars again. Seeing the unit charging him he smiles. The shot is fired but with the unit's right arm as a shield he moves slightly to the left. Dodging most of the but still taking out plenty of armor on his arm. With his left arm blades he planned full on to clash with the machine head on. As they closed in on each other Shin could see all the small meteors flying toward his machine. Taking this as a sign he dashed back. They worked pretty well as a team. Shin was an all out brawler and really he didn't mind the fight but he had to make sure it was all on his terms, and all these asteroids gave his enemy far too much cover. With that he took his other two bladed wings and detached them giving him another large blade. While his right arm was messed up the least it could do was hold the blade and slash a few meteors. He rushed headlong into the now meteor swarm. Pushing the limits of his thrusters and making his way through the field for the most part taking out all the meteors but still he was getting a bit of damage from some of the smaller ones pelting the machine. He used his thrusters and speed to dodge both machines and pass them and head directly for the ArchAngel. However as he passed them a meteor flew right into one of main boosters thrusters causing him to lose much of his speed. "Damn…. Guess that's what I get for trying to push the thrusters like this." He knew if he could get close to Archangel he might be able to even the odds. This unit in his head could handle the two but since he didn't plan on a 2 on 1 match he forgot to complete the booster fully. It was his "teams" fault. They were supposed to work together that's what they all said and wanted but in the end it was still a free for all

  10. "Dammit-" Carter said before getting on comms "Kira move! I need a clear shot!" He shouted before noticing a beam cut In through the space behind him.. someone had gotten close enough to shoot at the ship "Gah- hold that thought, the ships under direct attack!" Carter called out for his team. He changed sides, going from the tail end of the archangel over to the middle to protect it, he was looking for where the shots came from, frantically so. "You know what? How about this?" H switched over to the Anti armor shotgun and started blasting the direction the beams were coming from, he had to get them away from the ship before Something worse happens

  11. Shin felt confident in his attack if nothing else it would have done decent damage, but bursting through the smoke came another enemy combatant. As the Titan stopped his dagger Shin gave a foul look at both fighters. A two on one match normally wouldn't be a problem for Shin but he was too distracted. As the Gundam frame charged at him firing, shin fired all thrusters trying to evade but his reaction time was far too slow and a large portion of the blast hit his unit center mass. Bits of armor flew off his unit and the AGE unit was thrust back into a nearby asteroid. Alarms sounded as Shin sat in his cockpit his hair now draped over his eyes. Was he gonna lose…. How the hell could all those people talk of teamwork but show him none in return. The other seemed to have a plan while they just kept going the same as last time. It was then that Shin noticed something. He extra armor on his chest had come off revealing a faint blue glow from AGE's A sensor. While most of his Gundam had a red glow that was as fierce as fire this light was different kinder, and seemed off from the rest of the Gundam. Shin looked upon this light and a slight smirk crossed his face. As the enemy unit taunted Shin he retorted "Sorry pal, but losing isn't an option." Shin silenced the alarms that had been blaring his using now slowly starting to lurch away from the hunk of rock it had been so kindly plastered to. The Zeong had also started to make a move but none of that mattered Shin was done worrying about the what ifs and if onlys. Now he was focused… on the kill. The blue light ignited from the A Sensor seemed to travel through the machine bursting forth. In a blazing flash of his thrusters he was gone. The speed was great but his direction was clear, the Titan. Heading straight for the Gundam the Astral AGE's blades slid down from his left shoulder and onto the wrist forming both a shield and a blade. Using the GN Rifle to fire at the Zeong while still rushing the Titan. As the AGE got close he slashed with his blade toward the barrel of the bazooka but this was a faint, he didn't care for the gun for all he cared he would happily miss. However At some point he had dropped the GN Rifle and also rigged it to explode using the blast to propel him into the Gundam with greater speed. As he collided with the Gundam he smiled and used the head of his Gundam to bash against the titans. Breaking off bits of his crest and the faceplate of the AGE. "Don't worry! You never stood a chance anywho! They don't call me the raging beast for nothing!" With that the AGE pushed the Titan off and tried to kick it into an asteroid. As the AGE stood there it took a grim pose like a wounded animal ready to take everything and everyone with him. The clanking of the gear and groans of the metal could still be heard as of the machine was roaring and ready for action

  12. For a long time, Risu seemed to disappear from the battlefield, even staying quiet on team comms. The HUD marker for her machine on the rest of Team Alpha was way out of position, moving seemingly further and further away from the action. What was she doing? Eventually, though, the Higanbana’s marker stopped moving, and an unfamiliar, young voice would transmit through the team comms. “I’m here.” Her comm window finally opened to show the squirrel pilot, who had somehow changed into a more fitting outfit: a close-fitting red-and-black normal suit possessing a pink rabbit pin on the protective collar. “I see it. The ship.” Risu had parked her machine inside a field of debris, having managed to sneak her way over towards the Archangel as ordered. She raised the Higanbana’s sole weapon, its Long Beam Rifle, propping the long, flat weapon against a piece of nearby space debris. Thankfully, the ship wasn’t moving at all, and her heads-up display showed a pair of markers over its bridge and its engine cluster, helping her aim at the critical components of the vessel even if she was wholly unfamiliar with it. A brief pause punctuated the pull of the trigger, and with a low whine, the weapon begun to charge up to let loose a large beam of energy towards the bridge of the ship. If Risu could successfully destroy the bridge, she reasoned, then the fight would be over sooner. She fired again, and again, and again, every shot threatening to slam into the large vessel’s hull and pierce right through. No doubt this would attract the attention of everyone on Beta team, but Risu was fine with that. She'd at least done her job: she'd be lucky to come out unscathed after this.

  13. "The heck? Am I being ignored?" Carter sighed deeply as he was in position, he was able to see people engage in fights from his spot on top of the Archangels tail, it gave him a mighty fine view indeed. The pilot leaned back and relaxed a bit.. he saw the Zeong engage someone, and he saw the GM Go forward as well "We're spreading thin.. that might not be good" He mumbled to himself, before going on comms to his allies "Yo! Try to stay within range of me, if you're having trouble I can back you guys up with some artillery!" He called out before shutting off his comms. He saw the Bael, flying around space.. and he smirked "IBO, huh? Alright, Bael.." he grabbed the 350mm Gun Launcher from his backpack and readied it, loading it with am armor piercing she'll "Meet the Cosmic Eras Dainsleif!" He fired the launcher and the shell shot out towards the Bael

  14. Shockingly, the orange and blue machine did nothing to protect itself from Kyle's beam fingers. "Must've caught him off guard." He thought to himself. The left hand of the Zeong was pointed almost directly down near the back of the opponent's Gunpla, causing damage mostly to the booster attached to it. One of the finger blasts did minor damage to its right thigh as the other hand fired, intended for the waist, but most of the attack ended up hitting the left GN Sword Rifle, with slight damage being taken to what looked to be the Age-2's shoulders. The Zeong floated near the debris as the almost weightless arms did their job. "Come on!" Kyle yelled out. "At least try to fight back, or else I'm gonna have to go for the others!" His arms reconnected with the Zeong as he flew somewhat closer to Astral in order to get a better shot. The diver stopped, once again pointing the ten fingers at the enemy. "I'll just try to end this quick then." He exclaimed, firing not only each finger, but the two waist mega particle guns as well. "Hopefully this'll take care of h-" "HIT HIM! HIT HIM!" Something chirped near the feet of him. Kyle almost fell over from the shock of a familiar voice. "WHAT?!?!" He screamed. "Why are you here?!"

  15. Carter had watched the red Gundam fall down into the colony, he let out a breath and shut his eyes "Damn.. I got lucky" He said to himself, though he had no time to relax- His mobile suit was detecting a machine coming towards him and fast. 'Who the hell?' he thought to himself before finally recognizing the machine; he smirked at it and then turned his MS to face the red comet.. “Come on, Red Comet!" Carter yelled as he went in full throttle. He wanted to greet Char properly, he tightened the grip on his Knuckle Spikes and Shield, his plan was simple.. Rush towards him, get in low and get a strike right to the head unit of the Rick Dias, he smirked confidently.. and as soon as he was close enough he swung at the Red comet and.. Missed? "Where?-" He couldnt even finish his sentence as the Red comet popped up underneath him, kicking his Zaku in the cockpit and pushing him back quite a bit 'Tsk.. I knew he would do that'. The Blue lightning stared down his adversary.. The chest area of his MS was dented, though lucky for him the cockpit was relatively okay.. for now at least. He took in a deep breath, he could fight an NPD at the least, He made his MS Point directly at Char "Come on! Hit me with everyone you have!" He challenged as he dashed at his adversary, winding up for a strong punch with the spiked knuckle, only to feint and try to get behind him to smash the backpack in

  16. The entire battlefield was littered with drastically different Gunpla and CPUs fighting all over the Trinames. Madness seemed to unfold around the Lockon fanatic, but his eyes were set on taking out the crazed enemy pilot’s mobile suit. Unfortunately, he wasn’t giving up on his crusade for victory. While his Beam Gun did manage to damage his shoulder, the enemy Gunpla kept going on, swinging directly at the Trinames’. Kyle pushes hard on the controls, turning left from the slash, but his barrel stuck out ahead of him. He grunted as the large GN Sword took a chunk out of the built-in rifle. “Shit!” He thought. "If I fire that now, my whole arm would be damaged!” There wasn’t much time to worry though, as the other machine was pulling back. “You don’t get to damage my creation and get away with it!” He yelled. Pulling out the other GN Pistol, he fired it point blank at the exposed shoulder. Haro had different plans after this, pulling back to get distance between the enemy after the pistol shot. The toy attempted to move the Trinames away from the close combat as Kyle confronted the robot “Damn it Haro! give me back the controls!” While he wanted to do something similar, the sudden fallback made his return fire with both blasters a little wonky. “Acknowledged!” It chirped as the damaged Trinames was returned to the diver.

  17. She got lucky. That was all. What was next, Risu was not at all prepared for. She panicked, allowing her hands to leave the controls while the blue mobile suit approached with a vengeance, using its spiked shoulder pad as some kind of knuckle weapon. It’d find its mark, striking Higanbana square in its chest, jostling its pilot about and sending the machine careening towards the colony edge. Thankfully, a well-built gunpla translated into a sturdy machine in the game, and Risu would find that Higanbana suffered relatively little collateral damage as it fell into a suburb below, crushing several houses in its wake. Thoroughly shaken, she stared up at the action above, nearly powerless to change it. What was she even doing? What hope did she have of competing against people like this? A familiar, dreadful feeling begun to resurface, like water or blood beginning to fill her lungs. These were strangers, she reasoned. Complete strangers, but why did she feel like she’d disappointed them? In its current state, Higanbana was powerless to do anything, remaining still in the rubble. Its pilot was choking back tears that had no reason to be shed. Why? Why did she let herself think that she could do this?

  18. Hikaru had been forced away from Emma and needed to avoid the pot shots, and on top of that the enemy team had intercepted Kamille first even with his observation and warnings from above the battlefield. Reacting to the Kamille issue had forced him to stop trying to draw Emma away from the fight as planned. Even the tertiary objective to the plan, to draw some enemies away from the main fight if Emma got backup, was only marginally successful at best. The Diver clenched his teeth a bit. Beta Team had seen through and torn apart his plans so fast that it was as if they were Newtypes. He supposed the old adage was true. 'No plan survives contact with the enemy'. Being surprised wouldn't help here though. He had to act. "A bit early to give such feedback on the beta, wouldn't you say? If you want to underestimate them though, be my guest." His shield still raised in a natural blocking position from his deception of Emma and the pot shots already fired by Aida, he covered his machine's left hip from enemy view. The hip-mounted beam gun shifted position briefly while he spoke, the boy feeling a need to use one of his trump cards early due to the situation. With the desperately-hoped-for attack on the nearby Galbaldy Beta by his teammate causing a loud crash though, one that hopefully surprised Aida, Hikaru changed tactics. Quickly strafing to his left, he took aim at the Shot Lancer arm of the enemy machine and fired with the condensed stream of beam particles. If Aida's instincts favored using his shield as he was positioned to do, could he withdraw the extended arm and weapon behind the protection of the shield in time? Or would he instead dodge and risk a less effective weapons lock? If he could remove the dual-purpose weapon or the arm holding it from play, that would likely give a blow to the machine's loadout. It was the best Hikaru could think to do at the moment, but he'd just have to manage.

  19. While the others rushed into battle, Hikaru held back for a moment. Those who detected him might think he was securing the exit, but he took a little time to survey the battlefield and reflect. In the cutscene, Emma was in Gundam Unit 02 rather than Kacricon. Kacricon had instead used Unit 01 here. There was also mention of a Scarlet Team, but that was a team name from the Grey Phantom's MS team in War in the Pocket. Was the Grey Phantom and the NT-X nearby? Kamille wasn't even referenced at all in the cut scene. These were light breaks from the canon, but a key one stood out. Kacricon had told Jerid to get into a Hizack. There would thus be no presumption on Kacricon's part later that Jerid was piloting Unit 03 instead of Kamille if things continued on the 'canon' route. That would be a big problem. There was also the fact that Beta Team could be presumed to have the same knowledge of canon as Hikaru and Alpha Team did, and would have no cause to allow Kamille to get anywhere close to Gundam Unit 03 in the first place. The advantages of the canon that gave one team an apparent advantage over the other were wiped away by small tweaks to the narrative and mutual foreknowledge of what canon did survive unaltered. The GBN designers who wrote the scenario did very well to adjust balance without breaking immersion, even employing awareness of canon as a potential trap, but Hikaru had little time to contemplate praise. Beta Gundam's optics scanned the area below from on high, making an educated guess at the timing given the cutscene to narrow down his search window. Thankfully, well behind the empty jeep which was continuing on down the sky panel road after its occupant had dove clear, was a forested area in which a blue-haired boy was momentarily ignored. Kamille Bidan was still playing by the canon for now, but it would only get the NPD wiped out. To be effective, Alpha Team would have to take this narrative even further off the rails. He could only hope that Version 1.8's NPDs were adaptable enough to be guided in such a manner and thus assist. Making a decision and formulating two plans of action, he toggled his communications from Alpha Team's private channel to the shared Alpha and Scarlet Team channel. The Diver then parsed his words carefully. “...Alpha and Argama Teams, this is Hikaru with a SPOTREP. A civilian identified as the son of the Gundam Mk-II's head designer has escaped the Titans' base by charging a security checkpoint with a stolen vehicle in the confusion. He has since abandoned the vehicle. Possibility of defection high, possibility of supplemental intelligence to be obtained on Titans research is moderate. He's the blue-haired boy in the forest close to the combat zone at location 11.54 km longitudinal axis by 5.63 km circumferance axis, though he's mobile. Requesting designation as Secondary Objective so he can be picked up before he's recaptured or killed. I'm about to try and pull a trick out of the GM Camouf's old playbook up here to sow a little chaos and confusion. I can't go grab him myself right now, so I'd appreciate any takers.” It was important not only to convey to his teammates that Kamille could be killed by Beta Team before he even got to his canon role, but also parse it in a way that Char and the NPDs could accept as something actionable rather than confusing meta gibberish. As the Diver got Gundam Unit 02 in his sights, he reflected on his second plan of action and its inspiration. The GM Camouf was an interesting and little known Zeon machine from the later part of the One Year War. Built from various Zeon units and given thin armor, it had the profile and rough appearance of an RGM-79 and took advantage of the fact that Universal Century IFF technology compensated for Minovsky particle interference by making assumptions about what it was seeing and 'filling in the blanks' based on the profile of the machine it was trying to identify. The GM Camouf was meant for black flag operations and had failed because it was too good at its role – the GM Camoufs were shot down by their own assigned Musai after it had misidentified them as hostiles. When Hikaru took aim at Emma Sheen's Gundam Unit 02 with his Beam Rifle and fired from a distance above, he never really intended to hit. He intended to get her attention and to fill the area between them with Minovsky Particles to generate the conditions the GM Camouf was intended for. His own Mobile Suit, which had so much in common with Emma's in shape and appearance, might just achieve the same effect if GBN was faithful enough to the details. The shield he held to protect his machine's torso helped maintain the illusion. If this made him appear as a hostile RX-178 to Emma's sensors as he hoped it would, and the NPD was smart enough to respond appropriately to the shock of a Gundam Mk-II being fielded by her enemy, he might just pull her off the rails too...

  20. Carter sighed deeply when he heard the GM's pilot bark out orders at them, he shook his head and then gripped onto the controls of his MS. The blue haired male decided to survey the battlefield from the safety of his cockpit.. he looked around and before he knew it, the GM, and Dynames had launched without him- He allowed this to happen, it gave him a better chance to see how the enemy would react "So we're in Zeta right now, huh?" he asked himself "This is in the earlier episodes.." He shut his eyes as he continued to speak to himself in his cockpit "We're against the AEUG.. so Kamille should be here soon, then our opponents would be.." He suddenly opened his eyes, if this were in the anime then there would be a newtpye flash.. "Quattro Bageena.." He said, smiling just a little bit. Carter took a deep breath, despite how cool he was acting he was very nervous.. He was a speedrunner, not a PVP player. He was used to running through countless NPD's alone, just random bots that had no personality in the way they fought- Aside from that, all of his strategies could be planned before entering the mission and getting into the fight. He looked down at the controls of his mobile suit and ran his hand over the joystick "Alright, let's get back to work!" He said to psych himself up. He leaned back and then started putting pedal to the metal, The Thrusters of the Zaku had a faint blue glow around them which only started to magnify the longer her stood in place, he finally opened communications up with his team and said his first few words to them "Blue Lightning, Taking off" he said in a calm voice as his Zaku suddenly burst out of the platform it was standing on, he circled the battefield at high speeds, leaving a blue trail in his wake as he started picking out his targets.. There were a few good choices, The enemy players would serve to be a good challenge, but they were comprised of Gundam type mobile suits. 'I can take them if push comes to shove..' he thought to himself 'but i'll play it safe, for now' he thought. His eyes locked onto the Red Rick Dias, he tightened his grip on the joysticks and then nodded, he knew exactly who he wanted to fight. He opened communications once more "You guys handle the others! Char is mine!" He declared before spinning briefly and then activating hi thrusters at full power, launching himself towards the Red MS while reaching around and grabbing his Zaku's heat sword. He zipped right past the Dynames and AGE that were dueling, finally getting his target in range for his sensors to lock on.. He readied himself and.. SLASHED!

  21. “Looks like this campaign will be more interesting than I thought.” Zeta Gundam was one of Kyle’s favorite series, knowing it like the back of his hand. He’d played missions based around it, but this campaign seemed to have more polish to it, as if it was more realistic. The cutscene for one thing, was way more extravagant and like the show than any other one he’d seen. “Thank God for the beta invitation.” He said. “We might be the first people to try this out.” As his team moved out of the hangar, he heard the GM III pilot, Aida, speak through the comms. "Beta Team, this is One. We’ll use provisional numerical callsigns for this assignment, according to your number in the team roster..." The NPD on the team interrupted, saying "Four, order acknowledged." “Oh boy…” Kyle thought. “He's one of THOSE players.” Kyle ran into the super serious Divers on many occasions. Most would act that way wanting to pretend it wasn’t a game, which is something he didn’t much care for. “It’s just a game. We’ll just take out the other players and… Wait.” Kyle pulled up the table filled with the player’s name and Gunpla. “This is going to be tough.” Three Gundams and a Woundwart opposed them, while the lone Gundam pilot had a GM, a Zaku, and a CPU Galbaldy on his side. “I hope those kits pack a punch.” Even though Kyle was the only Diver with a Gundam on the team, they still had two MK II’s, each piloted by somewhat competent pilots, and a Hizack. They were firing up at the Rick Dias, but Kyle knew they weren’t in range for them. The Trinames, on the other hand… “This is two. Targeting enemy Rick Dias.” The Trinames’ visor lowered as Kyle aimed directly at the red Rick Dias. “Sorry Quattro. I gotta take you out now. You’re quite beneficial to the AEUG’s victory and I’d rather not lose.” He hoped that the MK II’s could take out Apolly and Roberto while the other Divers duked it out, but another thought popped into his head. “Where’s Kamille in all of this?” The timeline had obviously changed to benefit the Titans, but if Kamille showed up, not only would Alpha team have another fighter, but the campaign would be affected negatively for Beta Team. Kyle glanced around to see the other unmanned MK II. He couldn’t spend all of his time looking for when Kamille would jump into it, but luckily, he had a friend who could. “Haro! Take control while I fire incase someone tries to attack!” Kyle shouted to the little robot. “and keep an eye on the third MK II! Tell me if it moves.” The red Haro spun around. “Roger! Roger!” Kyle kept his eyes on the NPD’s, opting to fire at one of Quattro’s pals instead. “Easier target…” The Smart Beam Gun pointed directly at the Rick Dias’ to the right of the AEUG Lieutenant. “Time to engage. NERAI UTSU ZE!” A pink beam emerged from the built-in beam rifle as it sped towards the target.

  22. Despite the somewhat lackluster attendance on the server there was a surprisingly quick turn around of divers joining this particular mission. Marco rubbed his beard as he studied the names and units respectively. All of the kits were quite impressive, each for varying reasons. There was a lot of awkward greetings exchanged and Marco hardly cared as he ran through the systems of the zero yet again. He studied the weapons and loadouts of the other units respectively, silently guessing what each was capable of. It seemed almost suddenly when the mission began. The Zeta flavored cutscene played out and soon he was staring at hangar doors opening in front of him from a rusty freighter. He glanced at the units around him: the AGE, Beta, and TR-6. “So this is the dream team…” he mused to himself before turning on his comms. “How do we want to do this Alpha team? I’m assuming the NPD’s will act out nearly like the show did….” Marco rubbed his beard as he talked contemplating the best course, curious how his teammates would scheme as well. With the added units and their respective abilities he wasn’t sure that the outcome would be guaranteed the same. Suddenly an idea cropped into Marco’s head and he pulled the controls to transform into mobile armor mode, jetting forward. “I’m scouting ahead! Let’s keep Quattro and the AEUG members safe!” Marco knew in the back of his head that it was unlikely a newly formed team could agree on a single plan quickly. The best he could hope for would be everyone not getting in each other’s way.

  23. Suddenly, one by one, complete strangers, piloting customized machines of a very good quality, started to drop around him and made their entrance before joining the wait list, like some sort of early Christmas miracle. First was a Saviour from SEED, mixed with some elements from Epyon. Then, a custom Dynames, with what appeared to be some parts from Sazabi. Aida needed not even look at the rest of it to know the pilot had to specialize in long-range attacks. It was followed by a very angry-looking AGE-2, which triggered the countdown clock that would send the four of them to the campaign as soon as 120 seconds passed without any new machines joining. But, surprise, surprise: three more challengers stepped up to the game: a custom Zaku II that still shined despite the simplicity of its build, a very well built Refined Barzam which had been mixed with a Gundam MkII and used the bright colors of Zeta Gundam, and finally, the surprise of the year: a very pretty red Woundwort to defy any and all of his prejudices towards Advance of Zeta units. Even he, the first one in every crowd to bash modern mechanical design, had to admit that it was one hell of a good Mobile Suit, and he expected it to be piloted by an equally skilled operator. Then there was him, with his humble Airbatel, holding a Shot Lancer and panning its main camera, while dishing out greetings to the other Mobile Suits as they landed. "What an unfortunate day to put the Defenser and the beam rifle in the bench..." Nothing more could be said before the alarm rang calmly. Sadly, no eight machine had joined them, so now, every single machine was transported to a black space for the start of the campaign. He was not disappointed, that nearly full house was much more than he was expecting to find that night, and the NPD that would fill the empty spot could make for a good test of might for the allied AI, if it ended up in his team. "Speaking of which", Aida wondered out loud, and looked at his right. There was an eight machine, a green Galbaldy Beta. The NPD? He checked with a table that had now appeared in the black space among the eight of them, and saw that the teams had been already decided. - - - Provisional Force Alpha Gundam Zero Saviour - Creed Astral AGE Gundam - Shin Beta Gundam - Hikaru TR-6 Higanbana - Risu Provisional Force Beta GM Airbatel - Aida Gundam Trinames - Kyle Zaku Forerunner - Carter Galbaldy Beta (Titans) - ReC-NPD - - - "Rec what?" Whatever it stood for, the NPD filling in was rather unusual. Most NPDs on this beta had flashy machines, famous for winning Gunpla Building contests in Perisia, and relatively normal names, like Re-1 and Mall Ninja. All of this, along with the upgrades to the AI, gradually active depending on the skill of both teams, were enough to fool some and think they were actual Divers. Mall Ninja even had a fan club due to his humorous quips and his neat red Susanowo. And even though the Galbaldy looked like GBWC material, with the amount of detail it had been given, the lore-appropriate decals and the weathering, he couldn't stop thinking something was off. But that wasn't the time for wonders. One by one, the rival machines disappeared from his view, and once even the NPD was gone, his view detached itself from the Airbatel's cockpit. Everyone was probably seeing the same. This was the beginning of a cutscene. Music started to play, and a banner announced their arrival to the stage of one of the most influential wars ever seen by the Universal Century... - - - << Cutscene Start >> Outer space. The position of the Sun offered an unparalleled view of a group of colonies, stationed at one of many Lagrangian points. One in particular was seeing movement: two black Mobile Suits jittered around one of the service back entrances, nervously if a sentiment could be assigned to their way of moving. Surely enough, it appeared something inside had just kicked the hornet's nest, as a red Mobile Suit automatically came out of the service entrance and retreated at full speed, with its black analogues following its lead closely, while two GM IIs and a Hi-Zack operated by the Titans came out of the other side of the colony. "Target acquisition in seven. It will be violent, men. Prep yourselves for contact", said the voice of the Hi-Zack to its subordinates, as they blasted full speed ahead to the other side of the colony. However, as they got closer they noticed a signal of some kind among the stars. "A flare… did the bastard call reinforcements? UAAG-" Nothing more would be heard of the three pilots, as a potent beam was cast upon them and the surface of the military-owned colony, destroying their machines and piercing the wall alike. "Apolly! Roberto! To me! We're going to capture the Gundam Mark II!" Soon after the explosion, while emergency sirens started blaring inside the colony and the smog clogging the artificial atmosphere escaped through the hole, three Rick Dias came out of hiding behind an asteroid, and accelerated into the colony, using the opening to begin their assault on the Green Noa base. Immediately after entering, they were greeted by a squadron of GM IIs, with their short beam rifles at the ready. "Eeeeh… But we haven't found out the whereabouts of the Gundam yet!" So, the red Rick Dias grabbed a hold of its beam pistol, and Quattro Bajeena’s squad of One Year War veterans faced a squadron with double the numbers, but half the skill, which had problems hitting the new models. "You think you’re so much better, don’t you?!", yelled one of the pilots in frustration, firing at Quattro’s machine. However, his fixation on it allowed one of his wingmen to get a crystal clear shot of the attacking GM with their clay bazooka. An explosion followed, and the remains of the leader’s GM descended upon some of the factories that had been making the materials to build the secret mobile suits and their equipment. Meanwhile, two black Gundams helped put a third in a mobile platform, meant to take it to its hangar. While the Mobile Suit was in what appeared to be perfect condition, the building it had landed on was not. Effectively, just like the third Gundam, people were being taken out of the building in stretchers, with a pair being on a far worse state than others, heading for a body bag rather than an ambulance. The pilot, a blond man who was about to board the wheeled platform, was approached by a very well known figure of the One Year War, accordingly dressed in his khaki Federation uniform. "What are you doing here?! Can't you hear the sirens?", yelled Bright Noa over the sound of the aforementioned alarms. Jerid Messa replied unenthusiastically to his concerns. "Tsk, i bet it was just a meteorite hit which opened up that hole." But Captain Bright wasn't amused, and fed back accordingly. "What would somebody like you know?! You've only just arrived from Earth!" This prompted an uncomfortable silence period between the two of them, while chaos continued to reign in the background. This lasted until Emma Sheen's Unit 02 suddenly twisted its head to look in the direction of the hole in the wall, turning on its loudspeakers to keep Jerid and Bright in the loop. "Scarlet Team down! Tower seven reporting three AEUG mobile suits!". Jerid couldn't help but stare in amazement at the idea that Bright's implications were right. Meanwhile, Kacricon Kacooler's Unit 01 rapidly turned on its thrusters and leaped towards its hangar to grab a hold of its arsenal: a cartridge-fed beam rifle, an E-Pac in the receiver and two more stored in the back, along with a modern shield. The pilot was enthusiastic, to say the least. "Scarlet Team is… they must be the new units spotted at the Moon! Hehehe, you don't know how badly I've wanted this showdown to take place… Emma, your weapons! Jerid, a Hi-Zack! Now!" Both shouted affirmatively and ran to their combat posts, as a GM II fell from the artificial skies of the colony, over the house of a poor civilian. << Cutscene End >> - - - <<< Commence Mission >>> "Ok, three, two, one, let’s jam..." Aida's custom mission beginning audioclip played. The match was on. With no further explanation or instructions, not that any were necessary, Aida found himself back on the cockpit of the Airbatel. His machine was in a very wide hangar with open doors, with space for the GM plus three other machines, which he could see by merely looking left: the customized Dynames, the blue Zaku, then the NPD’s Galbaldy. All four of them lied over their own mobile platforms, which started moving forwards automatically after the match started to take them out of the hangar. Patient, Aida waited for the platform to drive him out of the hangar, not wanting to fly through its roof, a popular practice that looked awesome, but was sometimes met with broken optics and antennae. Instead, he addressed his team. To lead them would surely be a ride, but being assigned as the squad leader was hardly the most infrequent thing to happen to him. "Beta Team, this is One. We’ll use provisional numerical callsigns for this assignment, according to your number in the team roster..." he started, but a voice interrupted him almost immediately. "Four, order acknowledged." Aida was a little put off by this, but an intelligence powered by computing power would predictably process things faster than a human. However, this one seemed to lack most of the common sense shown by the NPDs he had fought with and against in solo missions, as evidenced by it not waiting for Aida to finish talking, nor the other two pilots to respond. It also came off as not just serious, but simply devoid of personality or feelings, like a blank slate. Not letting that put him to a halt, he ordered his GM to get up from its stretcher, which had exited the facility, and grab the Shot Lancer that was laying on the floor outside. "Uhhh… Beta Team, ready primary weapons." he continued, slowly panning the camera to find two black Gundams carefully aiming their beam rifles, and a Hi-Zack carelessly shooting at the sky with its machine gun. His IFF showed them as green contacts, which meant they were friendly. "No immediate visual with Alpha, so this is a team battle… We’re up against those four, plus Quattro's boys. You better not let your guard down, Beta!" Surely enough, outside the green colony’s walls, a rusty freighter opened its cargo bays in front of the rather improvised entrance port made by the AEUG, revealing the four machines of Alpha Team inside, ready to deploy and infiltrate the colony...

  24. Hikaru was ready. His schoolwork was done, his Gunpla was prepared and armed, he'd just finished re-watching ZZ Gundam, and and the update to 1.8 Beta was complete. It was quiet in the house hidden in the woods as he pulled on one of his wheelchair's trays. A keyboard, trackball, assorted interface and SD Card ports, and a Gunpla scanner were mounted on it, while the one on the opposing arm was more multi-purpose for eating and Gunpla building. Plugging a networking cable from his chair into the router for an optimal online connection rather than relying on the wireless, he had a choice to make. He had finished the Flying Armor and the Beta Gundam, though he was still not 100% happy with one of the joints on the G-Defenser. Knowing that there was infinite fuel in free-roaming, he elected to simply forgo those flight add-ons and went for the RX-179 Beta Gundam and its various armaments plus the Point Defense Hip Modules, the Saber Claw Module, and the CIWS Shield. Idly noting the different and more fluid version of the 'Please scan your Gunpla' that rang out when compared to version 1.79, he placed the Gunpla on the scanner and the two rings did their work. As the optics of the Gunpla lit up in response, he was already placing the visor down over his head from behind his wheelchair's headrest. The GBN Online Interface built into the boy's wheelchair got to work. When he closed his eyes he was in his room, but when he opened them again after holding them closed for over one second, he had skipped the dive animation and was in the GBN Lobby. That was a little trick he'd read about on the forums, and it was interesting to note that it still worked. The Lobby felt like a ghost town with a few NPDs being the only humanoid beings around. There were also a few mouse-like Elemechu skittering about the lobby, hunting for viruses to attack and bugs to report. Though he knew the receptionist was an NPD, he still gave the character a wave of greeting and received a like reply in kind before heading off to the hangar. Walking on solely digital legs, the boy looked up at the RX-179 Beta Gundam in pleasure that it had translated well. He knew it wasn't the most powerful machine out there, but it would likely have a potential answer to most of what he might encounter. After a quick check of the status console in front of his machine, he climbed into his cockpit and- *SQUEAAAK* The boy stood up fast from the linear seat and looked down, noting the green rodent-like entity which had been searching his machine. Apparently they were a bit overzealous in searching for things like Break Decals these days. Giving a sigh, he gently moved the Elemechu and seated himself. After this matter was resolved, Hikaru wordlessly launched. There was no need to speak where there was no one to hear him, after all. He chose to deploy into an area where players were detected, specifically Side 6' Labot Colony, in hopes of finding his sisters. It was soon after launching that his console brought up an unrelated prompt, though. - << Gundam Generation >> A randomized, dynamic and innovative campaign which reimagines events of every timeline and mixes them up with each other for a one-of-a-kind experience! Stability and playability errors might arise at random. Report any problems with this campaign to the nearest administrator. - Blinking, the teenager then noticed the flare from the direction of Alfred Izuhara's school. Pondering for a moment, and deciding that exploring the new mode sounded like a lot of fun, he elected to add his name to the growing list. << Gundam Generation >> Looking for Divers… (Maximum 8 players) 1. 25. The room was dark, all the lights were off. In the darkness you could see a little bit of movement before the light of a computer slightly illuminated the room and a voice rang out from the speakers “Wake up! Wake up!” The sound was that of a Haro the body moved in the darkness a bit more before the constant calling of the Haro made him get up. Wrapping himself in the blanket he looked on the computer's screen to see that GBN was fully updated and ready for the beta. He looked over to his right to see a gunpla covered in a cloth the light barely catching it. He let out a sigh to show his frustration and started up GBN 1.8. He placed his visor on as the system booted up, and carefully took the cloth off the half finished Gunpla. He looked at it through the visor inspecting it. He was frustrated, this gunpla at half finished wasn't so bad. It was missing a lot of its armament but otherwise it would do just what he wanted. The system finished it boot up and made a simple demand of him. ‘’Please, Scan you Gunpla” He placed his gunpla on the sensor and allowed the rings to scan his machine. The eyes ignited and with that its name appeared on screen. The young man in the chair finished his lock in prep and signed in “ Shin Hakuren “ as he was transported to the world the taste of it left a sour note in his mouth. When he opened his eyes he was once again in GBN’s lobby. It was 1000 times better in his opinion. Less people meant less to worry about. However… He knew some of the other beta testers must be on and that meant he could let loose in that gunpla. Using the commands he teleported himself to the hanger to look up at the machine he had built. He had heard it over and over, people talking about the love to see it like this but to Shin… all it did was make him violently angry. His eyes darted to the left and he opened the command to move him to the cockpit and with that Shin headed to the launch bay. Even though he hated it he had to do it every time, his launch phrase “ Shin Hakuren, Astral AGE Gundam, Eradicating Targets….” with that the machine launched into the air. For Shin this was the first test of this machine. Many of the parts he used made it a little heavier but the thrusters seemed to keep him stable and allow for decent maneuverability. It was then that Shin saw a flare in the sky, he flew around the area as he read the mission details “A randomized, dynamic and innovative campaign which reimagines events of every timeline and mixes them up with each other for a one-of-a-kind experience! Strike foes down on every known battlefield, oppose NPDs or ally with them, and gain exclusive rewards for passing the unmarked side assignments!” He liked the sound of taking on some of the best pilots even if they where NPD’s but from what he was told they were supposed to be much better now so maybe they could pose an actual challenge. He also saw the names on the list and seeing one name that he actually sort of recognized, Creed. If he was the same one he was thinking of maybe the beta test did have just what he was looking for, with that he hit the join button. 26. “What?! You don’t want to try it out?” Kyle was sitting near his desktop computer, complete with a home console to access the latest update to GBN. He was hoping his wife could join him, but she had other plans. “Sorry.” She said. “I’m really busy with another project.” She turned to walk out the door of their gaming room which was filled with Gundam memorabilla. “I’ll play it another time.” Kyle wasn’t surprised. She wasn’t as big of a fan of Gundam as him and hadn’t even created a custom Gunpla yet. Nevertheless, Kyle picked up his work in progress. It was a red and gold Dynames with a few different pieces. He looked to his right, noticing the plethora of Gunpla parts laying next to paint. “I know I should wait until you’re done, but I have to play now!” He thought to himself. Kyle put the Gunpla over the scanner in the middle of the home console, grasping the joysticks while wearing the visor connected to the machine. The dive into the world felt different to Kyle. “Maybe I’m just nervous about the Trinames’ performance.” He thought. As he arrived in the lobby, only one administrator was there, seemingly working with new test NPD’s. Kyle didn’t pay much attention to him though. All he wanted to do was fly around with his new Gunpla. As soon as he was how to teleport to one of the Mobile Suit hangars, he noticed an advertisement for McDaniel. Romario Monini smiled as he held up a cheeseburger, with red and yellow flowing behind him. Kyle smirked at the ad. “Looks even better in the game…” The Trinames was rather shiny inside the game, especially the gold covering the shield. As Kyle got inside the cockpit, he was greeted by his old friend. It was a red Haro, wearing its own Char Aznable mask. “Kyle! Kyle!” The Diver smiled. “it’s great to see you, Haro! You ready for some fun!” Haro jumped with glee into its slot. “Fun! Fun!” Kyle headed toward the catapult as he finally got to call out his new machine. “Trinames! Kyle O’Connor! Launching!” The sniping mobile suit catapulted away, flying around the game’s world. “This feels great!” He yelled as he moved his right arm around, practicing aiming with the connected Smart Beam Gun. He gently landed on one of the nearby buildings as he opened up his menu. “What mission do I go with?” He thought. At first, he was going to pick one of the tutorial battles, but he knew how easy those were for him. Plus, he’d already completed them multiple times, ruining the surprise. “Maybe I can get another person to practice with me. Wait!” He exclaimed “I’m sure there’s a campaign that’ll test my sniping abilities.” He scrolled down, passing various campaigns for long ranged Gunpla, but one regular campaign caught his attention. “Gundam Generation?” - << Gundam Generation >> A randomized, dynamic and innovative campaign which reimagines events of every timeline and mixes them up with each other for a one-of-a-kind experience! Haro! Take me to that location.” The robot chirped “Roger!” Haro flew towards them as Kyle got a closer look. One appeared to be a modified GM III while the other was a kitbashed Saviour Gundam. “Interesting…” Kyle locked his name onto the roster, having Haro land next to them. “Hello there!” said Kyle. << Gundam Generation >> Looking for Divers… (Maximum 8 players) 1. 27. It was all just a glorified test. For once Marco didn’t fully understand all the cloak and dagger nonsense his sponsors had been going on about. Marco didn’t care that much about whatever motives they had so long as they kept him well funded. Marco’s biggest concern over the beta was being challenged. NPDs had a history of being pushovers in his opinion and this latest update promised the world in terms or AI difficulty. That’s all that Marco cared about, otherwise he wouldn’t have been so open to being drafted for this gig. The computer repeated its request for perhaps the upteenth time and Marco hardly noticed as he slid his fingers over the delicate details of his Gunpla. By reputation he wasn’t exactly known for making extravagant out of the box models but he was renowned for his attention to detail and for the slight modifications he managed to cram into his Gunpla. "Please, scan your Gunpla" Again the man hardly hurried his comply but did so this time around. “Show them what you’ve got…” he murmured as Marco logged in to follow his model turn machine. He soon found himself standing at the foot of his creation, nearly inverting the previous perspective he had just a moment earlier. He looked around at the world and noted the slack population on the server and again questioned Zapp’s intentions of sending him into this beta, he knew it wouldn’t be for the last time either. As he approached his machine he marveled at the perspective again and whistled to himself. “Boy you sure do dress up nice on this server… Zero…” By association he had to give his machine the somewhat dorky designation of ZAPP-013. Which he didn’t mind all that much, to him his Gunpla was simply known as the Zero Saviour. A highly modified version of the Saviour Gundam he was eager to test out its abilities at last. He climbed into his machine and launched out into the open world. He put the machine through its paces using the free energy to test out the transformation between mobile suit and mobile armor. He pulled a couple of hard turns and other maneuvers before feeling satisfied with what he had so far. The zero ran fairly light, he had contemplated adding a nuclear reactor or some other power supply but enjoyed the challenge the battery life often offered him, the trade off of less weight seemed to feel rewarding at the moment. As he climbed up to a higher altitude in the open world he noticed a flicker arcing up towards the clouds. A flare? Marco pondered, his question being answered by the “V” appearing in the sky and pointing down to a GM of sorts on the ground. “Hmm why not…” he mused as he pulled the Zero into a bank towards the invitation. As he approached he looked up the details of the mission. He didn’t particularly care, one challenge was as good as the next. He looked at the roster and studied the single name, it wasn’t anyone he recognized. He locked his name onto the roster then brought Zero in for a low flyby of the unit. He pitched back around before transforming and finally perching besides the GM. He opened an audio channel “greetings.” << Gundam Generation >> Looking for Divers… (Maximum 8 players) 1. 30. Marco’s Gunpla Collection Name of the unit: Gundam Bael Base original design: Gundam Bael Name of the operator: Marco Creed This is just a high detailed version of the Gundam Bael. Occasionally Marco likes to make a simple vanilla version of a mech he enjoys. Defensive systems: Nano Filament - offers exceptional resistance to beam weaponry at the cost of being frail to physical damage. Weapon system: N/A Melee weapons: Bael sword x 2; Sword Mace x 1 (Barbatos) Projectile weapons: electromagnetic cannon x 2 (close range, mounted on top of thruster wings) Shield: N/A Power system: Ahab reactor x 2 (offers no bonuses) Any other special abilities/features: High performance thrusters - offers additional speed and maneuverability at the cost of additional armaments. ***** Name of the unit: Zero Savior Gundam Base original design: ZGMF-X23S Saviour Gundam Name of the operator: Marco Creed The Zero Savior is Marco’s mash up of the Saviour Gundam with aspects of the Gundam Epyon. While the chassis is largely unchanged from the original Saviour it does have a noticeable difference in the beam rifle being replaced by Epyon’s beam sword. Two of the “super fortis” canons were removed in order to conserve power for the beam sword, as well as reduce weight. The two shoulder mounted beam sabers have been swapped out for additional thrusters instead. The “soul” as Marco puts it, is heavily influenced by Epyon with the addition of the Zero System. The Zero Saviour was intended to be used as high speed attack unit with high output, but risky drawbacks from high power consumption. Defensive systems: Variable Phase Shift Armor - offers exceptional resistance to physical damage at the cost of power consumption. Weapon system: Zero system - offers exceptional target acquisition at the cost of zoning out the rest of the battlefield. Melee weapons: Beam sword - offers exceptionally high cutting power at the cost of energy consumption, beam can be lengthened dramatically, directly powered via cable, hand-carried in use. Projectile weapons: 2 x MMI-GAU25A 20mm CIWS, mounted in head; 2 x M106 "Amfortas" plasma beam cannon, mounted on backpack, can be fired in mobile suit and mobile armor mode; 2 x MMI-GAU2 "Picus" 76mm machine gun (Mobile armor only); Shield: MMI-RD11 aerodynamic shield, mounted on left arm- anti beam coated, reliable and heavy. 32. Aida's Gunpla Collection #1 - RGM-86CT(+FXA-05CT) (Super) Cosmotel GM / RGM-86AT Airbatel GM / RGM-86QT(DA) Aquatel (Diver) GM Base Unit: RGM-86 GM III Operator: Aida Defensive Systems: (Body) Conventional Materials - Lightweight armor, good mobility. (Shields) Anti-Beam Coating - Exceptional resistance to beams, at the cost of being frail to physical damage. Special System: EXAM System - Increases speed, thruster output and decreases reaction times by disabling every safety limiter in the unit. However, this causes the systems to overheat, eventually exploding if EXAM isn't safely disabled. Safe deactivation reboots every system in the MS and leaves it temporarily immobile. Melee Weapons: Beam Saber - Standard mobile suit weapon, offers exceptional cutting power at the cost of power consumption. Two units are housed in the back skirt piece as a backup melee system. The exact model of these beam sabers is unknown, as is the donor kit they were acquired from, while their beams often change colors to match that of the head optics, themselves recolored every time Tel-GM is repainted. (Cosmotel) Shot Lancer - A weapon able to pierce heavy armor at high speeds, it saves up space and carrying capacity by being both a melee and a ranged weapon. It was taken from a Den’An’Zon of a larger scale, and modified to be used by the 1/144 Hyaku Shiki arms. It can also be mounted on the GM-Defenser to give it a measure of self-defense. (Airbatel) 9.1m Anti Ship Sword - A pair of optional blades that can be carried into battle to conserve energy and engage enemies with immunity to beam attacks, taken from the Strike Gundam’s IWSP Striker Pack. Forearm Heat Dagger - A short blade mounted in the right forearm as an emergency weapon, it can be heated up or used cold to attack enemies with immunity to beam attacks. (Aquatel) Vice Claw Kai - Integrated into the Hygogg arms, they are an improved version of the Gogg's Iron Nails. They can be used as simplified manipulators or as close combat weapons. The arms' new joints improved the Vice Claws' combat capabilities. Daniel’s expertise with Zeonic kits allowed him to improve the Vice Claws with optional heat capacitors for added lethality. Projectile Weapons: 60mm Vulcan - A standard armament of mobile suits that belong to or descend from the Earth Federation's RX series, this pair of head-mounted shell firing weapons have a high-rate of fire, but little power and are generally ineffective against mobile suits. However, they can damage lightly armored areas such as the sensors, and are ideal for shooting down small, lightly armored targets such as missiles, personnel or small vehicles. Two additional guns came with the Wing Gundam antennae installed on the sides of the head, largely identical in capabilities to the original units, but doubling the firepower and ammo pool of the head. (Cosmotel) Shot Lancer - A weapon able to fire shells automatically for dealing physical damage with a high rate of fire, but limited ammunition. It saves up space and carrying capacity by being both a melee and a ranged weapon. It was taken from a Den’An’Zon of a larger scale, and modified to be used by the 1/144 Hyaku Shiki arms. It can also be mounted on the GM-Defenser to give it a measure of self-defense. (Airbatel) DODS Rifle Kai - Can deal high energy damage at the cost of power consumption and rate of fire. It has been taken from an AGE-1 Gundam and modified to be fed by the Airbatel’s reactor, eliminating the need for resupply. 2-Tube Grenade Launcher - Can deal high damage at the expense of very limited ammo. Attached to the forearms of the Airbatel, these detachable grenade launchers are found on Stark Jegan kits, and can be loaded with different types of grenades. MMI-M15 "Xiphas" Railgun - A pair of railguns that are mounted on the waist, they have excellent rate of fire and high ammunition capacity. Folded into three parts when not in use, they can be used to deal with situations where beam weapons are ineffective. They were taken from a Freedom Gundam and installed on Airbatel as they were. (Aquatel) Beam Cannon Kai - Integrated into the Hygogg arms, they count with a high rate of fire, and all the advantages of energy weapons. An alternative firing mode added by Daniel can allow it to fire charged shots, but they're still not as lethal as shots fired from a dedicated beam rifle. Shield: (Cosmotel) NFHI RGM-M-Sh-AGD Shield - Reliable and heavy shield taken from a 0083 GM Command, it has been given anti-beam coating as per standard procedure to allow Cosmotel to resist a measure of beam damage with it. The inside of the shield can store spare magazines or a surplus spike for the Shot Lancer. (Airbatel) RX·VSh-023F/S-04712 Shield - Reliable and heavy shield taken from a GP01, it has been given anti-beam coating as per standard procedure to allow Airbatel to resist a measure of beam damage with it. It can be folded or extended at will to save space or defend the Mobile Suit respectively. Power System: Minovsky Ultracompact Fusion Reactor - Offers unparalleled power at the cost of expense and environmental danger if damaged. Its power ratings are unknown but supposed to allow the Tel-GM to fire its weapons leisurely under normal conditions. Special Abilities/Features: (Cosmotel) FXA-05CT GM-Defenser - A support craft that is able to dock with the Cosmotel, granting it extra propulsion in MS mode and the name of Super Cosmotel, along with a very simplistic MA mode for cruising at high speeds and evading enemy fire. It includes powerful twin beam cannons. It counts with limited AI functionality: when separate from Airbatel, it can be instructed to use the Shot Lancer mounted on its front to ram and impale a specific Mobile Suit, or fire upon it with the dual beam cannons. (Airbatel) Fatum-01 Kai - The Infinite Justice Gundam’s support craft, it is armed with two MA-6J "Hyper Fortis" beam cannons, two MR-Q17X "Griffon 2" beam blade, one MA-M02G "Super Lacerta" beam saber and two MA-M02S "Preface Lacerta" beam saber. It can serve as a flight pack in the atmosphere, or detach and function independently thanks to its AI system and remote control capabilities. In this form, it can either serve as a separate support unit or as a subflight unit. The unit also features two foldable handles on the underside, allowing Mobile Suits to grab onto it. It has been modified to be able to carry spare parts or cargo. (Aquatel) Diver Suit - A set of Master Grade pieces that can be “worn” by certain Gunpla, based on The O, the Hygogg and the Byarlant Custom. The massive thruster array has been modified to offer high performance and mobility underwater, while the additional pieces also grant an additional level of protection to the Gunpla underneath. When not of any use, they can be ejected, freeing up the Gunpla inside. It also counts with a very primitive AI, which allows for it to serve as a sentry or Mobile Doll when empty. It was designed by Daniel for use with his personal Gunpla, but Aida’s Aquatel is fully compatible with it.

  33. Yuna maintained a smug expression as she talked. She didn’t strike as a devious type, at least not openly. It was also obvious that he couldn’t get much more information out of her than he did already. Taking in a deep breath he forced a smile, “very well then, I’m sorry about this mix up. You are free to leave.” He walked towards the door but paused and raised his finger in the air, “there is one thing I’d like to ask first though.” He turned on his heel, “does the guild still accept freelance jobs?” Perhaps there was a way Yuna could still gain from this interaction still. —— The team building exercise went off without a hitch. Soon they were all watching some anime together and even Nathaniel had to admit it was a pleasant distraction. During one of the breaks between shows he got up and motioned to Kali to come into the hallway to talk to him. “So… Kali… I didn’t want to put you on the spot but what did you mean by participating? What did you have in mind exactly?” It was an honest question and Nathaniel held no accusation in his tone. -Kali took a moment to think, “I figured perhaps a support role similar to how I helped you and the team on the field.” She resided sheepishly, “Plus I don’t have a lot of military experience, I think training would help.” She added Nathaniel gave the girl a side eye glance, unsure of how sincere she was being. “Well for what’s it’s worth your quick thinking proved to be invaluable. Good instincts really!” He stroked his chin as he considered his words carefully. “Let me ask you. How did you feel loosing your home to that ZAFT attack?” The question was seemingly off topic but he needed to get a better feel for the girls truest intentions. - She smiled with satisfaction and beamed with pride at the compliment. The emotions were short-lived when he ask how she felt losing her home. She rescued from the rubble of her apartment building luckily her parents were not in the same building, “I felt lost, scared.. in the rubble. I was rescued by field officers from the Archangel. I am grateful for my life. Mama and papa are safe as well. I feel indebted to you and the captain, I want to do what I can to help you as you did me.” She said earnestly. He nodded patiently as he listened. “There’s a difference between owing a debt and being a soldier. I want to make sure you understand that.” He paused to weigh his own words, almost wondering if it was a talk he should be having with Roane instead. “There are no half measures on the battlefield… what I need to know from you is if I can rely on you with my life? And not just my life but everyone else’s in there?” He pointed a finger at the room they were standing outside of. He bit his lip to stop himself from getting worked up to much. He forced a smile, “if you can commit like that… then I’ll see about getting you transferred under my command.” His tone was edgy if not scary but that was war. He just didn’t want to drag whoever felt like it with him he had enough to deal with it as it was. On the same hand she held her weight without a mobile suit and that wasn’t anything to scoff at either. Nathaniel eyed Kali patiently. - Kali thought for a moment and smiled softly, “I disagree Lieutenant. When I say indebted it is not as simple as paying a debt back. Perhaps I misspoke. I see what lengths you and your team have gone through, including the captain. It is that resolve that saved my life. That is what you instilled in me and it that same resolve I will use you save you and anyone else in the team. No matter the cost.” She said smiling her eyes teary, “Men are more ready to repay an injury than a benefit, because gratitude is a burden and revenge a pleasure.” She recited, “Publius Cornelius Tacitus, a Roman historian and politician.” She added, “Don’t you think the sentiment can go either way?” A smile etched itself on Nathaniel’s face, Kali was certainly full of surprises. He wasn’t ready for a philosophical debate but he could appreciate her candor. “I suspect you’re willing to prove that very point?” He asked grinning. “I’ll talk to the captain shortly…. Private…” he offered a wink at the rank change and nodded to the door. “Enjoy the rest of the evening, I’m glad you’re on the team now!” His gratitude was sincere as he held the door for her. - Kali couldn’t help but look at the Lieutenant in awe and joy, “I am.” She responded. Her smile broadened and pride lit up her face at the rank. She didn’t even have a rank when she started but now she felt like she found her place, “Yessir.” She said confidently, “Thank you.” She said softly. Nathaniel paused outside the door but didn’t follow. Instead he smirked thinking it would be best if the team bonded without the “boss” for awhile and instead opted to going to Hawthorne's office to report and make his request. A few moments later he was standing at attention inside the Captains Office which double as her quarters. “At ease” she commanded, and Nathaniel let his hands slide behind his back. He smirked as he vaguely recalled that they would call the pose “duck tails” or something equally absurd when he was in grade school. “Ma’am?” He asked cautiously as Delphine rounded the desk, stomping towards Nathaniel and slapping him hard across the face. He nearly staggered to the floor but caught his footing and reached up to stroke his red cheek. “What the hell?” He hissed in confusion. “Don’t ever pull that hero crap again do you hear me?” She stood close to him feeling her offending hand but keeping her arms lowered. There was a look in her eyes, rimmed with moistness. “You know how it is Delphine…” Nathaniel scolded, “there’s no way in hell I’m letting my pilots bite the dust instead of me.” He glared at her for a long while but couldn’t bring himself to say anything else as he saw the emotions, she wasn’t willing to say. Slowly his hand dripped from his face to reach out and caress hers. They looked at each other for a long moment before he leaned in to kiss her. He was tired of fighting, tired of giving his all for no recognition beyond a paycheck. Most of all he was tired of feeling lonely, and right now Delphine was eager enough to make him not feel so lowly. What matter at that moment, was the here and now. Nathaniel wasn’t going to concern himself with the details. He didn’t stop her when she began to paw at his uniform, pulling them both towards her bed. —- The next few days the Archangel flew closer to the homeland, she was close enough for some shore leave which a few members took advantage of sporadically. She conveyed the results of the ambush and was directed to patrol the nation for any possible invasions. The assignment Chromatic team well; and they went to business, doing exactly as Nathaniel had promised. The team worked on drills and spent time addressing each person’s personal concern. Nothing was off the table as they went over everything from Mobile Suit maintenance, to firearm marksmanship. Nathaniel knew they had a long way until he would feel confident in their abilities, but maybe if they could function appropriately as a team everything else would fall into place. Nathaniel didn’t want to train mindless drones, he wanted to mold a squad of elite soldiers. He paid particular interest to Purple Frame’s new pilot Kali. The notion right now was that she would function as a back up pilot, but with no alternative she was assigned the extra unit along with the newest operating system that Morgenroete had developed. News trickled in that manufacturing of mass produced Astrays was fully under way, and that the first batch would be rolling out within a matter of weeks if not days. The politics back home didn’t settle down in the timeframe during the Archangel’s deployment. News soon spread of the attack on the Archangel and there was immense backlash against the Sieran family from their suspected ties. The crisis delayed the vote of the new chairman for a few more weeks, a move the other families saw as a desperate power grab from Lord Atha. Lord Sahaku on the other hand patiently played his hand, working the politics carefully. Everything changed on the morning of the election however. —- “Gentlemen it is with a heavy heart that I conduct this order of business. All ballots will be cast anonymously in this box here…” Lord Atha announced as he patted the ballot box in the middle of the conference table. “since I am stepping down from office…” The words were carefully chosen although everyone in the room knew he was being outed, “I will officiate the voting and only cast a vote myself in the event of tie.” The box was passed around with all the noble lords putting their votes into the box. Before long it was returned to Lord Atha who took several agonizing moments carefully making the tally. He closed his eyes and sighed out loud as he put the box away. “The new leader of our great country is Lord Sahaku.” The young Lord offered a cat like smile at the announcement, and stood up holding his hands up in thanks. He moved to the head of the table much to the glare of Lord Sieran who seemed on the verge of yelling out in an outrage. “My lords, thank you very much for your confidence. I promis-“ “This is an outrage! I demand a revote!” Everyone gawked at Lord Sieran who now stood up from his seat, “There’s no way you all want to follow this fool to this country’s demise?” He looked around accusingly as he held a hand out towards the new chairman. No one spoke up and it was Lord Sieran who finally replied, “Lord Sieran…..we conducted our vote to the rule… pleas-“ “I will not!” Lord Sieran yelled out in anger. He looked one more time for support from anyone on the council, but he received none. Grunting out in rage he stormed out from the conference room. Almost immediately camera flashed dazzled the Lord who looked bewildered. It was at that moment he decided to act, calling out loudly to the media. “Please! I will address all your concerns as your newly appointed chairman in due time!” The media frenzy and confusion followed the Lord as he almost ran to his car where Yuna waited patiently for his father. Lord Sahaku didn’t lash out as he caught some of the absurdities that Lord Sieran was spewing out. Instead, he quietly retreated to his office to handle the growing situation. “Well father what happened?” Yuna asked impatiently as his father slammed the door behind him. “Activate the auxiliary units! Driver! Take us to my bunker immediately!” Yuna wasted no time in doing his father’s bidding and pulled out his phone to make several calls. —— “Scramble! Scramble!” The commander of the first M1 Astray platoon cried out to his loyal men who ran into the Morgenroete factory on Onogoro island. Within minutes the entire facility was taken over by Lord Sieran loyalist who commandeered the newly constructed weapons. By the time the mobile suits began to march out of the factory there were at least a dozen suits ready to roll out with a dozen more nearly complete. The simple act of Sieran commanding troops to take over key military assets cemented the reality of what was happening, Lord Sieran was attempting a Coup. —— Hawthorne was sitting in the Captain’s chair when the call came in. “Ma’am it’s a call from command, they want to talk to you.” “Very well I’ll take it in my office.” The comm officer shook her head in response, “they’re insisting to address you in front of the crew.” Delphine gulped, that didn’t sound like a good thing, but she nodded, “alright put it through.” The display on the bridge and throughout the ship lit up and Lord Sahaku appeared, “My brave soldiers of the Orb Union. I am recalling the Archangel this instant. I have been elected as the rightful ruler of our nation and we must act swiftly to put down a rebellion by Lord Sieran. Our intelligence now believes that it was Lord Sieran who attempted to have the Archangel captured in the battle at the training site. To make matters worse, he’s acted quickly in securing Morgenroete, and we believe he is activating the M1 Astrays to fight for his outrageous claims as leader.” Despite herself Delphine put her hand up to her lips to hide the shock etched on her face. Her trance was interrupted by Lord Sahaku talking directly to her, “Captain, do you have the resolve to do your duty and take down these traitors?” Hawthorne sat up straight in her chair, “Of course sir! I speak for my crew when I say that we will do what needs to be done to protect the homeland.” She put on a brave front to show her resolve not just to the chairman but to her entire crew. Lord Sahaku nodded approvingly, “Good! I want your ship to proceed to Onogoro and recapture our facilities. It will be a set back, for each M1 you have to destroy, but if we don’t act quickly we might have Alliance troops landing on our shores rallying to Sieran. The Archangel will be the spearhead in this counterattack. Do our country proud!” The transmission ended and Hawthorne looked around to gauge the reaction of all her crew on the bridge. Nodding she announced, “All hands to your battle stations! Make our course the Morgenroete factory! All mobile suit pilots prepare for combat! This is not a drill!” —— Nathaniel didn’t have time to let shock settle in for him. Indeed, he let anger fuel his response as he got ready. He hated to learn that he had been betrayed by one of the Lords of his nation, they almost died at the hands of such a greedy politician. Zipping up his flight suit, Nathaniel paused as he held the helmet. He looked around to see his teammates trickling into the locker room too, all in various stages of getting ready. He grimaced as he considered that this next mission could get bloody and pulled the helmet over his face and sealed the visor. A few moments later he was in the cockpit of Gold Frame. He went through the sequence to fire up the operating system and activate all the sensors. He nervously checked the status of the latest gadget to be added onto his mobile suit, a prototype flight back. In theory it would let him cover a lot of ground quickly. One by one he saw the status icon of his team coming online. He hesitated before opening a comm channel with everyone. “I want a straight answer from everyone. If you want to sit this mission out, then tell me right now. There’s a good chance we’ll be fighting other Orb soldiers and if you can’t live with it then I need to know.” His tone reflected his serious nature, he was still worked up from the revelation, so he sounded angry even. “Just know that what we do, we do for all of Orb. We can’t have our National resources being controlled by illegitimate sources.”

  34. The steady hum of his motorcycle was drowned out by the pouring rain that had managed to ambush Albus just as he was headed home. He had just been driving, roaming the streets of Tokyo without purpose. Sumeragi had put him on standby and that had made him restless. The Gundam Meister felt like a caged animal, foregoing all of the various forms of entertainment Tokyo had to offer in favour of having his own angst-fuelled pity party across the city at large, a tour cut short by the sudden influx of rain. Albus was about to make the turn onto his street when he saw it—or rather, her. Saji’s sister, Kinue Crossroad, running down a side-street and ducking into an alley, shoeless and soaked. The Meister pulled his bike over to a secluded spot and shut off the engine, watching as two imposing toughs entered the alley after Kinue. That doesn’t look good… Albus swung his leg over the bike and began working his helmet off his head as he made his way to the mouth of the alley. From within, he could hear an exchange—Kinue in distress, the flick of hidden blades, the same kind of tough guy chatter all the tough guys out there spew. Albus stood, silhouetted by the street lights, taking a second to assess his situation. He had the element of surprise—it’d be fairly easy to get the drop on the— The sound of screeching tires on the nearby street caused the thugs to turn their heads. Noticing him, they tried to warn him off, but Albus had already consigned himself to violence. Leaving Kinue here wasn’t an option. He tightened his grip on the helmet and cracked his neck. Albus tried to think of something clever, something heroic to say. “Tch,” was all he managed before he started to advance. The thugs redoubled their efforts to threaten him, waving their knives at him as he approached. But when Albus was within range, he swung his helmet at one, letting it fly as he grabbed the knife hand of the other with his own metal hand, squeezing as hard as he could. The second thug batted the helmet away with ease and tried to lunge at the Meister, only for his knife to be knocked out of his hand with a swift axe kick that left him reeling. Albus squeezed harder on the hand until he heard the delicate bones within begin to crunch. He then proceeded to swing the thug around, guiding him to stumble towards the entrance of the alley rather than the brick wall at the last second. Easy does it, He wanted to help her, not scare her. The second thug came at him again, his charge stunted by a side kick to the gut followed by a tornado kick that sent him crashing to the ground. Albus landed on the slick pavement and only just managed to keep his footing. He grabbed the thug he had just knocked out by his shirt and tossed him towards his buddy with the broken hand. “You’re gonna’ want to ice that,” Albus smirked. “If I catch you around here again—or anyone from whatever rinky-dink operation you come from—I’ll do more than break a hand. A lot more. Now get lost,” The thug scowled but nonetheless helped his partner to his feet. Once both of them had scurried off into the night-time deluge, Albus turned to Kinue and offered her his metal hand. “Let’s get you someplace dry, huh?”

  35. The midnight blue-haired figure, dressed in a matching turtleneck with a brown coat and pants, would receive the news immediately upon sitting down. They took a moment to breathe in and looked out the window, spotting a white vintage convertible with a red synthetic leather top. Breathing out, their mind harkened back to driving the delightful vehicle into the parking lot minutes ago. Their contact in Sydney, an Observer who went by the moniker “Numbat”, had really gone out of their way to disguise modern equipment as historical replicas from the twentieth century. From the white convertible and its chrome “Saab 9000” badge, secretly an electric vehicle that benefited from the same breakneck acceleration as a modern sports car, to the modernized Browning HP pistols in the bag, blued with polished wood grips and chambered in a more contemporary cartridge. And then, their gift to the Meister, now trying to pierce a hole through the inner pocket of their cashmere coat: a replica of a Borchardt C93 pistol, originally made in what was now AEU territory, chambered in the same caliber as the Brownings to bring the weapon into the twenty-fourth century. The heavy but exquisite silver pistol with white pearl grips wasn’t a weapon as much as it was a piece of art, a statement in class, a heirloom from a more civilized, if simple age. The thought of putting on the white rubber gloves and using any of the pistols almost made Rai flinch, even though they knew Numbat personally, and knew the weapon’s eccentric owner probably kept authentic units of each model to themselves in a cold, dark cellar. “Well,” the Meister finally exclaimed, “so much for subtlety. It appears we will have to see for ourselves how well these work in the right here, right now. Unless you want me to have a go at that...” Rai pointed at Christina’s closed laptop, before dedicating Multi a warm smile, and making what could be interpreted as a sarcastic joke. “It could potentially save us from ridicule. You know, by the woman who can’t hold her liquor and the man who instead failed to maintain possession of a shield the size of two premium apartments?”

  36. A woman’s voice responded to his hail, informed him that she was having difficulty keeping her cargo secure in that familiar Scottish brogue he himself possessed in a slightly diluted fashion. She seemed insistent on calling him Mac, too, which caused him to quirk a brow and grimace. It was not a nickname he was used to, but to each their own and besides, he was too focused on the battle to mind. Then, from above a shower of junk pelted him and his comrades, as well as the opponents from whom they were trying to retreat. “Ach, the hell?” Roane asked as he watched the junk plane strafe across the sky. The woman hailed him again and this time the Red Frame pilot frowned in consternation. “Yeah, great, thanks,” he said to himself in the cockpit. “’Can’t keep my cargo secure my bleeding arse’,” he then muttered as he backed the Red Frame to safety. He boarded the Archangel at last and, once his mobile suit was secure in the hangar, sat back in his pilot’s chair and heaved a deep, long breath. Only then did he become cognizant of the tension that wracked his body, the muscles in his arms and legs twisted into firm, unrelenting knots—coiled springs threatening to burst. He remembered the breathing exercises they had taught him, went through them with measured time. In…2…3…4…out…2…3…4…5…. It was no good though. The more he tried to focus on relaxing, the more the fear trickled in. He had frozen on the battlefield, embarrassingly so. The lieutenant had even had to chastise him for it, and then he practically went berserk. He was lucky that he didn’t accidentally harm any of his teammates. I’m not a soldier… He had to remind himself of that fact. Everyone else out there with him had some sort of experience that he did not, the quintessential ‘it’ factor that separated the warriors from the people like him. He knew the Red Frame inside and out, knew how to make it sing as only a mobile suit can. But he didn’t know how to unlock its true potential, to see it actualize into the weapon that it fully and truly was meant to be. Maybe it would simply be a matter of time—but if he kept performing the way he had today they would kick him out and find someone more suited for the job. Then he’d be letting himself and the Princess down. Roane slammed his fists on the console, trying his best to avoid any sensitive pieces of equipment. He wanted to leave the cockpit but feared the reprimand that was invariably waiting for him beyond it. He pictured Nathan’s face—a man barely his elder—with its cool but stern aloofness bearing down on him. Roane didn’t particularly like the man—didn’t hate him either—it was a consequence of their meeting, he knew. But some part of him, quite possibly a heretofore unaddressed competitive side, still yearned for his respect as a member of the team. “But I blew it,” he muttered to himself, staring at the darkened screens around him.

  37. "Again." "AGAIN. COME ON GENEVA!" Time and time again, the Blue Frame kept taking a beating from its AI opponent. With her small range of weaponry, the pilot wondered how she'd even be able to take down a squad of GINN's, let alone the red machine Nathaniel fought. "I don't get it..." She wondered, the Blue Frame beginning to power down. "This is a top of the line mobile suit. I took down two GINN's in reality. Why can't I take anything down in this?" Geneva rested her head on her hand as the cockpit door swiveled open. She felt horribly defeated, only to notice in array of weapons near their mobile suits. "T-those are for us, right?" She hoped the mechanics wouldn't get angry with her question, not wishing to ruin a higher up's loadout plan. However, it seemed as if the pilots would have a little more control than she had once thought... Soon after, she joined up with the rest of the important crew members in the Archangel's briefing room. For the first time, she was able to see who the other pilots even were, though she wasn't yet sure who was piloting what. The one who caught her attention the most had blinding white hair and a scary expression. "Better not mess with him." Geneva thought while noticing the other's uniforms. It was official. These people were apart of her team for good, so she knew there would have a be an eventual time to become friendly with them, much to her dismay. As she listened more to her superior speak, she learned that the "Astray Wing" unit was going to be leaving the vicinity, heading for a training ground. "Wait... Maybe I can try that rifle combo, or that bazooka!" Thoughts raced through her head, wondering if piloting the mobile suit in real life again would help with her lacking abilities. Whatever the case, they were leaving soon and she HAD to be ready to prove herself worthy to be a Frame pilot.

  38. “What’s the matter? Did I leave you speechless? Did I take your breath—” Albus pulled the Exia away from the crushed Enact and caught sight of the blood that was leaking from the cockpit, the blood that spattered against the Exia’s dark shoulder. “…away…” Shit….SHIT! The Meister’s eyes, hidden away by the tint of his visor, widened in surprise. He hadn’t been strictly prohibited from dealing with his enemies lethally but this was only supposed to be a demonstration. He didn’t know about Rai and the others, but he hadn’t come here to kill anyone, not without reason. Albus watched the spectators to his accidental murder flee the scene in terror. All except two—a blonde haired man and his companion stood in the stands, staring at him and the wreckage of the Enact respectively. The Exia turned to return Graham’s stare, but inside Albus began to shake. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. I’m supposed to be a Hero… The Meister tried to suppress his emotions. He knew that this thing had a camera with a direct feed to the Ptolemaios and that Veda—that omniscient spectre that pulled the strings of Celestial Being—could probably sense something was off. That data, he had no doubt, would be relayed back to Sumeragi or worse, Rai. Albus bit his lip. Get a hold of yourself, you coward, He raised the GN sword slowly, pointing its tip at the blonde man staring at him as if to say ‘do something about it,’ before the fire of incoming Hellions drew his attention away. The Exia crouched and the leapt up into the sky, carried off by the power of the GN Drive towards the approaching enemies. Rai’s voice came in over his radio and the other Meister’s words caused a scowl to creep across Albus’s face. “It’s all just numbers to you, huh? You’re no better than that damn computer,” There’s no avoiding it now…this is part of the job, “Fine,” Albus whispered to himself as he reconfigured the GN Sword into its gun mode. As he glided up past the Hellions, the Exia turned elegantly and rained fire upon them. Albus’s face was a stony mask of dissociation as he watched them smoulder and plummet towards the ground, two of them colliding and exploding along the way. “This is Exia, reporting a…mission complete. I’m moving to exfiltrate and rendezvous with Virtue,”

  39. There was a perceptible change in Orga’s demeanour and spirit as the two of them continued their desperate struggle. Icarus didn’t know what had happened, but the Flag broke the lock with a kick to the Leo’s torso, knocking the OZ suit away before turning tail and retreating. Icarus, clutching at his controls, made to pursue, but stopped himself. Something seemed to ring out in his head, calling to him, telling him to let his opponent live to fight another day. Is this…guilt? Swords in hand, the Leo hung in the air, watching as the Flag sped away before turning to face his comrades. The two other Flags sat in crumpled heaps in various states of destruction. Icarus looked at the smouldering pile of metal in front of the Star Dueller and frowned as the sounds of his friend’s jeering reached his ears. “Haha, daaamn man. What were you thinking? You didn’t even try to dodge those missiles,” Million continued to laugh excitedly. “If this is all the challenge this mission has to offer, we’ve got this baby locked down.” “Mill,” Icarus said, hailing her on his radio. “Tone it down,” “Huh? What? Why?” “Just…” Icarus looked over at the remains of Shani’s suit and then to the Jager Astray. “We’re not out of the woods yet, is all. This is a multi-stage mission, we’ve still got a way to go and we shouldn’t be celebrating yet,” “Uh, okay, sure,” Million knit her brows together. “Sorry, I guess.” He and Million turned and watched as the shuttle shot up the mass driver and onwards through the atmosphere. Their shuttle came soon after and while they waited, no one on the team seemed particularly keen on discussing the mission so far, or anything else for that matter. It wasn’t until they had linked back up with Lacus’s shuttle out in space that Aker finally broke the silence and posed a question to the group: ‘why do you fight?’ Why do I fight…? Icarus mulled the question around in his head. I mean, the easy answer is that this is just a game. I fight to win and in winning I am awarded with the means to make myself stronger. The diver looked over to the Jager Astray and frowned. But I suppose it’s not a game to him, is it? “If I’m being honest with you, Aker,” Icarus said finally, looking out into the cold reaches of space. “I fight because the game asks me to. Because we can’t win if I don’t fight.” He closed his eyes and thought of the living mobile suit that they had fought a few missions back. “Sure, we have the option to lay down our arms and say ‘no’, but the game—this world—as far as I understand it, won’t lay down theirs in return. If we had sat there and refused to fight those three just now, what would’ve happened? They would have shot us down, without hesitation.” Icarus let out a sigh and opened his eyes. “So I guess that’s my answer. I fight because I have no other reasonable choice,”

  40. ((group collab thanks guys!)) Aker heard his name called out and turned around to see the two new mechs perched at the oil rig. Before he could look at Icarus he saw Wade’s machine approach in for a landing as well. He tilted his head as he realized the extra machine then looked at Icarus and the girl he brought with him. Finally the words registered in his head and he forced a polite smile even though he was slightly more nervous around an unknown diver. “Hey Icarus!” He waved back as he walked towards his teammate. Aker’s Fleurs uniform flapped in the wind some as a particularly strong gust hit his back. He approached forward and offered his hand to the lady while answering Icarus. “Of course! Any friend of Icarus is a friend of mine! My name is Aker, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” He realized he must have looked quite the sight standing there like that in the wind and nodded to their lounge. “Let’s catch up inside?” He asked and nodded to Wade as their fearless leader showed up not far behind Icarus. Aker lead the way and soon they were all inside the comfortable interior of their force nest. -Icarus smiled faintly as everyone convened. Even Wade, showed up with delightfully good timing. “You can call me Million,” his pink haired friend said as she shook hands with Aker. She said it loud enough for Wade to hear as well, giving him a wave as she approached. The four of them headed inside and Icarus sat himself down at one of their new tables, which they had purchased after their last mission. Million sat down next to him, her eyes scanning around the interior of the tower. She let out a whistle “Not bad, Ick. I would’ve expected a Force Nest owned by three dudes to be an absolute pig sty but it seems your friends know how to look after themselves. You should see his IRL apartment, it’s an absolute mess. Plates, papers, and empty beer cans everywhere.” “M-Mill…” Icarus felt his cheeks flush in embarrassment. “Come on, don’t out me like that. It’s not that bad,” “I mean, it’s not great either, pal. You could learn a thing or two from your friends,” Icarus simply let out a sigh. “So what’s going on, Aker? What’s this exciting mission?” - The main area inside was thankfully better than when they had first purchased the oil rig, with Wade noticing the new tables and furniture. Million seemed interested to the Diver. The was clearly a closer connection between her and his teammate, but getting others to join would help their rank go up. “We gonna impress her or something.” Wade thought as he sat down on one of the couches. “Yeah, I wanna know too.” The Diver said aloud to Aker. - Aker had to chuckle at the back and forth between Million and Icarus. It was refreshing to see close friends together. He brought his hand up to his mouth to hide his mirth before clearing his throat. “Well I found this mission and it looked really interesting…” he said cryptically as he sent the description to his comrades. It was fairly mundane sounding of course. “I know we just escorted a shuttle last game but this one says there’s stages to it and that the reward is a mystery. I think that in itself could be worth trying it out? Basically we go with a shuttle into space and escort it to a colony the whole way through. What do you guys think?” He was doing his best not to hype things up too much, he wanted to be convincing not suspicious. His eyes wondered towards the new guest in their nest and he briefly wondered how long it would take for Wade to address the elephant in the room. Maybe her presence would distract everyone from the mission details enough that they would mindlessly agree to talk about the potential prospect instead? The description matched Aker’s assessment while simply listing the mission as hard plus, the difficulty Fleurs seemed to be gravitating towards. -Icarus nodded along as Aker described the mission ahead. Their previous mission had, ostensibly, been an escort mission as well, but in fact focused more on defeating the Operation Meteor Gundams. Even if the content seemed similar on paper, Icarus was sure they were in for a much different experience. "Sounds interesting," he said "we shouldn't need an NPD either with Mill here. Though I don't know how you get anything done with a machine like that." Million cast a sideways glance at Icarus and smiled slyly. "That 'machine' you're referring to happens to be one of the most statistically powerful combinations out there," she raised her head in mock gallantry. "But I would be happy to guest star on this mission and save you boys some credits." "You're so generous," Icarus said, deadpan. "And we'll see just how 'statistically powerful' it really is, won't we?" - Part of him was worried. With multiple parts, the hard plus mission could be even more challenging than the last. Wade pushed himself off the couch into an upright position. “Sounds like one of those Serial Battle Missions.” He wondered if the reward would even be worth it, but they had been in the past, his last Diver fight withstanding. “Then we got ourselves a plan.” He glanced at the pink haired girl. “With Icarus’ buddy joining the mission, we’ll probably have a better shot compared to using an NPD.” -Aker nodded his agreement with Wade’s assessment. He cringed slightly at the nonchalant mention of NPDs almost like they were tools but he let it slide. If Aker’s Contact was willing to ask him to risk his own life then the task must be worth the risk on some fundamental level. Or at least that’s what Aker kept telling himself. He then nodded over to Million and tilted his head, “does this mean we can count on you?” Aker looked at the time on his menu realizing that there was indeed a timer counting down the mission being available. He cocked his head not noticing that detail before. Shaking the thought from his head he looked at the newcomer again, curious what they would say. -"Absolutely, boss," Icarus said, looking at Wade. Then he looked at Million, quirked a brow, and then looked back to Wade. "Maybe not as good a shot as if we had a real ringer of an NPD, but better than some definitely and--ow, hey!" Icarus recoiled from the elbow that had rammed itself into his ribs. Million smiled and turned to Aker, who had proceeded to ask if they could count on her. "Who me? Absolutely! I could go down a list of my various achievements if you like? Oh, but that might be tacky...well, just know you're in safe hands. I taught Icarus everything he knows, after all," -Aker nodded his agreement with Million’s claim and he offered a small smile. He wasn’t the most personable person on a good day so he was really trying his best now. “Well if we’re all in agreement we better get to it, there’s a half-life on the mission being available.” As he talked he brought up the option to launch the mission. The oil rig shimmered away and was replaced by, the same thing? At first Aker thought the game had rejected the little hack Zapp had done to get them into this mission. He was sitting in his mobile suit but was gazing out at the ocean just like a few moments ago. The Jager was standing on a platform but it wasn’t their oil rig. He looked around realizing that they were on the ocean on a series of platforms which formed a long elevated track which gently curved to aim at the sky. “A mass driver!” Aker said to himself and he realized they were on the junk guild’s mass driver made out in the middle of the ocean. Nodding in approval at the success of uploading into the new world he double checked his load out. He had opted out the katana and Zeta rifle in favor of the GN blade and beam pistol from his old Ardent Exia. He also had a Force striker equipped from the impulse to let the Jager fly in the atmosphere. It was missions like these he missed the GN drive but he knew the Alaya-Vijana had been a worthwhile trade off. Or had it? Aker looked at his lame arm it was still strapped across his chest and could become free if he moved the arm. He hadn’t activated the Alaya-Vijana yet, it was a good reason why he equipped the GN blade so he could rely on his good arm more. While he was tempted to activated the system to feel his arm again, he was becoming increasingly weary of the system and the performance trade off. “Not yet…” he muttered to himself and looked around for his teammates. Before he could start counting his teammates however he was greater by a cheery voice. “Oh my! We didn’t see you approach! I hope you are here as friends?” Aker froze at the voice and hissed in disgust, “that man has sick sense of humor…” Aker muttered and not for the last time, as he referenced the Zapp agent. “That’s an affirmative … Ms. Clyne… we’re Fleurs De Noblesse and we’re here to offer you protection on your perilous journey home.” One of his screens turned into a video feed and the face of the pink haired princess showed up looking at him. He grimaced and took a deep breath, she was younger than Meer was, it made it only slightly easier to talk to the girl who reminded him of his ex. “You must be the people Mr. Creed talked about! Thank you so very much for your assistance. We’re almost done loading up and we’ll be taking off shortly.” Aker nodded his acknowledgment and did his best not to blush from the warm compliments, “understood ma’am. We… we’ll make sure you get home… Aker out.” He cut the feed and looked for his teammates. It occurred to him that they didn’t know about his past fling with a Lacus cosplayer named Meer. “So much to tell them…” Aker muttered.

  41. Icarus quirked an eyebrow as he watched Wade exit his mobile suit. He wouldn’t have guessed a mission in a Gundam-based game would require him to actually leave his mobile suit to complete it, but he liked how it added variety. After a while, Wade had uncovered what appeared to be an elevator of some kind and suggested that someone stay behind. Before Icarus could even mull it over, Aker volunteered. Icarus turned the DaeDAL to look at the Jaeger. “You sure?” he asked. But Aker had seemed pretty sure and so the DaeDAL nodded in affirmation. “Alright, I’ll go with Wade then. If something comes up, don’t hesitate to call us back or run if you get overwhelmed. As long as one suit survives we pass the mission, right?” Right, let’s do this, Icarus brought the DaeDAL into a kneel, opened the cockpit, and rode the wire down. The snow was deep and felt realistic when walking through it and Icarus was eager to get out of it almost as soon as he had landed on the ground. “Alright, Wade,” he said, clapping his teammate on the shoulder and gesturing toward the elevator. “Lead the way,”

  42. The DaeDAL’s volley sped through the empty space where he thought he had left the two mobile suits. “Huh? They’re gon—” sirens blared as the Freedom and the Justice appeared at his flank. “Damn it,” Icarus brought the shield up once more as the Freedom’s entire arsenal let loose a full salvo but the timing was far from perfect. They had managed to get the drop on him with their speed, something that Icarus foolishly miscalculated. The Freedom’s cannons tore through the legs of the DaeDAL, obliterating them completely, and melted the shield to the point it became unrecognizable. “It’s a good thing you don’t need legs in space,” Icarus said over the comms, his voice laced with smarminess. Let’s get him really worked u— His train of thought was interrupted by the sudden reappearance of the Jaegar Astray, which had jammed its beam saber up into the torso of the Justice. No— Tossing the shield aside, Icarus wrenched on his control sticks, throwing the DaeDAL in as fast of a backward thrust as he could manage. There was no time to shift to waverider and he had his doubts that the suit was still capable of transforming at all without legs. The explosion of the Justice was a beautiful, horrible thing—radiant, iridescent, and blinding. Despite his evasive manoeuvres, the shock wave still managed to send the DaeDAL hurtling even further away. “Icarus try to keep Yzak interested in you!” “Roger that, Aker,” But maybe I’ll do you one better and take him out myself. As the light of the explosion began to fade, Icarus brought the Mega Beam Cannon back up and aimed, waiting for the Freedom to come into view. One shot an end this here and now---I just have to concentrate.

  43. Raymond Hermes's Gunpla Collection #1 – RGZ-99i DaeDAL Base Unit: RGZ-95 ReZEL Operator (Diver Name): Raymond Hermes AKA Icarus The RGZ-99i DaeDAL is a mobile suit born of necessity—or rather, the lack of funds. Based off the RGZ-95 ReZEL, the DaeDAL adds increased mid-to-long range combat options while foregoing short-range equipment, in order to increase speed for hit-and-run tactics. The Daedalus forgoes the dark colouration of the ReZEL in favour of the classic white-red-blue-yellow Gundam colour scheme. Structural Defense: Conventional Materials - offers lighter armor weight for greater mobility, with no added benefit. Special System: N/A Melee Weapons: Armor Schneider Combat Knife x2—stored in left leg armor. Projectile Weapons: 60mm Vulcan Cannons x 2—A pair of head mounted shell firing weapons with a high-rate of fire, but little power. They are mainly used to restrain enemy units, intercept missiles and the like. Beam Rifle -- the beam rifle's muzzle can generate a beam blade, allowing the rifle to function as a long beam saber. Mega Beam Cannon—Shoulder mounted, three-shot mega beam cannon. Continued use puts considerable strain on the mobile suit and rapid fire is likely to damage the user via recoil. Beam Boomerangs x2—Short beam weapons mounted in shield, capable of returning to user once thrown. Shield: Multipurpose Shield--A beam cannon that fires in a 3-round burst is mounted at the front, and serves as the main weapon in waverider mode. The blade at the back of the shield can be used as a ramming weapon in close combat. Power System: Nuclear Plant - offers unparalleled power at the cost of expense and environmental danger if damaged. Special Abilities/Features: Transformable—Waverider MA mode ((Reference for colour and silhouette, the Leo Chevalier also has gold filigree decals on shoulders, legs, and torso)) Name: FN-01OZ Leo Chevalier Base Unit: OZ-06MS Leo Operator (Diver Name): Raymond Hermes AKA Icarus Structural Defense: Gundanium Alloy - well balanced endurance, at the cost of weighing down the unit. Special System: Trans-Am - offers exceptional mobility at the cost of high power consumption. Melee Weapons: Armor Schneider Combat Knife x2—stored on tactical sheath on hip armor. Gyan Beam Saber x2 - A special beam saber with a higher output designed for piercing and stabbing as opposed to cutting. Stored in left shield. Graze Battle Blade- A sword-type melee weapon that is developed for ground combat, it is easy to wield due to its light weight. Stored across shoulders. Beam saber x2- stored in right shield Projectile Weapons: Beam Shot Rifle - Noticeably larger than most other beam rifles, the beam shot rifle is powered by a rechargeable energy cap. A unique feature of this rifle is that it has two barrels, one for firing normal beam shots and another for firing a scattershot-like beam blasts. The latter is similar to what is fired by a shotgun, the wider beam spreads the damage over a greater area. Shield: Circular Shield x 2 - attached to the shoulders with a joint on the back, enabling the MS to keep both hands free. It also has a holder on the back for storing two beam sabers. Power System: Solar Furnace - offers exceptional energy and propulsion (including Trans-Am) at the cost of being proprietary (limits backpack options) and expensive. Special Abilities/Features:

  44. Wufei felt scorned by fate. He had come all the way from the battle in Colony A0206, surviving his very own wife, the woman who gave Nataku its name, only to be bested by some soft-spoken, wealthy aristocrat in a Mobile Suit made of blue toothpicks. In his very first official sortie, no less. - “Kill me.” Feeling worthless, incapable of fulfilling his duty as a Gundam Pilot, he asked Treize to take the final step. However, he just lowered his weapon, deactivating the vibrating blade. - “It was a good fight.” He stated matter of factly, a trace of melancholy in his words. He shifted the Enact to start to look away, making a cheap attack more tempting, however, Wufei just demanded death once more. - "Kill me now, or I'll come back until I get you!" His Gundam got up, and took the lodged blade out of its shoulder, but it made no move against the Enact. - “That would be interesting...” mused Treize. “Maybe then, we could resume our discussion.” He moved his Enact away - "Shit!" Furious, Wufei clicked on some buttons and Shenlong moved its arm. It looked as if it was about to attack the Enact, however, all the Gundam did was launch the inactive sonic blade towards the floor and leave it buried there, transmitting rather graphically its pilot's frustration. It then walked away, leaving Quatre to fend off the Aries alone, and Beta Team in a clash with the Leo Team. Victorious, Treize walked his Enact back to the hangar, while Lady Une, who had taken command at the control tower, talked to him. - “Sir. We’re assigning Hellions to the pursuit of that Gundam-type.” - “Call it off.” - “Why?” Une was surprised to hear him say that, as he powered down the systems of the Enact and opened the hatch. - “Today we fought in Mobile Suits. Next time, we'll fight a proper duel. The thought that he could, perhaps, be deadlier in person makes it all worth the wait.” Treize Khushrenada stated, hanging out from the Enact's hatch, as wind blew on his face and made his cape float behind him. Meanwhile, Quatre was left behind by the Aries, even though he had managed to cut down one of them with his Shotel. As a bonus, however, the Shotel fell to the floor along with the Mobile Suit it had downed, which let Quatre retrieve it yet again. Things had not gone like he had wanted to, though. Wufei was nowhere to be seen, neither was Colonel Khushrenada. The Aries had left him alone, like there was anybody there to take care of him, but the Leo garrison was occupied with what seemed to be another Gundam and two weird GMs. Could they be here to help us? The base is going nowhere… i guess it wouldn’t hurt to ask. Turning off the shotels to let them cool down and lay off the reactor for a while, Quatre made Sandrock run towards the fray, the beam submachine gun and Gundanium shield at the ready, in case anybody fired at him. --- One of the two commander Leos, equipped with a beam saber, then attacked Isla's Variable Gundam. Knowing Phase-Shift would not save her from a beam, she instead tried to defend herself with the beam shield, then fired her Jesta beam rifle from the hip, in a very awkward manner. Aida, in exchange, had not Phase-Shift, nor any form of beam defense, so he had not a moment to spare: quickly, after missing the third Dobergunner, he fired up his thrusters to ascend and was picked up by Fatum-00. Soon, the integrated AI made over control of the sub-flight system to him, so he sped away and turned around for a second go at the two remaining 'Gunners, this time, making Fatum give them its all: in addition to the twin MA-4B "Fortis" beam cannons, he also fired two M9M9 "Cervus" turret machine guns and four GAU5 "Volucris" machine guns at the Leos, sweeping down in a flashy manner. "With all of these weapons firing, I HAVE to hit something!"

  45. “Wow that’s cool!” Creed’s son gawked as the man showed him the iconic scene of the Freedom appearing in Joshua to protect the Archangel. The boy pawed at the outstretched phone to replay the scene again. “Whose the pilot again?” The boy rested his head on Creed’s chest as they lounged on their chair watching the anime clip. Marco chuckled, “Kira Yamato! One of the strongest pilots to exist in the entire Gundam franchise!” The boy scrunched up his nose as he watched the Freedom blast away at the locked on enemies. “Does he pilot anything else?” Marco grinned at the question and answered, “later on he goes on to pilot the Strike Freedom which is named from both his previous mobile suits, the Freedom…” Marco shook the phone to emphasis his point, “and the Strike, which he piloted before this machine…” the boy shot a look at his father. “Was the Strike strong?” Smiling all the wider Marco replied, “for the era it was deployed, yes. It even had the ability to change striker packs to equip mission specific gear…. Do you want to see?” The boy lit up at the offer and nodded his head, “Oh yeah! Kira sounds pretty cool!” *** The tempo between sparks and flashes picked up violently as the Higabana relentlessly attacked the Archangel with a skill Creed didn’t think Risu possessed. With that one attack panic set in with the veteran for he knew his time with Kira he would be sorely pressed. Kira responded in kind by sending one of his knives into Basel’s knee. If they were on Earth it would have impaired his mobility but in space it was superficial damage at best. “Acts up” Creed muttered as he returned his attention to the enemy before him. “Sorry kid!” He yelled out as he went all out. Right-right left, his blades snapped out hit after hit against the cockpit of the strike. Each slash spewing out a rain of sparks from phase shift attempting to protect itself. Growling in frustration Creed locked his wings up over his shoulders and began firing his electromagnetic cannons into the Strike at point blank. Each shot and each swipe pummeled into the Strike with a dizzying display of intensity. Hikaru’s voice cracked over the comm, the boy mentioned something about a sniper and field displacement. The plea for help sent Creed into a fury as he picked up the pace of his assault, “I don’t have time for you my teammate is in danger!” Creed yelled. Black smoke billowed around the Strike from the repeated cannon fire and more and more debris seemingly bled off the Strike. Something inside of Creed’s head told him to stab now and so he did. Bael retracted it’s right sword to dive into cloud covering the belly, the cockpit of the Strike. He half expected the phase shift to push the attack away but he was stunned as the weapon cleanly cut forward. His initial thought was Kira had gone berserk and was now coming around for an attack but when an explosion erupted from his stroke and the head of the strike banged into his camera he realized he had taken down Kira. Bael along with pieces of mobile suit flew back from the explosion. He winced at the brilliance on his displays and was stunned again as he saw that his heads up display was confirming that the Strike was no more. His hands trembled, though Creed couldn’t tell if it was from excitement or… “disgust?” He whispered to himself. He caught his breath in his mouth and took a gulp. His reverie didn’t last long as a MKII Gundam charged directly into him. He was certain that if physics were a concern for him he would have gotten whiplash from the impact. The black Gundam was shoulder bashing him from his left side, both suits went out wildly from the impact. And while his sensors flared in warning and minor damage, he knew he could recover faster than the “flesh and blood” that was the enemy pilot. He fought the controls to bring his right blade aligned with his target for a stab. Unlike the Strike, this one didn’t have pesky phase shift. “My friends need me! Get out of my way!” He growled. —————- Rau hissed as his swipe missed the head of his most hated of foes. His strike wasn’t without merit as his blade cut through the saber pack on the black mobile suit. That all too familiar sensation reverberated in his head in a warning just as the MKII came around to swipe his Gatling arm clean off. He was going to loose, at best he was on even terms with the Hawk of Endymion, but out numbered as he was he knew he couldn’t cleanly defeat that cursed man. “I think I’ll take my prize Mu!” Rau yelled as he cocked his sword arm and snapped the weapon in a Hail Mary. The sword spun out at the MKII with impeccable aim, twirling for the cockpit of the machine. Rau hardly cared if the attack connected, as he reached out with his free hand to grab the beam saber floating in front of him. With his prize in hand he flared his thrusters and swerved the CGUE around in retreat. As he jetted away he studied his display, intrigued by the damage done to the legged ship. He activated his com unit to all friendly forces. “It looks like we accomplished enough today, all forces retreat back to the Vesalius.” The masked man could hardly contain a grin as he looked at the ebony hilt in his hand. Next time they met, he would at least have even footing with Mu again.

  46. Streaks of amber light filled Risu's vision, no doubt the enemy returning fire. With widened eyes, and andrenaline coursing through her veins, she scanned her surroundings. Debris dominated her vision after the shots, though in the heat of the moment, she elected to continue shooting instead of changing position, as any experienced pilot should. However, the Higanbana would stop shooting as soon as its pilot spotted a humanoid shape. There was no doubt in her mind that this was the one shooting at her earlier. Her heart begun to pound, and even though the reality that this was just a game was very present in her mind, it did nothing to dull the sense of danger she'd created in her mind. As if by instinct, Risu begun to steer her gunpla towards the Comet Dagger, and for a single, almost-imperceptible moment, the normally-green sensor lights of the Higanbana turned to purple. Higanbana charged forward at full throttle, rushing towards the Archangel at incredible speed. If there was any doubt surrounding the quality of its construction, all of that would be swept away at the sudden burst of movement. Violently, it fired its comprehensive suite of maneuvering thrusters, shoving itself downwards below the Comet Dagger's field of view before resurfacing just a few short meters in front of it. The singular Long Beam Rifle it carried begun to glow with a powerful heat, turning the weapon into an elongated heat sword. The gunpla raised its weapon to strike, at first aiming directly at the Dagger's chest to strike directly at its pilot with a single thrust, but instead used the movement as a feint, surging past the Beta Team machine to instead strike at the Archangel itself up close. Almost immediately, the Earth Alliance vessel's array of point defense turrets raised from their hardpoints, coming alive with unending volleys of machine gun fire towards the Higanbana, which in an uncharacteristic display of skill considering its pilot, weaved between the turrets' arcs of fire with ease and grace as it slashed across various points of the vessel's hull with its Long Heat Claw.

  47. Risu’s little ears flattened at the touch to her head, appearing to wince away at Hikaru’s touch. Still, she looked like she appreciated it, judging by the small, nervous smile she’d given him. As the proceedings continued, she remained quiet, trying her best to understand what was going on. By the looks of things, this Rau person seemed quite important. And while she didn’t quite get the finer details of his speech, she understood that the next part of this questline was gated for tomorrow. Her attention quickly shifted to her interface as a red circle marked with a ‘1’ appeared above the back of her hand. She’d hold it in front of her to open it, finding a friend request from Marco. She’d leave it for now. As the other divers begun their goodbyes, she’d stand idly in place. She was typing something, and it was taking quite a while. Eventually, she’d bow again, offering her own farewell-for-now. [good night!! see u tomorrow wwww (ノ´ヮ`)ノ*: ・゚] Despite this, she lingered, watching the rest of her new Force disappear with clouds of teal, cubic particles. Now alone, she could finally relax. It felt like she’d been holding her breath the entire time. Slowly, she’d slump to her knees on the cool metal floor, letting out a shaky sigh. This wasn’t normal for her. Usually, she had no problem with people online, where they were static, distant avatars speaking in text, but in the space of virtual reality, it all felt too real. They looked real, quite possibly like their real selves, and they were speaking to her about things she had no understanding of. And now they were counting on her: strangers she barely knew hanging their hopes of success on her meager shoulders. While they’d managed to eke out a victory, Risu could feel it in her heart that she was dragging them down, that they felt that she was dragging them down, holding them back from performing perfectly. Why was she even doing this? She didn’t know Choco in real life, either, but the obligation of meeting her in this game gnawed at her conscience. She wanted to impress her, especially since she’d been given the game, owing nothing in return. For all her hangups and anxiety about all of this, Risu wanted to do better, she wanted to be better for when they would inevitably see each other. She was never good at games, and in virtual reality, where real dexterity was important, she had little chance of keeping up: she was clumsy and unskilled with anything requiring a modicum of finesse or expertise. How would she get better for Choco? Risu paused for a moment, laying back and closing her eyes before she’d log out herself. “Sorry….”

  48. "Tsk!" Carter clicked his tongue, even after getting the drop on him- The red comet was able to get a shot at the Blue Lightning. "You'll have to do better than that though!" he said, re-orienting himself to face his rival once more, he checked his mobile suit and saw the damage, the beams that the Rick Dias fired found purchase around the legs of the Zaku, though.. his mobility wont hurt much at least. He activated his thrusters, preparing to launch at the Lieutenant at fast speeds, he still had one weapon up his sleeve.. Literally, he aimed his arm forward, and the triple barreled vulcan guns he had installed came to the surface. He started firing at the tumbling Rick Dias while boosting hard towards him, he was preparing to do a quick barrel roll to avoid a head on collision, and.. "Beta Two! Beta Three! I want you to disengage that maniac and the Red Comet! We are ganging up on the black Rick Diases! Hurry! We haven't much time..." "What?!-" Carter asked, suddenly veering off course and facing down the Red Comet.. He sighed deeply and shook his head, opening up Communications with him "Next time" He said to him before turning and then going at top speed.. He was searching for the marked enemies.

  49. As the blast erupted from the dual Amfortas beam cannons, Creed grimaced. He studied the effect of his attack. Time seemed to slow down as the reddish blue beam arced out to touch his foe. The Galbaldy foolishly tried to block the attack and Creed had to wonder if the NPD just went daft. The beam was merciless in its course and any damage to the Galbaldy was overshadowed by the arc slamming into the ground of the colony opposite of where they were on the far side. Black smoke retreated from the impact just before being sucked back in by the small hole etched into the colony, leading into space. Satisfied at causing a big enough distraction with the colony damage, Creed transformed his damaged mobile suit into a mobile armor to jet away. Between the growing winds of the colony hole and the damaged arm, the Zero Savior began to drag sluggishly to the right. With his main weapon out of commission and the recharge time between his cannons slow, Creed was relegated to a supporting role; still he looked for the objectives. The black banner of smoke spilling from the inoperable MKII caught his attention first. Really it was just the cockpit that had been destroyed the rest of the mobile suit was still there. Grim furrowed his brow and veered his craft to the abandoned black Gundam. He transformed back into a mobile suit and began to lamely pick up the damaged suit with his good arm. While he had no idea if securing the damaged unit would count towards victory, he was willing to give it a try. If nothing else maybe he could make the enemies panic in assumptions. The only downside to his plan was how vulnerable he would be performing the task. —— Quattro gritted his teeth as the Rick Dias landed home on the blue Zaku. The momentum of the kick transferred over knocking the blue suit away and giving the lieutenant a moment to swing his bazooka back around. As he did so the blue Zaku charged forward to swing a punch at him of all things. Just then a familiar sensation tingled in Quattro’s senses and he instinctively pivoted the cannons on his back to shoot blindly behind himself. He rarely used the weapons and the jolt to his cockpit startled him, in fact the recoil was much too great. The cannons fired successfully but an impact to his back sent the Rick Dias tumbling forward. “Argh! He must have feinted and got me!” Quattro yelled out as he fought the controls. He had little time to orient himself much less properly assess the damage to his machine, but he did quickly realized the back cannons were damaged. “Looks like I have to give this guy some credit!” The lieutenant grimaced. He switched his comm again, “Higanbana please respond if you’re able to assist!”

  50. “You must be Hiro.” Captain Benjamin Grimsdottir said after a brief introduction. The AEUG Captain was a tall and imposing figure. Draconis Fury stood up almost in unison and snapped sharply in salute. Certain mercenaries gave their profession a bad name with their lack of care for decorum and discipline. They often used their freelance status as an excuse to misbehave. The Galleon Combine thought otherwise. They were an armed force for hire, but they were still an armed force. Discipline was not just expected, but demanded of the Galleon mercenaries. That was one of the factors that convinced Hiro Kusanagi to submit the Fury to the Combine’s authority. “Captain Grimsdottir. Hiro Kusanagi reporting for duty. These are the finest of Draconis Fury. Kamea Thrace, MS pilot. Grace Valerii, mechanic. Ronald Boone, tactician and comms. I believe you know that already.” As standard protocol, the Combine provided detailed profiles of each mercenary for the employers. Each of his team member were as outstanding as the other in their own area of expertise. Hiro nodded in acknowledgement at the AEUG soldiers who fell in behind Grimsdottir. "Our packs and gear have all been loaded, so I guess we are pretty much settled. When will we depart?"
